  1. Cool. It’s more about the guys doing the drafting than the draft slot in my opinion. Maybe if you are drafting a QB, but that’s about it.
  2. It’s not unusual for a young QB to not trust what he’s seeing right away. The guy played in the mountain west. If he’s still doing that a year or two down the road, it will be his eventual downfall. He probably wasn’t going to be a ready made starting QB from day one. Probably should have sat at least half the year.
  3. No. Woods was very good all around WR, but wanted to play in Cali and couldn’t be retained except by franchise tag. That would have been crazy. Hogan maybe improved slightly but is just being utilized better than he was here. He’s pretty much the same exact guy with a better offensive scheme and QB.
  4. Newsflash, Josh Allen ( nor any QB from this past draft for that matter) is going to be Tom Brady. Might be time to ratchet down the expectations there. There are maybe 3 or 4 guys at the top of the league that fit your definition. Rodgers team is crap this year, so even that’s no guarantee. Bills WRs drop way too many catchable passes.
  5. Just what receivers are you referring to? Tyrod was a reluctant passer of the football , but had decent WRs who often were seen running wide open on the all 22. Woods, Sammy even Hogan is OK. The Bills current crop is piss poor by most evaluations.
  6. I think the bland defensive plan is a continuing trait of Frazier. It bit them in the a$$ today, but a play here and there and it would be ignored. This won’t change without a new DC, which I doubt McD would do.
  7. Allen is not faster or shifter than McCoy. This stat reveals just how poor the OL is. They can’t even run block well. A thumper can put his head down and get a few yards, but the Bills have to be the worst runblocking team in the league. Allen’s yards come on pass plays where the defense is spread out. Those are valuable yards and have to come from somewhere. The WRs really aren’t capable of doing much more than their current sorry output. This O would have a lot more three and outs if it wasn’t for Allen’s freakish running ability. It makes the offense somewhat functional for now. It won’t change without better pass catching threats. Plus a lot better pass protection. If he’s holding onto it because of crappy WRs then it’s a good decision because throwing in those situations would result in more turnovers. This isn’t a functional group on offense, maybe the all 22 shows otherwise but I doubt it.
  8. The bad OL and WRs won’t be an inexpensive fix. Both are best repaired via the draft, but the timeline is such that they will have to spend some sizable $$ to get both fixed quickly enough. It will be a judiscious mix and still take some great drafting to pan out.
  9. This ^ Also, our front four didn’t win much in the passing game today. Hardly a dominant performance. Darnold had clean pockets back there plus WRs that mostly catch the ball.
  10. Easy for Darnold to toss a few bouquets out there after this one. Could easily have been a diffferent story if Frazier showed some sack at the end.
  11. Maybe, maybe not. It shows what they think of Darnold thus far for sure though. The Bills D also gets a bit too much credit for their ranking. Frazier gets far too conservative at times and this was one of them. Darnold has been turnover prone and they didn’t pressure him nearly enough.
  12. Exactly. I pick up a NY Post every Friday, and they’ve been highly critical of SD. Most of their staff were picking the Bills today.
  13. For the moment, yes. Darnold should be ahead of Allen right now. He played at USC, and has better protection from his OL. I’d guess without watching all Jets games that their WRs drop far fewer passes as well. Darnold didn’t appear light years ahead of Allen overall, so I’d still say that JA could eclipse Darnold as a QB with more development and better protection. We will know in a few years. Until that point, this list is pretty much a power ranking of QBs.
  14. Agree with this. Most of Allen’s throws are on target, including 90% of the drops. That’s maddening, and he needs some help from playmakers in the future. His mistakes are of the taking unnecessary risks variety, not bad throws. The Bills D was complicit today in making things far too comfortable for Darnold.
  15. Can’t let the vaunted D off the hook that easily. They had a huge hand in the outcome today.
  16. Yeah, White actually had pretty good position. The throws were right where they needed to be , mostly because Frazier was scared of his own shadow vs the turnover prone rookie Darnold.
  17. This is true. Darnold ( who has been pressured most of the year btw) had mostly no pressure from the Bills rush all day. He was better than Allen today imo, but some decent protection and a lot fewer drops by WRs would have narrowed the gap considerably. The Jets O is bad, but the Bills are worse. Allen gets very little help.
  18. Loved the MIA play. At least someone in this division doesn’t play scared against the Patsies and B.B. at home. I was scoreboard watching following Bills and KC and thought MIA was toast. A Bills loss in a lost season is much easier to digest when NE loses.
  19. Yeah, I would have liked to see the defense do more than just Edmunds INT. They got no pressure on Darnold. It’s easier to live with for me with MIA continuing their strange Dominance at home over the Patsies coupled with the Chiefs win in OT. It’s all about not having to watch NE in the Super Bowl for me once the Bills are out of the playoff picture.
  20. Turnovers, sloppy STs and no pass rush to speak of = crushing loss
  21. Round one goes to Darnold....I don’t like this at all
  22. No timeouts a very tough ask here but that’s what it’ll take to best Darnold today
  23. 57 should have had him stopped short with a form tackle there
  24. I think Darnold fumbled there before he hit..too bad no recovery
