  1. Pretty good analysis. BUF presents a unique situation because of the things you cited, not the least of which is the owners. It really comes down to what do the Pegulas really want ? You cited an average, so the actual difference is substantial. Not minimal. Temps aren’t considered comfortable for most until it hits around 60. 50’’s is at least a light jacket and only seems decent to those used to BUF weather or worse.
  2. Love the Bucks ! Stuck here for another 5-7 years lol. Many years in and a big hit to my pension to leave now. I’ll live, but it’s getting tougher as the weather is getting worse.
  3. Yep, high five degrees warmer than BUF on average. That means more days in the 60s, which is a lot closer to comfortable. Trees didn’t have leaves in BUF much before Memorial Day and cherry blossoms were still around. That’s over a month after Columbus OH and a whopping two months after DC area.
  4. But there will be someone to step in and pay it, if the Bills are in a new stadium. If it’s a reno, the PSL would have to be very low cost.
  5. I think the projected cost of a full reno was around $500 million the last time it came up and the County rejected it. I’d guess it’s substantially higher now. The design of Rich/ NEF doesn’t lend itself to major modifications , so it will be pricey to modernize.
  6. I’d like my chances of a decent day in CLE at the end of April much better than in BUF.
  7. Many pools in BUF probably haven’t opened yet. Seriously, we’ve hit the upper 70’s maybe twice so far. If I still had my place in the ‘burbs with inground pool I may not have even bothered to open it yet. It was barely open 100 days a year in a good summer.
  8. They might have similar weather, but BUF has morphed into two seasons really. Spring doesn’t exist and winter starts on around November 1st.
  9. Surprised it came from GMF as that show features more Patriot ball-washing than most. They throw a hot take out there once in awhile to keep other teams fans ( mildly) interested.
  10. Or the teams in the weakest divisions. Honestly I don’t care for the byes as it gets very tiresome and boring. Again, that’s today. Saw my Columbus friends at Easter time and they had already mowed their lawns 4 times. Flowers were blooming, and they hit 80 degrees several times already. Weather in BUF is awful and seems to be getting worse. Id guess that CLE is usually better as well.
  11. Sure, but that’s a little more of a fluke. Just down the road a bit in Columbus, it’s been consistently 15-20 degrees above BUF temps, and our highs have been their lows. We’ve had seemingly perpetual cloud cover since Thanksgiving. Just terrible.
  12. There will never be a “ Jerry world” type stadium in BUF.. A four game preseason is definitely not needed. it’s barely a three game one now, as game four is largely the players who are getting cut. The players don’t want to play preseason games , and the league doesn’t want to pay them for playing less than they already do. Of course , more real games =. more $$ in the league coffers.
  13. I disagree. The game is popular because it’s a great game. Fans of the NFL tolerate teams like the Patriots, but we don’t love it. Far from it, and they definitely don’t make the game more popular. Football is unique in that you only have to be the better team that day ( as opposed to a series) and that the home field gives more of an advantage than in other sports.
  14. Crazy that guys are wearing zip up long sleeves to golf in June ! Seems like the weather always sucks for Jimbos tournament , which is nuts considering it’s not in say, April. This is why the draft will never work in Buffalo; you’d have to wait until the 4th of July!
  15. Actually ATL has some of the least expensive concession prices in the league. They just reduced prices by another %10 recently. Not sure about beer, but that hot dog will set you back $1.50. Pretzel bites are $4.50 and some chips and salsa goes for $2.50.
  16. Maybe in Georgia. I’m hoping we can get 75-80 days of decent weather up here. This year has absolutely sucked weather-wise.
  17. True. This stuff really comes down to elective lifestyle choices.
  18. Perhaps the most brain-dead twit ever to hold her elected office. Her quotes are truly unbelievable. Scary stuff....
  19. But it does go into someone else’s pockets. Shares of the Green Bay Packers do not include any equity, pay any dividends or increase in value. It’s a token “ share “ of stock , really. Around 5 million shares of this “ stock” have been sold.
  20. A bottle of wine that costs $10 is often 5 times that price in a restaurant setting, so it’s not that far off. Can’t exepect retail or close to retail pricing in a stadium situation.
  21. The polls don’t surprise me. Lots of whiny upset lefties out there since Trump won the election. Polls are the equivalent of “ online muscles “ in many ways so the responses are predictable. Outrageous responses given out of anger and for shock value. I think your compromise position of 20 is more than fair.
  22. I consider my overall views to be on the libertarian side and am an atheist. I think abortion should remain legal, with restrictions. Not the new deep south restrictions though. Essentially the previous status quo. I confess I am not going to dig further into the issue, as my overall position will not change. I haven’t read what’s in the NY law and probably won’t. I don’t support it , as it is far too extreme. I don’t support the far left on many things, and this is no exception. It appears to be simply a huge F U to the extreme right , but just maybe I’m naive and some folks actually think this change is somehow desirable ? Again , it looks like the work of some extremists that I don’t support anyway so I don’t need to know any more about them. I don’t vote for them anyway.
  23. Yep, the Raiders were legendary partiers and did just fine. The Bills mistakes in Supe 25 were on the field. Primarily, the defense didn’t show up and let the NYG play keepaway. On offense, they should have run the ball more vs DB heavy personnel groupings. The Giants were an elite level team that year on D, and their meeting with the Bills just a month earlier was a low scoring affair. Most would say the Bills should have had that one, especially having the last possession. They wasted time on that drive and needed just another decent gain or two to have it in the bag. Perhaps they could have emerged victorious in one of the other 3 SBs , but they weren’t the superior team in any of those. If they had managed to land Ted Washington in the ‘91 draft it may have been enough to get them a win vs run heavy WAS or DAL teams.
