  1. I’d love to see the early exit , as it would make for a much more enjoyable NFL playoff experience. The Ravens May have exposed the Pats , but I’m not sure many teams can take advantage of it.
  2. Which is fine, but the league is really about getting fans to watch on TV. The fans care about rivalries, which is why the NFL has always thought them to be important. If players, not fans cared about rivalries the NFL wouldn’t care at all.
  3. Coaches don’t want a QB controversy undermining the team, ever. Anytime you put the backup QB in without injury, this could happen as it happens even with an injury. The QB is just too important of a position for there to be any doubt about who “ the guy “ is. Once you make a move to sit the starting QB in favor of another , he’s all but done as your leader. That’s just how it is.
  4. Actually, a stat was posted this week showing Mayfield had worst rating in the league when not pressured. I’m guessing he’s not worst in the league when rushed.
  5. Many games come down to a few key plays here or there; and trap games are a myth. Besides, the Bills aren’t consistently good enough to have a “ trap “ game. They’re not even favored vs Browns.
  6. Wow. That would be a cool feat for this year’s team to pull off, easy schedule or not. 1965? That’s before many on this forum ( myself included) were even alive.
  7. They got a late TD and still needed to recover an onside kick ( practically impossible under new rules) to even have a chance. Almost doesn’t mean much. All of the Bills games were fairly close, some required comebacks and the MIA game wasn’t much different. They’ve played pretty consistent football. They’re really not good enough for a close game to mean they played down to anyone’s level. When they beat winning teams then falter and struggle vs a weak one, that would apply.
  8. How many of Edelman’s YAC yards are due to his ability, vs where the ball was placed ?Tyreek Hill ? Let’s be honest, all the things you mentioned can help YAC. Play design can help too. The biggest influence is the talent of the WR. Otherwise, WR are interchangeable, which my eyes tell me they absolutely are not.
  9. Or maybe they play to their own skill level , and do so pretty consistently. I wish they could have played to the Pats* and Eagles skill level, but they just aren’t there yet in terms of overall talent.
  10. Lol that’s rough.... a tough situation there, hope the Bills can show up that day. I’ll be skipping two large gatherings and watching in a hermetically sealed environment ( with plenty of rum) or a bar somewhere. I just cannot deal with it in a group setting like that. Hate that the Bills are playing ( late) on Turkey day, but there you have it !
  11. Lol, it’s entertainment and a game. Fans can’t “ aim higher” etc etc because they have zero impact on the team. How many different teams have won Superbowls ? How many have never won it ? How many have won it, but ages ago where many current fans wouldn’t even remember it or weren’t alive to see it ? If the standard is the Super Bowl each and every year, that’s going to be a disappointing way to watch football. It’s a great game, and every season and each game are it’s own thing. Fans always want to win the Super Bowl and compete for championships every year, but realize that’s unlikely in the NFL. It’s all about expectations. How we watch football is probably an indicator about our approach to life. Can I not enjoy my Caribbean vacation because I’m not on a private island with a butler ? Can I not enjoy may sports car because it’s not a Bentley ? A dinner out if it’s not at Peter Luger ? Misery is ingrained in some people. It’s like Ferris Beuller said about life ..” if you don’t stop and smell the roses once in awhile , you might miss it !”. Be miserable if you must, but you don’t need to try to drag everyone into your bad day. Why do you find other fans enjoying the season so sad ?
  12. Yeah, in 2017. I don’t think that game is relevant here, it’s a very different roster.
  13. But, but , but he’s thrown for over 300 yards in a single game! He’s clearly been outperformed! He’ll certainly be cut . Good thing DC let us all know where we heard it lest anyone forget.
  14. If the Bills were smart, they’d just consult the legions of armchair GMs on TSW. They already know Allen isn’t worth building around, and the team should move on. This will prevent them from wasting any more time.
  15. I’d be perfectly fine with just beating them for a change. No PT tv necessary.
  16. Liked his game in the past. Hope he’s got something left
  17. It wasn’t. That team had a very good defense ( better than the current edition) and a developing, but very conservative - even for the time- offense. They were a legit SB contender in the AFC, and would have hosted the AFCCG if not for an inexplicable late season road loss to a putrid Tampa Bay team.
  18. Narratives are for PPP. Anyway, Allen looked a lot more like the 21 other 1st and 2nd year QBs that BB has defeated than Jackson. I wouldn’t use the word afraid more than confused. Some of this is because Harbaugh and the Ravens are letting Jackson do his thing rather than change him or coach things out of him. Jackson played loose and looked like he belonged. Not taking anything away from him, but he’s got good coaching , a scheme tailored around him , a very solid OL, RB and supporting cast. Kudos to them. I’m not sure why why any Bills fan would mock Jackson or the Ravens, as they’ve done the ultimate in the respect department; dismantling the Pats on prime time. Jackson looks good to me in that system ; how he’d do outside of it is another question but the guy is an incredible athlete and it showed on Sunday night.
  19. Trust me, we know.
  20. The Bills reached as high as 12th in the NFLs yardage based offensive rankings earlier this season. It’s great to move the ball , and they were doing a better job of it earlier. Weather obviously impacted 2 of the last 3 home games as far as passing goes. They’re still struggling to move the ball for long stretches , especially in the 2nd half. The goal of offense is to score points , and they’ve been mostly lacking in that all important category all season. They need to find more ways to score, and there are multiple issues at work there.
  21. Oh sure it does, wasn’t arguing against your point, more just adding to it. RW wanted to preserve the traditional rivalries, and there definitely wasn’t a big one with the Colts. Manning had just gotten there a few years before, and outside of Bert Jones the Colts hadn’t had much at QB to heat up any rivalry.
  22. I agree , it’s tough to watch at times. Conversely, you see many defenses that you just know aren’t going to make a stop. Leaves a lot of those style games comIng down to which team has the ball last. It’s frustrating to watch a team that can’t stop anyone too.
  23. It would be nice. He hasn’t been making game changing plays, and it’s halfway through year two. He’s young, but has been a disappointment relative to his draft position imo.
