The ‘91 Redskins were the best team the Bills faced in their 4 Super Bowl appearances. As good as the Cowboys teams were ( they were all superior to the Bills except the Giants in SB XXV)that Redskins team was one for the ages. Oddly enough, a Bills/ Lions Super Bowl was possible that year , as Detroit and Washington squared off in the Title tilt. Is this the year that matchup actually happens ?

I don’t like putting Shakir in harms way so much because of his value to the offense. I do feel that he is more sure handed, though Codrington has a great burst. He just makes me a little nervous with the way he carries the ball.

You are correct. Wolford was one of the first NFL players signed away as a free agent by another team. When FA was new , it was apparent that it would be the end of the Super Bowl era Bills. So many good players and no way to pay them all with the cap.

I believe you have to look at replacing the HC if the Bills fail to reach the AFC title game. ( I think they find a way to beat the Ravens in OP, but maybe that’s just my fandom). Is it really about 2 home playoff games or is it about the success it takes on the field to get those games? I’d say it’s the latter. If you replace McD, it has to be with a HC that’s proven - ie led a team to a SB win. Is that guy available-Belichick ( buyout?) Gruden ? Who is there? Many hotshot coordinators have failed as HC’s. It’s a different job.
