I have acknowledged where Allen needs to improve. You have confirmation bias and it is shown by how you pooh pooh the majority of moves made by the organization. I have taken grad level statistics classes and have asked you on several occasions questions about the data sets you look at for your pronouncements. Things like observer variance among others. You refuse to answer , much like you have here with confirmation bias. I think that's because you really don't understand stats, and cherry pick things and use your own observational bias to get the negative result you seek.

I can say if he was being driven by pride he would not have stood up and admitted he didn't like the result, and that starting Taylor the next week is likewise evidence of pride not driving decisions.

You may have used a different word than consumed but you said pride affected his decisions. It's one thing to have different opinions; we can debate those honestly. But when you refuse to own your own words as you do that's another matter entirely. And Shaw already explained snap count differences between offense and defense but you just ignore things that show the error of your thoughts.

Dareus simply did not want to step up. And thus got traded. in your company or whomever you work for, is it your policy to have your highest paid employee be the one that flaunts the rules and becomes a problem, or do you expect your highest paid employee to be one of your leaders? And Lynch and his agent told Buddy he would not resign after they drafted Spiller. That is reality. As I have said before a opinions are fine but should have some basis in fact and logic.

So when a guy can't show up to a bus on time, that's everyone else's fault. When they got back there were pictures of Dareus on the practice field with McD talking to him, trying to reach him. It is crap about folks not trying to help Dareus when he was a Bill. Different coaching staffs tried to help him out , tried to motivate him after the big contract. They couldn't get through to him, or he wouldn't allow people to get through to him. That's a tough one, and if Brown used it the way you say that's flat out wrong. But there is simply no denying that, after he signed his big contract, Dareus was not and has not been the same player. And you just can't have your highest paid guy not putting out effort. You look at the true stars, guys like a Bird or Jordan or Gretzky or whomever, they practiced harder than anyone, worked harder than anyone, held their teammates accountable to that level of commitment. McD wants guys like that. What coach wouldn't.

So McD came into the job thinking his own background wasn't impressive. You have got to be either joking or high on something.

After trading Dareus and Watkins and after Gilmore leaving the Bills made the playoffs. And by the way when a guy signs with another team in free agency you are not letting them go. Hockey I hope Krueger brings the same kind of approach as McD. Set clear expectations, be willing to communicate expectations, and so on.

You don't know what might have been going on in the locker room. None of us do.

The stuff about Dareus, Watkins, etc. kind of comes down to whether you are more on the side of the player or the coach in terms of how you see a team should be run. To some here (who should be obvious) the players should be coddled, the coach should acquiesce to whatever the player wants. It's on the coach to deal with recalcitrant guys and not the other way around. Count me firmly on the coach side of this equation. McD tried to get guys like Dareus especially to buy in, and when he didn't he let him go. Sammy himself has been quoted about how bad his attitude was while here. Beane and McD have a specific idea about how successful teams are constructed, and they are going to follow that plan. I don't know if they will ultimately be successful, but I am glad they are holding players accountable. What is it that Belichick preaches, his one thing he tells his players constantly? Do your job. Essentially that is what McD is doing.

We'll see. I love having Gore around; I can't imagine how useful he'll be imparting wisdom to Allen, and the other young guys. I wonder if they'd keep all 4 RBs and cut DiMarco?

Someone might throw out a lower round pick. It will depend on injuries, etc. that always happen in the pre-season.

If you look at the contracts for a lot of the FAs they signed this offseason they are short term deals, if I recall correctly. Makes a lot of sense; see which guys perform and then extend them, let the other guys go. I hope they are thinking about extending Poyer and Hyde.

Given the fall off seen in Dareus' play, why do you think it was a bad decision? Got rid of a guy with issues, cleared cap space. Also, what do you see as good decisions made by the current regime?

GMs all make mistakes. HCs all make mistakes. Rookie QBs make mistakes. But many fans think they should never make one, and that growth into a position is unacceptable. That's not the way the world works. You make mistakes and those with integrity admit them, try to learn from them and work hard to not make another one. Bill Polian I think once said a GM is really successful if 50% of his draft picks wind up making the roster.

He didn't say that was a mistake. I believe he said not bringing another veteran in like Anderson was a mistake. Trading McCarron was understandable; Peterman beat him out in camp. Plus McCarron fractured his leg, didn't he. And yes, it is refreshing to see the GM admit a mistake publicly and no, it doesn't excuse it. Playing Peterman as often as they did was wrong. And I don't think anyone would disagree.

O'Beien seems to be a decent HC. But it also seems like he can't work with a GM.

Grow up? Try again junior. If you look at what McD and Beane want to do in constructing a team it was unquestionably correct. Again, your highest paid guy can't be your biggest problem child. And McD tried to get through to him as pointed out above. He would not get with the program so they traded him. And he has about ten more combined tackles and 1 more sack than Star last year. We did not lose much; both guys are looked at more as guys who take on multiple blocks and tie things up for other guys to make plays. You are stuck in a time warp where Dareus was the guy that had an AllPro year before his big contract. He wasn't that guy under McD, he isn't that guy now in Jville.
