absolutely. pettine had a plan that completely shut the bills down, not that it's terribly hard to figure out right now. allen was bad. really bad, but in now way should it be indicative of his entire career...or at least i hope. rich gannon always comes to mind when i think of late bloomers. he was in his 30s if i remember correctly when he really came on. even won the mvp when he was with the raiders during that stretch.

really? all i've seen over the last 48 hours is adult outrage. i completely understand that it's expected after a loss, and i'm not referring to a rational discussion as to why this is happening. i'm referring to posters just "knowing" that allen will never be good. meatheads coming up with mcclappity and mcdumbass, and virtually high fiving over it. posters calling for the firings of the staff, etc. there's a ton if it right now. most of it's entertaining, but there's some who really think that way. for years as bills fans we've heard fans screaming for a tear down and rebuild of this team so we didn't have to endure another 7-9 season. well...now we have it, and the very people calling for it are the ones who can't handle it. discuss away.

i guess this is the difference of opinion. i don't think he came unglued at all. it's not that things got worse as time went on...they just weren't good from the get go. not that's a positive in any way, but it was evident he was trying too hard, and in the process making some big mistaken. he absolutely does need to be more consistent. from day one i really felt this season was to see if allen can show that. i have no idea if he can. sorry for the not waiting comment. i think i was mixed up in a couple of different comments.

he doesn't have it easy this year, but i'm fine with that. before coming into this season, i think most of us realized 2 things: it was going to be a very down year, and that allen was going to take time to develop. literally almost everyone predicted this, and now that it's happening, people are outraged.

Superstitious About Who You Watch The Bills With?
teef replied to All_Pro_Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i watched the game by myself while doing paper work, so i think i'm screwed. -
for the 1000th time, i said his play wasn't good yesterday. the entire team was historically bad. i don't think the team was bad because of allen, but he didn't help elevate them either. if you want to use yesterday's game as to who allen will be in the future, go ahead. as i've said, i think we're going to seem some vikings games good, and some green bay bad. he just needs to limit mistakes and develop. if you don't want to wait to see if that happens, i'm not sure what to tell you.

in another post, this was your comment: "Josh Allen will never be good. Bills better use their high pick next year to take a real QB prospect." do you see how this is conflicting? you say he needs to get better, but that he'll never be good.
-
well...he must have shown some promise in college so he never would have been considered such a high pick. i don't say that to defend him, but that he's shown zero ability to grow mentally is just absurd. can you quantify that? i just don't get why people are acting like a rookie who has played 3 games should be super far along. i bet last week you saw some progression, didn't you. well, we'll see some games like that, and some games like yesterday.
-
i know it's just a matter of opinion at this point, but i never thought allen lost composure. he just didn't play well. he's actually always looked together to me, he just hasn't played well at times. to me there's a difference between losing composure, and trying to do to much. he tried to do to much, and his skills and team just aren't there yet.

I told you that if you ever need someone to listen to you, I’m here. There’s no reason to act like this in the internet for the sake of being noticed.
-
Fading...we know how you feel about him. You and a few other posters have him pegged as a day one bust, and so be it. Every time you see a poor performance from this rookie, these types of posts will come out. I dont think hunk he lost poise at all. He just wasn’t good. As others have mentioned, he makes big mistakes when he tries to carry the team, and the game needs to slow down. It’s going to take time. I’m more shocked about the general idea that some fans are expecting high end qb play now. His development is going to take time. We all knew it. Now we just have to hear the whining until or if it happens.
-
He’s in need of attention. Responding was kind of you.
-
You know it was killing him inside.
-
good for you! does this make you happy?
-
i thought you just said he would never be able to this?
-
can you call and tell someone? i get this kind of response. it's easy. just call the kid a bust, and every time a bad game comes up, you can scream i told you so. but you have it easy on the other end too! if he develops into a good starter, you can just let us know how glad you are too be wrong! it get it.

It could be worse; Frank Reich could be the Bills coach
teef replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you do? that's what were dealing with here. -
i got this!
-
some people have a hard time realizing what's actually discussion vs pooping in every thread with the same meathead, angry comment. i didn't like the allen pick, but since he's a bill, i'm pulling for him every step of the way. other will go out of their way to bag on this kid for the exact reason you stated. we all knew there was going to be a group that doesn't have the ability to be patient to see if a qb develops. !@#$ em.
-
i think we all more or less saw the same thing, but we're just labeling it differently. josh wasn't good, from many faults of his, and many, many faults of the team. that's ok for now, but this staff is definitely going to have to be mega proactive this off season on how they want to help him out.
-
i don't think jp ever really look rattled either. he look more clueless to me...like there was nothing going on behind those eyes. trent was more the rattled type.
-
3-5 could work. just depends if the slightly competent bills show up, or versions of games 1,2 and 4 show up.
-
that's a clear sign of being inexperienced. he needs time to learn to see the field. rattled is if he was looking panicked or clueless. again, he didn't play well, but to me he just didn't seemed rattled.
-
exactly. not in the least. he didn't play well, but it looked like he was dealing with the awfulness.
