Our family member with parkisons who wasn’t having a good morning so they didn’t think he could come. He took he’s meds and had a better afternoon, so the family came. We also had three other people show up who had no where to go. Just about 30 people total, and we get everyone at one big table. Winners win. And this thread turned into exactly what I was talking about. Nicely done.

It affected my life too. I build a brand new building with massive bills coming in, and my business was shut down for almost 3 months. No production at all. New building, new home, and a 2 and 5 year old at home with me all day. Wanna talk about stress? It happens. I lost quite a bit of money due to politics, but here we are. The Covid thing was such a left field occurrence that screwed us all. It completely divided the country politically, turned the dumbest of people into scientists, false news, hoax, etc. politics wasn’t going to help so we pick up and move on. You are correct though. Covid was the one issue that really did directly affect us, but what a wild situation. I’m beyond it while some aren’t , but I wouldn’t blame any of my success or failures going forward on politics.

This was the point. There’s a discussion to have no doubt, but that’s not who nursesclothing is. He’s not concerned about the underlying politics here, it really is outrage for the sake of it. I would believe different if the guy was able to have an actual discussion, but with all of his posts, I have yet to see him have one.

You’re too young of a man to have this kind of angst over this *****. I really do agree with what you’re saying for what it’s worth. You’re not wrong. Have mistakes been made in the past? Of course but we’re onto a new presidency, and outside of the deportations, it’s been a disaster. You want there’s concerns fixed, fit in now. The continual blame and the need for blame is childish. That’s all this thread is. and for what it’s worth, I think politics plays far less of a role in your life that you think it does. I’ve been voting for 30 years, and no sitting president has had a major effect in my life. Some times have been better than others, but my life has been driven by my decisions and not politics. People who use administrations to place blame in their personal issues are lost. Politics are entertaining discussion, but he op isn’t here for that. At all. edit:when I said it wasn’t political, I meant for the op, not the topic.

There’s political and there a constant need to place blame. Two very different things. And we are not Europe. Our immigration problem has been mainly from the south and had been dealt with in a manner so far. the op isn’t here to discuss immigration, he’s here to place blame. I don’t want the us pull what England is doing; but that’s not the ops point at all. Read his material.

sorry tb...we had to put our 14 year old lab down in the spring and then my 19 year old cat died a few months later. you didn't fail anyone. you have them the best life possible, and you were there until the end. i'm still thrown off in the morning by not having them as part of my routine. i even still glance over in my office to see if my cat is where he always sat. to be honest, i still miss them every day, but i take comfort in the fact they led wonderful lives and received tons of love.

Documenting The Imaginary Fairytale of ANTIFA
teef replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
you have to admit it's amusing. bman posts a story that nursesclothing thought was fantastic. 19 hours later, nursesclothing posts the exact same story. do you even read this stuff or are you just on automatic at this point? -
thanksgiving turkey is the business. i'm all into the deep fry method for the flavor. i don't typically like deli turkey though. something about it always being wet doesn't do it for me.

Commie Mamdani To Meet Orange Hitler At White House
teef replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
i don't watch cnn, but cnn, msnbc, fox...they're all infotainment to me. there's some news in there, but with an obvious bias. if someone is screaming at you, it's not news. -

it's someone's opinion, so it's not a matter of right or wrong really. i just don't understand how someone who claims no one is getting the "real" news reports this as actual news. it's not. -

i don't think that the teachers suck so much as the game has changed when it comes to education. if they can't get the backing of parents or certain admin, what's the point. my wife is a school psych, and a lot of her coworkers are great teacher, who legit care about the kids. Whether or not they can teach they way they want is the question for me. even years ago we'd see teachers hang on because of the ease of the job and money. my wife has an aunt that i think taught kindergarten or first grade, and was making around 100k a year. She just lingered around because why not? now we see nys teachers bailing the moment they hit their 30 years. not just retiring, but running in the other direction, with no desire to even sub. add in the lowered retirement tier system in ny, and it will make young kids think about going into teaching.
