There’s almost nothing I understand less than signing a guy to play football (at this level) who hasn’t played before. There are prob 2k fringe NFL level players that are available that have a lifetime of football experience…..this is a move you make in a lower tier league. I just hate doing stuff like this. What’s the best case scenario? Just a waste of a roster spot.

coach: Chan Gailey. It was the only time I thought about not renewing my Sunday ticket. The guy was the dumbest hire I can ever remember. Nobody anywhere would have hired this guy as a HC. He never even tried to care about defense. His offense was figured out immediately after that 5-2 start and he never changed a single thing. He was the most useless waste of time imaginable. Player: EJ. Way overdrafted, Horrible player, his best games were his first 2. Never learned, never improved, zero positives and wasted good roster.

Caleb Williams is off to a rough rookie start
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not sure how it’s even possible but the bears haven’t had a really good QB in the last like 60 years. To the point where I just assume this guy will let down lol -
Chiefs Bills Playoff Replay / Bass Kicking
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bass completely lost it later on in the season. Every kick he made was violently breaking right. You could see the guy wasn’t the same and I went from knowing he was going to make it, to not wanting him to be kicking for us. I knew we lost as soon as we didn’t score a TD on that drive because that guy was cooked. -
Micah Hyde and safety depth discussion

I have sort of all along expected to see Hyde come back. Maybe he’s decided wether he really wants to play or not -
Detroit and SF WRs are incredible. St Brown is so much better than anything we have. Then you have the Bengals which have completely shred us. You are constantly losing to KC who at one time was unstoppable because they had Hill and Kelce. Almost on purpose trying to not have good WRs is senseless. It benefited nobody. You should be trying to be as good as you can. Especially with rookie wage restrictions. We should have gone up and gotten 1 if not 2 top end WRs. I’m not saying we are going to be bad, but replacing a top WR in franchise history with nobody is not going to be a smart idea.

Deion Jones signed to 1-year deal per Schefter

Oh I really like that -
Jacksonville releases Zay Jones. Homecoming?

At this point I’m not turning down guys that can start. We have borderline nothing at WR right now. -
Did we do enough at wide receiver?
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to Meatloaf63's topic in The Stadium Wall
What we have today? Not even close. People were asking for weapons when we only had Diggs and Davis. Now not only did we not bring in anyone top end, we lost those guys. I can’t believe we didn’t take WRs in 2 of the first 3 rounds. I hope this team knows what they are doing because on paper WR are inexcusably bad at WR. -
It’s all sort of funny and joking around but what’s going to happen is Allen is going to start to get pissed off. Then nobody is going to be laughing. There better be a real move for a WR coming or this is going to be a rough season. Look at what Miami does to help out their mid QB…Don’t be the team that pisses off a generational talent because you are too stubborn to go get a real WR.

I was willing to be patient after the Diggs trade and gave these guys the benefit of the doubt. I expected us ti move way up and take one of the top guys. I also expected us to trade for Ayuk or Samuel….now we are through that and what we have is nowhere good enough. You can’t go into a season with Allen in his prime and these weapons at WR. It’s inexcusable. This list of WRs is nowhere near comforting but the only was this off-season isn’t a total failure is OBJ or Thomas. None of those other guys are even better than what we already have. I’d still like to explore that 49ers trade but I’m assuming that ship has sailed.

Rd 7, Pick 221: OT Travis Clayton
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t want a guy that has never played football before. I often wonder how a guy like that can even get considered. Regardless, if you insist on getting an outside the box guy like that…a freak athlete that is huge and can run…don’t waste him on the Oline. Make him a FB/Hback or TE. Do something with him that uses that unique skill set. Don’t take a guy that’s impossible to tackle and put him on the Oline. -
Rd 4, Pick 128: RB Ray Davis, Kentucky
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
No lol you just took this guy in round 4. He’s a top 5 ish RB in this draft…Ty Johnson will be a STs guy again -
Rd 4, Pick 128: RB Ray Davis, Kentucky
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
That would be amazing I sort of like what I see here -

For those that don’t like the Coleman pick
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to whorlnut's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would have been smart to go get the guy that was first on his wish list … -
I have no idea if this guy is going to be a good WR. I have seen very little of him. I just feel like we didn’t do anywhere near enough at WR. I don’t want to even attempt to fix this today. These rounds are not where you find suitable replacements. Can you get lucky? Yes. Nothing in this league is a give. And I’m not interested in just writing years off. We lost the best/2nd best WR in teen history and Davis and replaced them with basically nothing. It’s not enough. I fully expect led us to move way up and get one of the true studs here or trade for an Ayuk/Samuel. This isn’t good enough enough now and I fear it’s too late to make a move that will change that.

Rd 2, Pick 33: WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
Brianmoorman4jesus replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like Beane has the complete opposite opinion on this guys skill set then the shouting report. Guy is raving about his release -
You go up into the top 5 and get Harrison and tbh, idgaf what we have up. Short of trading Josh Allen idc. You aren’t planning on picking early, the draft is a crapshoot and you aren’t going to worry about it 5 mins after the pick. Just go up and make it happen and live with Tue consequences. We are trying to finally win one of these things.

Samuel is by far the best guy we have right now, which isn’t saying much. I assume we take a guy round 1. Probably even move way up to get one of the 2 best guys. Then take another guy round 2 or 3. Then it will be Rd1 rookie Samuel Shakir Rd 2/3 rookie 1 of the other fringe guys currently on the roster Thats what we will have at WR. Plus you have to figure Kinkaid is basically the number 2 option in the passing game. And the way Brady was last year, the RBs are going to get a ton of targets. I’d like to see a veteran brought in on a prove it deal. Micheal Thomas or Obj but I’m starting to feel like that is a big ask financially. Also a trade for a real #1/1a would be nice but again, the money might not be there. I’m starting to think like we take 2 guys early and trust our guys to develop.
