Labatt Beer to Issue "Goodbye Ralph" Beer
Ridgewaycynic2013 replied to Bob Lamb's topic in Off the Wall
The 'green death' name was apparently first used by New Englanders to describe Heffenreffer beer, but the name was happily coopted by WNYers to describe Genesee's ale...and its effect on drinkers. * During a few strikes in the seventies and eighties, Brewers Retail (now the Beer Store) closed, and LCBOs were allowed to import large amounts of cheap beer from the U.S. In the Niagara Peninsula, we seemed to get a lot of Blatz beer, which my brother described as the beer named after the sounds made the following morning after drinking it. -
Labatt Beer to Issue "Goodbye Ralph" Beer
Ridgewaycynic2013 replied to Bob Lamb's topic in Off the Wall
I think referencing Genesee Cream Ale, aka 'the green death'. Before Labatt became ubiquitous in WNY, Genesee was the frugal beer of choice. -
Takes a bit of perseverance on the viewer's part, but you'll get to the definitive pronunciation. ๐

Asante Samuel (Sr) speaks out on the Dolphins...

He must have ice water in his veins...he wishes it was colder. ๐ค * This reminds of when Joannie Cunningham dreamed that Potsie was her boyfriend, and was a real man's man. ๐ -
Oops. Sorry. Thought it was a Sabres thread.

Oh, just relating an interesting coincidence from yesterday. Cycling through AM radio in the car, turn on WGR for the first time in three weeks. Mike Schopp talking about Lamar. ๐ I turn radio off. ๐ -

Coming this Fall - The 2025 defense
Ridgewaycynic2013 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read the thread title, and figured that it was misfiled from PP&P. * According to the PR flak, defense is hungry. On offense, "everybody eats". Better not let Lunch Lady Gettleman catch wind of this. Training table meals are costly, and must be rigidly policed. ๐คจ -

Bills/Ravens/Eagles Super Bowl Favorites

I cannot take credit for it. That particular picture has been kicking around the internet for at least a couple of years. I haven't searched too deeply, but I don't know of any photoshopped pictures of referees in any other team colours than KC. Coincidence? I doubt it. ๐ค๐คจ -
What do you think Ralph Wilson would think of these Bills?
Ridgewaycynic2013 replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
A couple of hypothetical responses / reactions from Mr. Wilson: "Third uniform?! Do they think I am made of money? Fine, but players are responsible for washing them." "FLY?! There's no reason we can't rent a couple of Cottrell's school buses for Cleveland, Pittsburgh, the New Jersey teams, and Philly. Check the train schedules for Boston." We greatly exaggerate his thriftiness for a laugh. How many of the clowns owning teams now would you trust with the Bills? -

It's almost a shame that Tammy Faye Bakker went on to her eternal reward a few years back. Her tearful entreaties on behalf of the good people of Atlanta might just have brought a well deserved third NHL franchise to the city. ๐๐คจ
