  1. I have to say a tongue-in-cheek commercial where they say “what can you do with 13 seconds?” and cut to Allen giving a death stare could be funny.
  2. I just hope he seems like himself in his big commercials. (They’re coming.) Rodgers and Mahomes come off like douchecanoes.
  3. Just going off the stat sheet, Jarran Reed & Melvin Ingram each registered a sack. Ed Oliver was our only d-lineman to register a sack. (Taron Johnson had one, too.) Mahomes had slightly better rushing stats (higher ypa & a TD) than Allen, but the expectation was Allen would fare better there. Regardless, I do not agree with a line of thinking that the Chiefs d-line did not stop Allen this game, so we should not seek to sack Mahomes more often. I want to have Allen play at that level and bring Mahomes down. Yes, we got pressure. That’s kind of my point. Pressure alone on either QB is not enough. You need to bring them down or else they will extend the play and make you pay. Obviously game-changing DEs do not grow on trees. Neither do Allen/Mahomes-type QBs. But you move heaven and earth to get both because after QB, DE is as important as any other position. I’m not saying I expect it to happen or happen easily, but OBD still has to make it a top priority - which, hats off to Beane for drafting Epenesa, Rousseau, & Basham and going after the likes of JJ Watt & Von Miller. The cap does not scare me. Look at the Chiefs roster. They make it work. So can we. Beane is a wizard after all. My ultimate point, I think, is I hope the fact that is difficult to get a top-tier pass rusher does not deter OBD from trying to do so. This.
  4. I somewhat agree in that people should come away from that game more encouraged about the Bills than not given they showed they are in the elite tier. But I think the fact our defensive linemen failed to get home and get the sack despite regularly getting close and applying pressure, regardless of how much escapability Mahomes may have, really goes to underscore how much a game breaking elite pass rusher could have helped make a difference in that game.
  5. Anyone else having connection issues or is it just my work internet that sucks?
  6. Favored significantly vs Bengals. Coin toss (too soon?) vs Rams. Either way we would have shown we can go toe-to-toe with and beat the Chiefs, so there would be a good chance we could win our next 2. Allen would likely be seen as the best remaining QB. I’m not sure any rational fan would think winning the AFCCG & SB is a breeze. Especially for a team that lost to the Jags.
  7. “How much candy cap space do we have for McKenzie next year?”
  8. Yeah it’s not like our ST were a source of confidence or stability this year. Had to hold our collective breath most punts - both hoping our punter wasn’t blocked and that our returner wouldn’t muff it.
  9. He joined them at the breakfast table. An anagram for “breakfast table” is “break table fast”.
  10. I said the same thing as OP - why rush anyone? Give Mahomes all the time in the world, play coverage, mug Hill/Kelce, double the other, & keep it in front of you. Regardless, definitely do not rush four.
  11. That or maybe GB would take Wentz in return to bridge/backup Love? Not sure how much cap hit can be transferred to GB.
  12. They were discussing that on WGR this morning and made a similar point. They also said IND would be the clear #2 spot. I agree and think he could similarly own the AFC South. TEN, HOU, and JAX could very well be worse than MIN, CHI, and DET, next year after regression to the mean. Plus, working with Reich, the Indy O-line, and Taylor could be enticing.
  13. Oh me too. But it seems the more likely landing spots are in the AFC. If NFC, maybe CAR, NO, NYG, or WFT. Then again SEA and/or TB could have openings, too...
  14. I think if he leaves GB then Rodgers ends up in IND, PIT, or DEN, in that order of likelihood.
  15. Well, the year the Saints won the Super Bowl, the Bills did not.
  16. I dunno, I bet they get a new one
  17. I do not think it is the only way to go, as I do think a 4-3 scheme can work. BUT, like it or not there are more pass catchers on the field than ever, so more DBs and LBs are going to be on the field anyways. I wonder if you can keep McDermott's general defensive scheme while still going 3-4.
  18. Not reading too much into it. We all thought he would be gone this season. Reads just as much a "thanks for making this season amazing" as it does "thanks for the memories".
  19. It is, but still gotta try. Mack, Ingram, & Ngakoue were all traded recently.
  20. I dunno, I find the the chart interesting because it shows how back & forth and close the game was.
  21. Asking the tough questions! No one in mind yet, but players become available during the off-season. I need to do more research on scheme fit. I would think we could make a deal with a team that has cap issues/is rebuilding, a player whose contract is up after next season, or both.
  22. … to trade the pick for a premier pass rusher
  23. Never said I like him, just wanted to know your reasoning. Would have been cool w/ Humphrey too, but not against continuing to load the defensive line. Basham was pretty productive in college and flashed this year so I’m hoping he can continue to grow into his role alongside Obada, Epenesa, & Rousseau.
  24. Wait so what don’t you like about Basham?
