I said the same thing as OP - why rush anyone? Give Mahomes all the time in the world, play coverage, mug Hill/Kelce, double the other, & keep it in front of you. Regardless, definitely do not rush four.

They were discussing that on WGR this morning and made a similar point. They also said IND would be the clear #2 spot. I agree and think he could similarly own the AFC South. TEN, HOU, and JAX could very well be worse than MIN, CHI, and DET, next year after regression to the mean. Plus, working with Reich, the Indy O-line, and Taylor could be enticing.

Oh me too. But it seems the more likely landing spots are in the AFC. If NFC, maybe CAR, NO, NYG, or WFT. Then again SEA and/or TB could have openings, too...

I think if he leaves GB then Rodgers ends up in IND, PIT, or DEN, in that order of likelihood.

I do not think it is the only way to go, as I do think a 4-3 scheme can work. BUT, like it or not there are more pass catchers on the field than ever, so more DBs and LBs are going to be on the field anyways. I wonder if you can keep McDermott's general defensive scheme while still going 3-4.

Not reading too much into it. We all thought he would be gone this season. Reads just as much a "thanks for making this season amazing" as it does "thanks for the memories".

Asking the tough questions! No one in mind yet, but players become available during the off-season. I need to do more research on scheme fit. I would think we could make a deal with a team that has cap issues/is rebuilding, a player whose contract is up after next season, or both.

Basham was pretty productive in college and flashed this year so I’m hoping he can continue to grow into his role alongside Obada, Epenesa, & Rousseau.

A couple of those were awful. Our DBs just had a hand on the WR’s hip with no jersey grabbing which is 100% allowed.

We definitely don’t suck on defense though. To me it’s coaching not personnel.

I hear you, but it’s not like KC’s defense played way better than ours. Thirteen seconds is handled differently or the coin lands on the other side and we’re talking about how our D did just enough to keep us in the game. I will say for the investments made, our defensive line should be generating more sacks. I was going to say pressure, but you can pressure Mahomes for 8-9 seconds and he will still make a play at the end. Need sacks.
