  1. Agree with this to a point. I think it’s an unholy marriage between the rely-on-rushing-4 scheme and 4-who-can’t-rush talent.
  2. Before the game I felt of all the outcomes Buffalo getting blown out was least likely. I was wrong. Both lines need serious retooling and reinvestment. Even without Miller and Jones who are admittedly significant losses, our 9th overall pick DT, 30th overall pick DE, 54th overall pick DE, and 61st overall pick DE got owned by a back-up offensive line. Anyone with eyes saw Allen running for his life. Both are not problems that popped up in this game, but instead long-term issues. People I’m not the least bit worried about: Beane, Allen, Cook, Hines, Diggs, Davis (so long as he’s viewed as a WR3), Knox, Dawkins, Miller, Jones, Milano, Johnson, Elam, STers. Our defensive scheme is inadequate. We lost Hyde and Miller, yes, but good coaches modify their schemes and get a Purdy-led offense into the Conference Championship. It comes down to philosophy. We need to be varied enough that we can go heavy man and jam WRs at times. Thing is it wasn’t just scheme. We often tackled poorly. While writing this I’ve come to the conclusion the worst marriage by far for the Bills is the rush-4-to-get-home scheme with repeated whiffs on high defensive line picks. We’re playing a scheme relying on talent we don’t have. It would have been nice for whoever is truly running the defense to rush 3 more yesterday. If 4 weren’t getting home then at least give coverage some help. Let Burrow try to run on you in the snow. This may be a situation where we need turnover at one or both coordinator positions but it doesn’t happen. I do wonder like others if Frazier getting fired changes much in the defensive philosophy/scheme anyways. It’s tough to look at the offense’s year-long production and say fire the rookie OC because he did a lot of great things and Allen evidently likes him. But it would be tough to pass up a Reich. The 24 Hour Rule should change to a 1 Week Rule for Playoff Losses. At the end of the day we are going into next year with Allen, Diggs, Milano, and Miller. We’ll be back in the playoffs. Hopefully we are a little healthier next year and grab that 1 seed. GO BILLS!
  3. By “that” do you mean hitting Davis in the hands/arms?
  4. What I saw was it hit Gabe’s hands/arms then the defender’s hand knocked it away. He could, and probably should, have caught it.
  5. Allen should try clapping. Seems to fix all McDermott’s problems.

  7. May have to break out the worn out red Moulds jersey Sunday
  8. Agreed. Also imo Jones would be a more significant loss than Phillips. He’s been really solid for us and pairs better with Oliver.
  9. I was more implying OC-in-waiting regardless of title That’s a fair take. Just not sure Lamar has so much sway there. I hope so though. He’s fun to watch as a Raven and I’d love to see him with better weapons there.
  10. I’m wondering if he wouldn’t be able to do similarly creative gameplans for Allen that would take advantage of his dual threat capability. I recall Roman’s offense here was run centered, but allowed Taylor a decent amount of deep ball success. The new Joe Brady?
  11. To me this makes a long-term Lamar deal less likely. Edit: Is he too run heavy to be a Dorsey replacement candidate?
  12. From eyeball test I think both have been equally underwhelming applying pressure. Really the whole defensive line after we lost Miller. Hoping we rush 3 a good amount this week.
  13. I think he comes back. Mutually beneficial. We’ll move things around to get him his deserved payday. He’ll continue to be a beast and help bring along a replacement for a couple years.
  14. Guess we can put the Allen vs. Burrow debate to bed: https://www.wivb.com/bills-mafia-buffalo-fans/josh-allen-pregame-style-outfit-hoodie-joe-burrow?utm_source=wivb_app&utm_medium=social&utm_content=share-link Title: “Josh Allen says he can’t compete with Joe Burrow’s style”
  15. Ok but you ignored the part I put in bold where you say Allen’s only trait better than Burrow is his rushing, which also implies both can throw it a mile. Not even really arguing with your point (to me they are both elite passers so Allen’s running ability makes him an overall slightly bigger threat at QB), just pointing out what you’re saying has been self-contradictory.
  16. 22 hours ago in this thread you said, and I quote (because I have permission to feel free to do so): “I think Josh is an awesome player and would never say he is overrated even tho his only trait that he has over Burrow is rushing (he can throw it a mile).” The logic of that quote implies Allen’s arm and passing ability are equal to or below that of Burrow.
  17. Yep. If you blitz him, then you better hope it’s a play action or deep drop back where someone gets home before he’s had the chance to look downfield or someone gets a hand up.
  18. Haven’t read the 6 pages, but if there’s a side that draws a distinction between respect and acknowledgment of talent, then I’m on it. Former, no. Latter, yes.
  19. Jooooooooe Brady come on down! You are the next contestant on the BILLS! O! C!
  20. I realize Hackett was just a HC, but kind of crazy he’s still in the mix for OC jobs when Marrone is coaching OL in NO.
  21. Never goes well when you put more judgment calls in human refs’ hands. I like the shot clock idea. It’s fair. Side note I traveled to New Zealand and was told that is how the speed limit works there. No leeway. Almost like it’s a law.
