  1. Heard they threw a contract at him and he just couldn’t bat it down
  2. Funny it’s reported as a splash signing when so many were calling for splash plays from him
  3. White is a solid QB whose accuracy could be a good match to Hill and Waddle. Good signing.
  4. His Draft Profile: Reliable run blocker with NFL-ready size and strength but exploitable holes in his pass sets that need to be addressed as quickly as possible. His starting experience at both center and guard could bring additional interest in McGovern, who would be a bigger, stronger option at center for teams facing odd-front power in their division. He is a good fit in gap and inside-zone run schemes, but his tendency to over-set in pass protection could be challenging to correct. He's an early starter as a Day 2 pick, but Year 1 could have ups and downs.
  5. Jeudy has 2 years left on his rookie deal so he would be cost controlled that long at most. A 1st round WR would have 5 cost controlled years, so that’s better contractual value. How much better is Jeudy than the best WR likely to be available at 27? It would have to be a certain, significant gap to make sense for me. Put another way, is Jeudy at the level Diggs was at when we acquired him? We would be essentially redoing that trade.
  6. My offer would be we pay you money and in exchange you play football for our team.
  7. Taking Downs after Flowers smells similar to Elam after McDuffie
  8. This is what I do in Madden all the time. (It’s Madden, I get it, but the offensive philosophy applies in real football.) Allen flanked by Cook and Hines in the backfield. Usually call an RPO or play action and put someone in motion presnap. Too many weapons and moving pieces to key in on while still defending Allen’s running threat.
  9. Kind of goes back to the issue of proposing to move Dawkins to OG. Convincing a guy to play a different position that pays significantly less money is a tough sell.
  10. Cap cost sure. Draft capital no.
  11. If you think a guy is your franchise QB, then you move heaven and earth to get him. Now the Panthers just has to make sure they don’t miss. But WOW - Bears made off with an absolute haul! Should be interesting to see what Fields does next year.
  12. Would love Mattison but feel he has earned a look as a true HB1.
  13. NFL Draft Profile: Power back with bruising frame who fits the football cliche of “tough, smart and dependable.” Johnson isn’t overly creative and lacks the juice to hit quick-closing NFL holes. He needs it blocked up so he can get downhill and uncork his power on the second level. While his lack of suddenness makes him somewhat limited as a runner, he will be better at stuffing blitzers than many of the No. 3 backs currently in the league. Johnson might be fighting off competition every year in camp, but his toughness and four-phase special teams value could give him an advantage. Certainly sounds like what McBeane would be looking for in a HB3. Goal line, blocking, and ST.
  14. SF gonna continue being stacked for a while. They get, or Lance/Purdy prove to be, a top 5-10 QB and look out…
  15. Davis is better than one would think if they only read this board and did show flashes of WR1 ability. You can’t watch his KC playoff game performance and say otherwise. Distinction being he of course did not regularly show that ability. He regularly showed to be anywhere from a top WR2 to top WR3. We need 3 starting quality WRs and currently have 2 in Diggs and Davis. Getting rid of one would really have to be worth it to create that hole.
  16. Old? Check. Slow? Check. Lets do this thing!
  17. - Tell me, what do you do with witches? - Burn them! - And what do you burn, apart from witches? - More witches! - Wood! - So why do witches burn? - 'Cause they're made of wood? - Good! - How do we tell if she is made of wood? - Build a bridge out of her. - But can you not also make bridges out of stone? - Oh, yeah. - Does wood sink in water? - No, it floats. - Throw her into the pond! - What also floats in water? - Bread. - Apples. - Very small rocks. - Cider! Great gravy. - Cherries. Mud. - Churches. - Lead. - A duck! - Exactly. - So, logically-- - If she weighs the same as a duck... - she's made of wood. - And therefore? - A witch!
  18. I wonder how many of those assets from the top listed teams goes to acquiring QBs.
  19. Beane better get Arthur Moats on the phone.
  20. To me, looks like he has incredible route running skills and separation ability, and wins some contested catches.
  21. Definitely not a burner. 4.5 is probably accurate. That’s OK by me. Fast enough. Might get caught from behind once in a while, but it’s his route running and ability to make would-be tacklers miss that would have me elated with JSN at 27. I’m not saying he’s at Diggs’ level, but I think he’s as close to a Diggs clone as you can get in this draft.
  22. Some foods make my Boettger. Anyways, congrats Ike. I’m sure you’re reading this.
