So many comments, positive and negative, about Harris’ value… but do we have contract details? Seems like that info would be kind of necessary to make such comments…
-
Right? YAC can be Yards After Catch or Yards After Contact, and he seems able to rack up the latter. Also, great username.

I’m hoping he can be used sparingly enough throughout the season that we can unleash him fully December onward. Turn Cook and Hines loose all game then bring in Harris in the 4th quarter fresh.

- The 2 backs are close in overall talent level, but Singletary is by no means the far superior player; - Harris will get more than exactly what is blocked too just he gets it by carrying multiple defenders downfield as opposed to Singletary’s decent elusiveness; - Singletary is kind of redundant here while Harris’ skill set is a much better complement to Cook and Hines; and - While clearly not a top back in the league, rarely is someone who scored 15 TDs in a year JAG. (I am hoping the delay in release of contract details means the Bills got him for cheap!)

Don’t forget “if the price is right”

https://youtu.be/AiZzxhwLMYQ Dude. Runs. Hard. I like how he makes a decision on his one cut, plants, and goes. He has speed and he finishes runs punishingly. Good vision. A lot of nice plays against the Bills in the above highlight video. Fits the profile to balance with Cook and Hines. Only age 26. Also good to take from NE*. His draft profile: Disciplined and rugged with a very strong sense of who he is as a running back. He operates with a good feel for blocking schemes and finds the designed yards while adding extra with his power and some elusiveness. He lacks game-breaking juice as a runner and will need to keep his weight down or he'll end up in the "grinder" category of runners. Harris is more likely to be good than great as a pro, but his size, every-down game and ball security give him a chance to have fruitful career as a solid starter.

He’s a good solid RB and seems like a good dude as well. He and Jerry can enjoy the better weather together.

I agree with almost all of this, but feel I’d be excited still if we get a top WR prospect at 27 (or by trading up). I think Addison, JSN, & Flowers in particular could come in right away and push Davis.

^ Me reading your post thinking about a Buffalo offense that includes an effective screen game

Also like the idea that if he works out, we took him from Miami 😎

https://youtu.be/b8m35RzFUFY https://youtu.be/oy8avz-ICO4 Looks like he has speed enough to pull away, can use his size and position his body well to get contested catches, and can display good focus for difficult catches near the sideline.

Dude just produces. Absent injury concern I’d not be shocked if Beane were interested.

Lil dirty update - McKenzie released
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep, and I do get the numbers game and allocation of money to the position. That’s why I’m conflicted and not full stop against the move. But I think I’d prefer: (A) Diggs as “WR1”, rotating Davis/Round 1 or 2 Draft Pick as “WR2”, and rotating Shakir/Harty/McKenzie as “WR3” similar to the keeping legs fresh on the DL theory; and (B) ST contribution from a different, defensive, position or positions. -
Lil dirty update - McKenzie released
JohnBonhamRocks replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall
Conflicted on this and not because of the personality. He had some gaffes and Harty made him redundant so I get it, but he was still valuable, productive, and added some variety to the offense. I really hope this is not the case of coaches’ inability to get the best out of him resulting in a release. Just can’t help but think if that 11 catch, 125 yard, 1 TD game against NE* and wonder if we should have been utilizing his skill set more. -
