Why are people so against… … moves that clearly give JA17 more dangerous weapons … having RBs/WRs who can be deployed all over the field … being able to disguise which pass catchers are doing what (remember that pre-snap motion is a thing) … stats showing Samuel is not strictly a slot WR but is a model of production consistency … the idea that a “boundary WR” can be less than 6’3” 215 and still win because separation is actually the most important attribute … ?

Would you just stop it with these facts? Getting in the way of many people’s predetermined emotional response!

I’ve gone from wanting Worthy because I think he’s at least WR4 in the draft… To wanting Worthy just to see the board complain that “He’S aNoThEr SmAlL sLoT wR!” despite the facts that he plays big, runs great routes, and is consistently productive on the boundary.

Couldn’t just let us enjoy our new WR for a bit? Such T Swiftesque attention seekers. But practically, I hope this means they are not targeting Worthy or McConkey.

Fair enough. Do you have a good source for slot vs wide reps?

No one out of Shakir, Diggs, Kincaid, or Cook solely plays in the slot. Personally, I like having multiple pass catchers who can play all over. Really not trying to die on the Hunter Renfrow hill but I am not against signing him on a prove it deal. Anyone have a good source for slot vs wide percentages?

Do you think it is possible the people who are open to bringing in a slot WR also want to bring in an outside WR?

I think they need to add at least three guys including a WR2 and two others who figure to at least compete for WR4/5. Whether that’s two FAs/one draft or vice versa I do not know although with such a deep draft I hope it is the latter. Not necessarily banging the drum for Renfrow but do not think the slot label should preclude us from signing someone.

Ok, but who is our back-up slot WR?

With the remaining restructures/extensions, would it be possible cap-wise to sign Curtis Samuel and Justin Simmons?
