  1. I think some NFL team official was kidding around & Schefter was the only person in attendance to take it seriously. If you think about it, many of Schefter's recent missteps could be explained by an inability to detect wit or sarcasm, as in "Tyree Jackson has a stronger arm than Josh Allen? Yeah, right." Pretty sad to witness the decline of a once reliable source. For me, it was popping in NFL2K5 and unleashing Losman on the Patriots. On the first offensive play, Losman juked Wilfork and Bruschi (among others) for a 40 yard gain. Watching #7 race down the field, I thought we might have found our own Elway. But then... A total dirtbag move, and I can't believe he became President of the NFLPA.
  2. Wasn't Lee Evans the guy who talked about working on being able to run a full route tree... entering year 7? I always thought he was seriously overrated by Bills fans, and possibly still is. Chris Kelsay never complained or requested a trade, either.
  3. Looks that way. He was hyped by the "experts" as the high upside OT of the FA class, but the experts saw otherwise.
  4. Actually a little disappointed that Daryl Williams stuck with the Panthers for 1 year & $7M.
  5. Surely they could've shared a better return than that to prove their point. It was ~99% blocking.
  6. I always considered Clowney more of a sack lunch guy.
  7. Whenever Schefter says something stupid like this, you can assume he shares an agent with the person he's praising.
  8. I already bought a Clowney jersey to tuck into my jeans.
  9. FWIW, last season's PFF ratings for some of the better-known FA slot WRs: Adam Humphries - 75.2 Cole Beasley - 74.6 Golden Tate - 71.1 Danny Amendola - 66.3 Jermaine Kearse - 62.7 Jamison Crowder - 60.9 Randall Cobb - 60.2
  10. So here's our answer to "which RT will we sign if we don't get Daryl Williams?". This guy was not on my radar, probably because he bounced around Canada, Arena Football, and the NFL for the past decade. PFF placed him in their list of "The best low-budget options available in free agency" & had this to say: If you’re a team in need of short-term tackle help, there may be no better, or cheaper, option than the career backup. Calling him a backup does a disservice to how well the 33-year old has played in Washington though. On 1,287 snaps across every single position except center on the offensive line over the last four seasons, Nsekhe has a pass-blocking grade of 76.4 and a run-blocking grade of 70.7. I'm intrigued by his versatility; maybe he isn't being brought in to play RT after all? Perhaps the powers of THE PROCESS are beyond our understanding.
  11. Surely, but it's not an exorbitant amount for a WR. Brown was on track for 1000+ yards & ~8 TDs before Lamar Jackson entered the picture, ruining his season. I think the biggest thing he did was stay healthy for the season. If that continues, I expect him to outperform his contract, though it might not completely show in the box score.
  12. This has to be the most active beginning, at least in real life.* *It was rumored that Buddy Nix signed countless FAa in his dreams after hitting the sack at 8pm.
  13. Hahaha, excactly. Brown won't play in Buffalo & McBeane will never forgive him for spurning the Bills last year. IMO, John Brown was the best FA WR. Signing him without drastically overpaying was the icing on the cake. A+
  14. "It doesn't matter where we are today. What matters is where we are 2 or 3 years down the road. You're gonna say I'm crazy, but we're not that far." They're using their cap space to fill holes, and getting some of the top players available. Look at any list of the top FAs & you'll find Barr & Mosley near the top, but what do the experts know? I think it beats drafting for need.
  15. Stupid Jets, using their cap space to sign a bunch of the top FAs!
  16. Here's part of an optimistic 2015 scouting report from nfl.com: NFL COMPARISON Travis Kelce BOTTOM LINE Tall, athletic tight end with the frame to add more muscle and the athleticism to get open in space. Kroft is an aggressive blocker who can help the running game win on the edges, but he also possesses the quickness to get open in space and make a play after the catch. Kroft's size, athleticism and competitiveness as a blocker make him a scheme fit for most offenses and he could be one of the top tight ends to come from this draft class.
  17. I read somewhere that the Titans were bidding against the Pats, which isn't much of a surprise.
  18. Last year I regularly ridiculed my best friend (who's not a Bills fan) for keeping Frank Gore on his fantasy roster for the entire season. Guess who's laughing today?
  19. CBs from Rutgers is the most obvious one, though the rest of the league doesn't seem to have caught on. Worth noting that the Pats drafted Edelman in the 7th round, after taking WR Brandon Tate in the 3rd.
  20. LT Dawkins LG Saffold C Paradis or Morse RG Teller vs Long RT Williams or (Ja'Wuan) James It's totally possible for them to sign 3 new quality OL starters with their cap space. Anything short of 2 would probably be inexcusable.
  21. Good. Now we can go back to saying he's nothing special.
  22. I saw he was at Islands of Adventure on Feb 22. I'd like to know how many times he rode the Incredible Hulk coaster; that ****'s the bomb!
  23. If anything, Brown was lucky & Poyer not so much.
  24. Absolutely. The Skins did a good job landing Keenum for such a paltry sum, in terms of $ and picks. Great for him, too, as he goes into a really good situation in a contract year.
