  1. The day before the Patriots bring Tyreek in for a look-see?
  2. He should sit the next game. And feel shame.
  3. Not picking on ya blue, but the baseball Gods felt otherwise with Frazier hitting the go ahead HR. Meanwhile @Gugny might be having a conniption with Familia pitching a scoreless 8th (with help from Votto) and asked to come out for the 9th (I'm nervous) EDIT: nervousness well founded. But this one is squarely on Callaway. He got played. Reds refused to put in a left handed PH and suckered Callaway into sticking with Familia. Familia should've been gone after the four pitch walk, let alone the next three at bats. EDIT part 2: All's well that ends well? Callaway is a train wreck, I'm not sure what he does well as a manager. if you come up with something please let me know. EDIT part 3: just saw a post game quote from Callaway: "I saw guy a guy who was lights out for 5 outs". Me too. I wonder what he saw after that.
  4. Off of this series? Aim higher my friend. The only good thing about Milbury is he went into the stands at Madison Square Garden and beat a Ranger fan with the guys own shoe back in 1979. In 2000 as the Islanders GM with a young Roberto Luongo on the roster Mad Mike decided to draft the immortal Rick DiPietro with the first pick in the draft and then traded away Luongo. In 2001, he traded Zdeno Chara for Alexei Yashin. Luongo and Chara are still playing. Milbury still has a job in hockey. Truth is stranger than fiction.
  5. Leave? Just kidding, I've never been there. If it were me I'd want to go to a Pirates game. Looks like a beautiful ballpark.

  7. What is this that stands before me? Figure in black which points at me Turn around quick, and start to run Find out I'm the chosen one Oh no
  8. For the second time this season our old friend Yoenis stopped by during BP to say hello. Nothing new on a timetable for his return, but he did play catch. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/ny-mets-yoenis-cespedes-injury-plays-catch-20190430-2qjle47po5h4hm6lsqzejngdem-story.html
  9. Shmoozer? That would be the IceLanders he's having fun with. I doubt folks outside the tri-state area have any clue about the Rangers/Islanders rivalry. One or both teams can suck but the games are still intense.
  10. Mausoleum? Yup, you get it. During the down years that place was downright depressing. In the last year before Barclays and this past year the place has been electric.
  11. Was that the call? Pretty sure it was a quick whistle. But no doubt a kick that would've been overturned anyway. I'm enjoying the run. After we lost Tavares and replaced with Fillpula, Komarov and Kuhnackl and then brought back Martin hopes weren't high. In a 7 game series the Isles can play with anyone, but I think they lack the offense for a 4 series run to the Cup. Eventually it will catch up with them. Maybe this series, but the team has been resilient and I'm not counting them out yet. What town is your bud from? If he still has seasons at Barclays he's a die-hard's die-hard!
  12. Ideally playoffs and one or many playoff wins is part of it next year.
  13. I wasn't looking too good but I was feeling real well.
  14. And many will consider the season an abject failure if we miss the playoffs or don't hit some number of wins that are deemed acceptable. Neither extreme appeals to me. The most important outcome for a successful season to me is confidence that Josh Allen is our long term solution at QB.
  15. Two questions for you: 1) Besides the evil Patriot empire, what other leadership groups in the NFL have more than two years (from the OP) left to prove themselves? 2) Do you believe the Bills leadership are on the one year prove-it plan? If so, why?
  16. They certainly missed some opportunities but I give a lot of credit to the Hurricanes. They've been stifling us - reminds me of how the Isles have gotten as far as we have, not allowing extended time in the offensive zone. One goal in two home games ain't gonna get it done. Props also to the Canes backup goalie, I thought Mrazek going off would be a turning point in the game. Did anyone see the Isles 'goal' that was called off? I think they said it was because the ref blew the whistle. Probably wouldn't have counted anyway because it sure looked like it was kicked by the back skate. I assume the kicking rule applies even if it's kicked from behind the goal line.

  19. Ain't no sunshine when she's gone It's not warm when she's away Ain't no sunshine when she's gone And she's always gone too long
  20. Singing about the good things and the sun that lights the dayI used to sing on the mountains, has the ocean lost its way I don't know.
  21. I remember I cried when my father died Never wishing to hide the tears And at sixty-five years old My mother, God rest her soul Couldn't understand why the only man She had ever loved had been taken . . . Alone again, naturally.
  22. I never intended to suggest that, nor do I think it.
  23. I agree that picking Jones where they did is (to put it mildly) a head scratcher . But, "Dwayne Freaking Haskins" as someone to be terrified to face twice a year speaks as much to your optimism about his potential as it does about their pessimism.
  24. Chewing out a rhythm on my bubble gum The sun is out and I want some It's not hard, not far to reach, we can hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach
  25. I have the utmost respect for anyone in that profession.
