  2. There was a young girl, whose heart was a frown, Because she was crippled for life, and couldn't speak a sound And she wished and prayed she would stop living, so she decided to die. She drew her wheel chair to the edge of the shore, and to her legs she smiled "You won't hurt me no more." But then a sight she'd never seen made her JUMP AND SAY "Look, a golden winged ship is passing my way" And it really didn't have to stop...it just kept on going. And so castles made of sand slips into the sea, Eventually

  5. This doesn't answer your question about price but your concerns about the heat, young kids and a short day hit home for me. If you aren't staying on Disney property I think you have to take the monorail from the parking lot. This adds time, get there as early as possible. I can't stress getting into the park as early as possible enough. Also, figure out your must rides and plan ahead with either fast-pass or getting to them early. Given your kids ages, get a fast-pass or go straight to Peter Pan. The Seven Dwarfs Roller Coaster should be fast passed too if your kids are up for it. I have a hate/love relationship with Disney. I think my sister-in-law put it best: It's not really vacation, it's just going away. I hope you and yours have a great time!
  6. Weapons not food, not homes, not shoes Not need, just feed the war cannibal animal I walk the corner to the rubble that used to be a library Line up to the mind cemetery now What we don't know keeps the contracts alive an movin' They don't gotta burn the books they just remove 'em While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells Rally round the family, pockets full of shells Rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells They rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells They rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells They rally round the family! With a pocket full of shells Bulls on parade
  7. Out of the rain, under the shelter I've been so long where the sun don't shine Standing at the cross-roads, could have went either way But now I've found you and the storm is behind
  8. Glory Hallelujah I raise my glass up to you And I bow my head with utmost respect But I think it's only fair to warn you That there's a storm that's coming up on you And like the wind and the rain My words are direct They're gonna hang you from the cypress tree The crowd gonna cheer when they see you swing Yeah they're gonna hang you from the cypress tree Tell me now do you believe?
  9. So take your hat off boyWhen you're talking to meAnd be there when I feed the tree
  10. I despise the 'appropriate cruise tip' mentality. That rubs me the wrong way. Feels like something that should be built into the cost by the cruise lines, but maybe it's just my mentality since I don't cruise very often. How about this: do/should we tip stewardesses (or whatever we call them these days) when we deplane? They performed a service with the safety demonstration and may have passed out a kindergarten size bag of pretzels and ginger ale or maybe even a pillow or blanket. Should I tip them on the double Bloody Mary I need to make it cross country?
  11. Anyone catch Dom Smith's half-swing/bunt attempt in the 5th tonight? It was awesome, more guys should be doing that. I'm shocked at how my opinion of him has changed since last year when I had no use for him.
  12. I don't leave a tip behind at the hotel room either. Maybe it's an out-of-sight, out-of-mind thing for me. On the other hand, I've been on 2 cruises, both with young kids. Room keeping set up some awesome/hilarious towel 'sculptures' during the day and they got tipped.
  13. I haven't listened to FM radio regularly for awhile but saw this article about the death of tri-state area radio station WPLJ (95.5) https://www.newsday.com/entertainment/music/wplj-shuts-down-1.31758864 And was reminded of the song the Mothers covered:
  14. In honor of the late great John Bonham, a bad-@ss Zep song that doesn't get enough play IMO:
  15. I hear what your saying. I have my own tipping habits which probably range from modestly generous to downright cheap depending on your perspective. I was just trying to acknowledge that another countries customs might differ and calling them stupid seemed kind of stupid to me.
  16. Stupid or unexpected? Maybe a cultural difference? Which perhaps speaks to OP's premise of a growing expectations of tips.
  17. It was a cold and wet December day When we touched the ground at JFK Snow was melting on the ground On BLS I heard the sound Of an angel New York, like a Christmas tree Tonight this city belongs to me Angel Soul love, this love won't let me go So long, angel of Harlem Birdland on fifty three The street sounds like a symphony We got John Coltrane and a love supreme Miles, and she's got to be an angel

  25. It wasn't very large There was just enough room to cram the drums In the corner over by the Dodge It was a fifty-four With a mashed up door And a cheesy little amp With a sign on the front said "Fender Champ" And a second hand guitar It was a Stratocaster with a whammy bar
