  1. Now they're some sad things known to man But ain't too much sadder than The tears of a clown when there's no one around
  2. They've been riding Scherzer, Strasburg and Corbin to hide their bullpen. Reminds me of the D'backs winning with Schilling and RJ . I think the layoff could help them out. Travel days and any rain-outs during the series will almost surely help. If either the Astros or Yankees get to the Nats bullpen it won't be pretty.
  3. Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin' You gotta have somethin' if you wanna be with me
  4. Who's peekin' out from under a stairway Calling a name that's lighter than air Who's bending down to give me a rainbow Everyone knows it's Windy
  5. Organizations gain from #1 picks, coaches only gain if they are still around. Being told that this year would not be held against a coach and being told to lose games intentionally are two different things. What he said.
  6. Makes sense, lesson learned. Thanks.
  7. Just a friendly reminder that the spread has nothing to do with what Vegas thinks the final score will be and everything to do with getting the same number of people to bet on both sides. Every time a missed extra point blows the spread "the fix is in". But nobody talks about a game like tonight where the Chargers are laying 6.5 and are down 24-0 at home with a quarter left.
  8. Just curious. Did you watch it and think it was wonderful or does it just sound like something that would be wonderful? There's a reason they only did it one time. Most folks at the time thought it was less than wonderful.
  9. What does the coach have to gain from tanking? What does he have to lose from tanking? Believe what you want, personally I don't think that players and coaches tank.
  10. No it's not. They had a nine play 75 yard drive to put themselves in position to tie or win. What part of that drive was proof of the tank? Or maybe the Redskins allowing that drive is proof of the Redskins tank? Believe what you want, personally I don't think that players and coaches tank.
  11. Wasn't brown, but it was awesome: swordfish. Too nice of a day for a classic football Sunday dinner (brown or otherwise)
  12. Will the wind ever remember The names it has blown in the past
  13. I might be wrong but I always thought Bermans take was an homage to Cosell.
  14. In all the years he was with the Mets I can't remember Beltran ever being the voice of the team. He would be a high risk hire. Not sure if any Met fan wants him as the next manager and the media would feed off it.
  15. Why is one out of one less balanced than 2 out of 3 in rock paper scissors?
  16. I'm not getting this. Did you wear your boyfriends jersey in high school? JK
  17. On top of spaghetti all covered with cheeseI lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed
  18. Completely agree with all of the above. I love the finality of sudden death. Allowing a game to get tied in overtime doesn't appeal to me at all.
  19. Hey baby won't you take a chance. Say that you'll let me have this dance. Well let's dance, let's dance. We'll do the twist, the stomp, The mashed potatoes too Any old dance that you want to do. Well let's dance, well let's dance.
  20. Yeah, we're gonna be so neat Dance to the Eurobeat Yeah, we're gonna be so cool Twisting by the pool
  21. Has anyone said 'play to the whistle'? Used to be good hard football, now it's an invitation for a 15 yarder.
  22. ...and they're bringing him in to interview for the manager vacancy.
  23. Let's bungle in the jungle Well, that's all right by me I'm a tiger when I want love But I'm a snake if we disagree
