  1. Lots of guys had good games, but Allen, Smoke, and Milano were lights-out.
  2. I like Allen and I'm pretty optimistic that we got our guy. That said, nobody is going to change their mind over a big game against a bottom-feeder. He'll have plenty of opportunities over the next six* weeks to show how far he's come. * Really ten weeks of course.
  3. Love this guy -- one of the best FA signings we've had in a long time. That said, I still want a big WR who can go up and make contested catches downfield. As great as Smoke is, he's not that guy.
  4. 10-6. Wins over the Dolphins, Broncos, and Jets. One random win from the remaining four games.
  5. Good for the Jets -- they need some continuity, and I think they should lock up Gase for at least 3 or 4 more years.
  6. Its too soon to come to any kind of firm conclusion on any of these guys, but so far this draft class has fallen far short of what I was expecting, mainly because of Oliver and Ford. Those two need to get it turned around.
  7. Yep. Likewise, when was the last time one of our WRs made a catch, slipped a tackle, and ripped off another 40 yards? None of our receivers except for Knox seems capable of breaking a tackle. Or consider the long ball to McKenzie that Allen overthrew. For as open as McKenzie was, he was still a "small" target. Allen had to put that pass in pretty tiny area for McKenzie to catch it. It seems like every week I see a QB underthrow a ball to a big, physical receiver who comes back to it and either pulls it in or draws PI. We have zero players who can do that.
  8. The offense badly needs a WR who make himself a big target, fight for ball, and break tackles. Most of our offensive problems would go away overnight with that player lined up opposite Brown.
  9. Beasley might as well be triple-covered on that play. Allen is looking at Brown and is about 1/2 second away from being sacked. There is no possibility of looking across to the other side of the field, seeing Beasley, and getting him the ball. It is Brown-or-bust on this play. And honestly, having Brown one-on-one is a pretty good match-up. I would have liked to have seen a higher-percentage play, but I don't hate this one.
  10. JFC. Allen won this game for us, and then put us in a position to force overtime after the defense blew the lead he created. He's going nowhere anytime soon.
  11. I agree, and this has been infuriating. We can't get pressure with our front four, and turnovers simply aren't coming. Even just one today could have been a game-changer.
  12. Thanks for this sense of perspective. Last year's team was terrible, to the point that I still can't believe they won 6 games. This team is much better, but still has a way to go. I'm very disappointed in the defense, but I have a lot of confidence in the front office to take another step forward in the off-season. We're on the right trajectory.
  13. Yeah I just absolutely don't get this one. This is one of the worst run defenses in the league, and your best back gets only 8 carries. That's indefensible.
  14. I agree. He led what should have been a game-winning drive, and then followed it up with what should have been an over-time-forcing drive. Clearly not a perfect game by any means, but he was fine.
  15. He led the go-ahead drive, and then led the drive that should have resulted in OT. He did his part.
  16. I was just thinking to myself, "Well, at least people won't be stupidly dragging Josh Allen for this one." Then I read the thread. Should have known better.
  17. Hauschka deserves his share of criticism, but he's not the one who let the Browns walk right down the field while trying to protect a 4-point lead.
  18. But I thought Allen was terrible. Now I just don't know what to believe.
  19. Yes, I would swap Josh Allen -- a work in progress -- for a guy who I already know will go on to be a first-ballot HOFer. I would also swap Josh Allen for a 2nd-year Dan Marino, John Elway, Joe Montana, Steve Young, etc. That doesn't mean I'm not optimistic about Allen.
