  1. Nobody in the national media is going to give any credence to stats we put up against Miami. Just take the W and move on. We'll get respect when we become regulars in the post-season.
  2. Loved this play. It's 3rd and short, and a first down ends the game. The Titans all knew that Gore was getting the ball. The entire stadium knew that Gore was getting the ball. Everyone watching at home knew that Gore was getting the ball. Sherpas in rural Nepal knew that Gore was getting the ball. And Allen just casually strolls for 5 yards on the naked bootleg. Game over.
  3. I think the first 16 games have shown that Allen has a significantly higher floor than we were led to believe going into the draft. He has already proven that he is not Jamarcus Russell, which was one of the unflattering comparison points at the time. His floor is more like "low-quality starter." Obviously his ceiling is way higher than that, but the downside risk was blown way out of proportion.
  4. I agree -- after that missed FG, I texted my son about what a huge possession that was to come away with no points allowed and the game still tied. That was an incredibly eventful possession that the Titans had to feel like they get a TD on like 90% of the time, but unfortunately for them our defense is the other 10%.
  5. Yes. I originally hated the bye coming this early, but we took a ton of little injuries in this game, so lets get everybody healthy.
  6. Good overall. JA needs to do a better job taking care of the football, and we as fans are going to have to accept the occasional WTF play. But he's a winner, and I'm happy with that.
  7. Wow, some people just really can't accept a road win against a quality opponent.
  8. It makes me feel very old to realize that I get the "banana in the tailpipe" reference and nobody else does.
  9. Did you watch the last drive? That's the textbook definition of "putting a team away."
  10. Beautiful game! We won, and I love these kinds of games anyway. I love the Flutie vs Baltimore comparison. I still remember that one!
  11. Let's also give a hat tip to Beane for giving us some serious depth on the line, along with lots of versatility. When a team loses that many linemen in a defensive struggle, they should really lose the game. We persevered.
  12. I was unhappy to see such an early bye on our schedule, but now it looks like good timing. Great win today, and now let's get everybody healthy.
  13. I know people forget this now, but the Jets were a pretty good team -- on par with the Titans -- when we played them.
  14. Darnold should consider himself lucky if mono was the only disease he contracted from that encounter.
  15. Kind of hard to criticize that decision. They're not beating the Eagles with their third-string QB no matter how many reps he gets, so you might as well give the first-team reps to the guy who gives you a chance to win if he can play.
  16. Before the season started, I had us at 3-2 at the bye, with losses to the Jets and Patriots. But I also had us finishing 9-7. So yeah, I guess I would have taken that, but it would have been mildly disappointing, and it would be mildly disappointing now.
  17. This is what makes me suspect that Allen wasn't really concussed. He clearly got knocked out, which automatically puts in the protocol and made him ineligible to return to the game. But losing consciousness doesn't automatically mean he suffered a concussion. He certainly didn't look like a guy who was concussed once he came to. I think it's very likely that he's good to go this weekend.
  18. If he clears protocol, he obviously starts. And he's pretty close to clearing protocol, so yeah sure, my guess is that he starts. Something like this is the least likely outcome IMO. Allen can't be the backup unless he's been cleared to play, and if he's cleared to play he's the starter. Allen either starts, or he's inactive.
  19. This sounds like great news. Hopefully Allen is cleared to go on Sunday.
  20. Daboll was right. Josh was trying to do too much and bypassing open receivers in an effort to force the ball downfield. It's literally Dabol's job to be a coach and tell his player to get back to the gameplan. If Allen can't take some hard coaching -- and I'm sure he can -- then he doesn't belong in the NFL. I seem to recall guys like Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells occasionally engaging in a frank exchange of ideas on the sideline. And if anybody really feels bad about Allen catching a little flack from Brian Daboll, let's take a stroll down memory lane.
  21. He's obviously right. Although I have to be honest that it's a little disturbing to realize that Favre is watching Bills games and thinking to himself "Man, that guy is just too reckless with the football."
  22. I read that article this morning too, and I agree that it was excellent (as usual). In a nutshell, Allen got confused by the defense and proceeded to get rattled and tried to do too much. Overall, I take that as relatively encouraging -- this isn't the first time that Belichick has done this to a young QB. Actually Belichick does this to literally every young QB. We'll be fine.
  23. Honestly, this isn't all that surprising. The offense hasn't had much trouble moving the ball, but we've been turning it over way too often. So our yards-to-points ratio is all out of whack.
