  1. Well, they certainly tried on that series. There's got to be a better way to get him open in space though.
  2. This is frustrating -- it's like we're not even looking for blitz-beaters in the passing game.
  3. My guess is that Carolina is in for a big disappointment when his trade value becomes clear.
  4. This is a great opportunity to play against arguably the best team in the NFL right, and certainly the hottest. That said, a loss is no big deal which actually makes this weekend somewhat relaxing -- a win would be fantastic, but taking the expected loss doesn't hurt us much. There's nothing but upside for us in this one. Next week is a far more important game.
  5. Favorite: Josh Allen. Seems like an all-around good guy, great attitude, great competitor. His teammates obviously love him. Honorable Mention: Tre White, Jon Feliciano, Cole Beasley, Dawson Knox
  6. Ravens 27 Bills 20 The last drive of the game decides it one way or the other.
  7. I don't have anything against either of these guys, but my two nominees are Scott Norwood (obviously) and Bruce DeHaven (cover the kickoff). Those two gentlemen headline a cast of characters that I associate with bad memories as a Bills fan.
  8. Baltimore is probably the best team in the NFL, and there's no doubt that this is a tough game. But 5.5 point dogs win about a third of the time, so it's silly to write this off as a sure loss. It's pretty easy to see how we get a win. Our defense does enough to at least slow down / contain their offense, holding them to 20-24 points, and our offense continues their upward trajectory that we've seen the past several weeks to score 24-27 or so. We'll need to avoid turnovers and we'll probably need to take the ball away a time or two. That's probably not how the game will go and if I were a betting man I wouldn't bet on the Bills straight-up, but it's not like it requires a flight of fancy to imagine them pulling out a tight win. On a good day, with everybody bringing their A-game, there's nothing outlandish about any of this.
  9. I didn't realize quite how bad Mariota was and I honestly never expected Tannehill to be an upgrade. It definitely worked out for them.
  10. I fully expect to transition seamlessly back to doom-and-gloom if we lose a close game to Baltimore.
  11. The same way that we've been (fairly) faded for not being as good as our record indicates, Pittsburgh is nowhere near as good as their record indicates. Yes, their defense is fine, but they're starting a third string UDFA rookie QB. That alone will get you beat against most teams in the league. And make no mistake -- Duck looked every bit like an UDFA rookie QB today. His WRs made several outstanding contested catches against very tight coverage. Those are high-variance plays and not a recipe for regular success in the NFL. If our playoff hopes come down to a road trip against this team, I'm good with that.
  12. This was one of the most enjoyable NFL Sundays in a long time. Basking in a win, watching other teams get knocked out of realistic playoff contention, and knowing that we can afford multiple losses the rest of the way and still stroll in. This is a luxury we haven't experienced in 20+ years. Now let's get it done!
  13. I'm laughing at this guy and the regime who hired him. So predictable.
  14. I'm pretty confident that they would still be winless if they stuck with Rosen. Instead, Fitzmagic is playing them potentially out of the top five. It's great.
  15. After a pretty entertaining slate of early games, I wish I had played video games during the late starts.
  16. This is not a "Mahomes sucks" post because Mahomes is an outstanding QB. But if Josh Allen threw that interception right to a defender in the endzone, we would never hear the end of it. It's good to have the occasional perspective check that great QBs occasionally throw ugly-looking picks.
  17. Oakland had two receivers literally running the exact same route on that play. WTF.
  18. This is a very tough game and the Ravens are an excellent team, but that line is kind of fat considering that we're at home, coming off a mini-bye, and have a pretty darn good team ourselves. I expect a competitive game that comes down to somebody needing a fourth quarter drive.
  19. Mahomes is nowhere near 300 yards passing so Kansas City must be losing badly.
