Allen threw that last TD to Brown with way too much time left on the clock, which allowed the Dolphins to cover the spread in garbage time. Huge mental error.

How many Bills fans would trade Allen for Sam Darnold? None. How many Jets fans secretly would trade Darnold for Allen? Nearly all of them. That's all I need to know.

Vote for Josh! FedEx Player of the Week.

Vote cast. Time for the mafia to do its thing. -
Seems like PI to me. The defender made contact with the receiver before the ball arrived.

Allen Diggs Brown Davis Beasley None of us have seen a game like this (a Bills game that is) in a long, long time.

Edit: NFL removes Bass's kick from All-22 video
BillsFanSD replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Obviously the NFL should do a better job with this. It's just absurd that in The Year of Our Lord 2020 we can't determine whether a field goal was good or not. But . . . a) We won the game. Very comfortably. Maybe -- maybe -- we were robbed of 3 points, but it made no difference whatsoever. The game was already well in hand. b) For the purposes of evaluating Bass, it doesn't matter whether the kick was barely good or barely wide. For a professional PK, anything under 40 yards should be right down the middle. A 38 yard FG attempt should not be an exciting adventure. Sure, this particular kick affected Bass's numbers, but his kicks were erratic all day. Even if this kick had been ruled good, there is no way the Bills coaching staff would have been pleased with Bass's performance. That doesn't mean giving up on him, but it does mean not being wed to him either. c) See point (a) above. d) Let's beat Miami. -
PFF Refocused Week 1 - Bills vs Jets
BillsFanSD replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm completely convinced that a lot of these people who nitpick every JA pass don't watch any other NFL games. Was the ball placement the Beasley reception perfect? No, obviously not. But literally every QB in every game has passes like that. Nobody has the kind of pinpoint 100% accuracy on every pass that certain folks seem to expect from Allen. -
Lack of RB Production is limiting this Team
BillsFanSD replied to Lieutenant Aldo Raine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills had no problem running the football last year. Our OL is marginally better this year, our backfield is younger, and we have a scarier passing game that defenses have to account for. I'm not at all worried about this part of the team. -
#1 was a little frustrating, but passes like that happen. (As we've seen in this thread). #2-#5 are all just routine hiccups that are completely normal plays in every game at every level including those with future HOF QBs. Literally nobody gets their ball placement exactly right on every single play. Literally everyone tries to thread the needle now and again and has a potential interception dropped. None of those are worth losing sleep over.

Where the Heck Was Oliver All Day?
BillsFanSD replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Me, an idiot: The Bills jumped out to a big lead and cruised to an easy victory. This is great! How nice to enjoy a relaxing Sunday and roll into work the next day all happy and energized. You, a genius: If you took away some of our points and gave the Jets some more points, the Bills would have barely even won, which is actually the same thing as a loss. Also, one guy on the defense didn't have non-stop SportsCenter plays which means he's probably a bust. At this point our only hope is to tank for a better draft spot. -
I strongly agree with this. Obviously it's not the same thing with regard to the scoreboard, but in terms of evaluating a K the expectation should be that he consistently puts the ball down the middle of the pipes at that distance. A 38 yarder should not feel like an adventure.

I like deferring because I like getting the ball to start the second half, but I seriously doubt it really matters in the long run.

So basically it's like the gameday threads.

Yeah, I was stunned at how good the simulated crowd noise was. It isn't perfect, but it's hard to believe there aren't actually fans in the stands until they pan out and show the empty seats.

The line is already up to 5/5.5: https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/ That seems about right to me. The Bills are a much better team on paper, plus we have a huge advantage with regard to continuity. I don't expect this week's game to be any closer than last week's.

I would like to revise and extend my remarks on how good the Bucs are looking.

Josh Allen - week ONE report card
BillsFanSD replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
B+ is about right. Josh had a very good game, but he had a few mis-throws and turned it over twice. Ultimately, we won the game because of Josh Allen. That's the important takeaway. -
And there's the Saints TD, right on cue.

Tampa looks legitimately good so far. I expected to be rooting against them because, well, you know, but they're bringing it against the Saints.

Bills vs Jets Postgame Thread
BillsFanSD replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Starting in the 2nd quarter, it seemed like we should have been able to run the ball at will given how successful we had been in the passing game and with all the QB scrambles. But nope, the running game never really opened up. I'm kind of assuming that the Jets just decided to take the running game away, because it's not like running the ball has ever been a weakness of this team. We'll see once somebody has a chance to break down the game film better than I can. For now, my only concern is at K.
