  1. It's not a good idea to compare QB stats across different eras. That said, Dallas never had any problem winning without Aikman, but they sure struggled when Emmitt was injured. When you can plug in Jason Garrett and not miss a beat, that tells you everything you need to know.
  2. I was unhappy with the state of the defense when we were 4-0, so . . .
  3. This is the kind of hyperbole that makes this board hard to take following a loss. Allen's first two throws were off, but within the parameters of what's normal. He threw a perfect pass to convert on third down, but Brown dropped it. Obviously that's a lousy opening drive, but the QB didn't do anything terribly wrong, and he's not the one whose mistake ended the drive. Other QBs occasionally miss an open receiver and it's no big deal. Allen throws the exact same pass and it's the worst pass in the history of the modern NFL. The lack of any kind of perspective gets tiresome after a while.
  4. Sure, it would have been nice to get that fumble, and it would have been nice if we had made that 50+ yard FG in the rain. But if you want the play that sealed it, here you go: Prime opportunity to force a punt and give the ball back to your offense. Instead you let the Chiefs not only convert but get right into FG range. This was the play that ended the game, and there wasn't a single offensive player that anything to do with it.
  5. The defense gave up a 3rd-and-12 and a 3rd-and-7 on the last drive. Maybe Allen wouldn't have pulled it out, but Joe Montana in his prime can't win if the defense can't make a stop to give him the ball.
  6. If we go 2-0 the next two weeks, we'll have a stranglehold on the division. Losing the last two weeks sucks, but these next couple of games are more important.
  7. Or maybe the defense could quit giving up conversions on third-and-long over and over again. The fact that you're expecting flawless play from the offense to bail them out essentially concedes that it's a problem. Right now the Bills are a totally one dimensional team, and those sorts of teams typically don't last long in the playoffs.
  8. This is a really bad take. As others have noted, the only reason why we "held" Kansas City to 26 points is because they ran the ball all day and ground down the clock. They were moving the chains at will and could have hung 40+ on us if they had wanted to. Nobody who actually watched the game would defend the team for "only" giving up 26. I get that you might think that way if all you saw was the final score, but our defense was absolutely man-handled the entire night. Moreover, this is not just a one game thing. The defense has been poor in every single game except the Jets game, and that was against the Jets. I mean, Allen had a bad game last night but I'm not too bothered about it because he's been very good so far and I'm not going to freak out over one bad game. The defense has now had five back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back games in a row. That's not a weird aberration or a single deviation from an otherwise positive trajectory. At this point, it's impossible to avoid the conclusion that something is seriously wrong with the defense. It's actually getting to the point that I'm starting to wonder if this isn't getting into the offense's head a bit. We grew kind of accustomed to following a team that did well to put up 17 or so points a game, and the offense's ineptitude always put the defense under all sorts of pressure. The could afford to give up about one drive a game, but not two, not if we were going to win. Now the tables are turned -- the defense can't get off the field on third down regardless of distance, they're not getting turnovers, they're not getting pressure let alone sacks, and it often feels like they give up points on every single drive. (This isn't just a KC-is-awesome thing. Recall that we couldn't really even slow down the freaking Dolphins back in week 2). When we fell behind by 10 last night, that was when it seemed like the game was officially over because we just weren't going to get enough possessions to make up that deficit and the additional points that we all knew we were going to concede. The offense has to feel as if it needs to score on every possession, and that can't make life easy on any of those guys.
  9. Second game in a row where the offense looked out of synch from start to finish. I'm not remotely qualified to diagnose what the problem is, but it needs to get sorted out. I get that we lost two two teams that are a combined 9-1, but Ten and KC have been playing shaky defense all season. This is more about us than them.
  10. I mean, last year we lost to the Ravens, Patriots, etc. but played them tough and had chances to win in each game. These last two games have been disgraceful and were never seriously in doubt.
  11. Chiefs 41 Bills 27 I don't think our team is quite good enough to hang with KC in a track meet, and I don't think our defense can prevent the game from becoming a track meet. Obviously I would love to be proven wrong.
  12. Game's not over guys. Lock could throw another INT.
  13. Another idiotic INT by Denver. Nice going guys.
  14. NE FG good. 18-12 with 3:23 left. NE has two TOL.
  15. I'm always amazed that the NFL lets players wear chains. That seems like an obvious safety issue.
  16. Lock throws an idiotic INT on third down. NE in business with 5:15 left.
  17. NE 2 point attempt fails. 18-9 with 8:31 left to play.
  18. Feels weird for a close call NOT to go in the Patriots' favor.
  19. Huge drop by Hamilton. Totally threw away his shot.
  20. New England wins 17-15. Calling it now. Edit: 16-15. They would go for two on the second TD and I am going to go maximum gut-punch and have them fail it.
  21. I have about two dozen collectables in Ghost of Tsushima that still need collecting. Very tempted to turn on the PS4 right now.
