  1. I'll take Two Guys Who Won't Be Employed By The Jets Next Year for $100 please.
  2. Guys, the hail mary thing is just a statistically bizarre pair of back-to-back low-percentage plays. Both were covered well. No reason to worry about it.
  3. Because the 49ers were a really good team back in April, while folks weren't too sure what to make of the Bills?
  4. No. My son and I were just talking about this last night. Neither of us could recall what we traded away to move up to get Allen, and we both agreed that whatever it was, it was a steal. We landed a guy who we would not now trade away for three first round picks. Whatever draft capital it took to land him is trivial.
  5. Josh wouldn't have fallen to #7 in that scenario, so no I'd prefer not to imagine this thank you very much.
  6. Yes, we can lose to Miami and still get the divisional tiebreaker if we beat NE or if Miami drops a game to NE or the Jets. Basically the worst that can happen is we end the season at 4-2 in the division, which is the best that Miami can possibly do.
  7. Not really. We're probably going to be favored in five of our last six games. At the beginning of the season, this last six game stretch looked incredibly daunting -- it's still challenging and I don't expect to actually finish 5-1, but it's not really that bad. Edit: I mean, if you told me right now that we were going to beat Miami in week 17 -- a game that we'll be strongly favored to win -- that one win alone gives us essentially a three game lead in the division (two games plus the tiebreaker) with only five more games to play. It's a lot more accurate to say that all we need to do to win the division at this point is just win the games we're supposed to win. It doesn't matter what we do against the Steelers or 49ers if we take care of business against the Dolphins, Broncos, and Chargers.
  8. At this point, I'm just gobsmacked that the Bills were lucky/smart enough to grab the best QB out of that 2018 class. So far, Allen's the only guy out of that year's "big four" that actually developed into a legit franchise QB. Jackson has been a nice story, but I'm happy with our guy.
  9. Yep. This sort of thread is just further evidence for the theory that a lot of folks in our little community don't watch much football outside of Bills games. We also benefited from a couple of ticky-tack calls against Arizona, but of course everybody forgets about those.
  10. I agree. Allen has made massive, gigantic strides since entering the league, and I'll be happy to have him quarterbacking our team for the next decade. There's still some room for growth, but we're looking at changes on the margin compared to the development we've seen during his first three years.
  11. We're a game ahead of Miami, we have a bunch of ways to secure the tie-breaker over Miami, and we have another opportunity to beat Miami. Also, the Bills are a significantly better team than Miami. Stranger things have happened of course, but Miami isn't going to catch up to us if we take care of business.
  12. Miami shows real promise and they seem to have a good coaching staff in place, but I don't think there's any serious question which team is better in 2020. I'd happily swap schedules with them, but no way would I swap rosters. This will be a good rivalry in future seasons.
  13. I'm the exact same way. Basically I'm useless on Mondays during football season. Bills win = all I want to do is read about the game, talk about the game, watch highlights of the game, etc. Bills loss = all I want to do is sit in a corner and mope. Fortunately my job allows for a lot of time-shifting so it's not really that big a deal. Thank god I'm not an air traffic controller or trauma surgeon or something like that.
  14. I mean, why not just have Terry Pegula come down and cover that hail mary while we're at it.
  15. I literally woke my son up so he and I could watch the fourth quarter of a "meaningless" win against Dallas in a game that nobody gave us any chance to win. He's about to graduate from college and still gives me **** about that lol.
  16. To clarify, Wide Right and Homerun Throwback are clearly #1 and #2 on my list, with the Dallas game solidly at #3. Just saying that Just Give It To 'Em is a good, clean example of the officials literally handing the game to the other team for reasons known only to them.
  17. I'm 48 years old and I'm still legit mad about "just give it to 'em." That game occupies a special place in my heart because I was on the road that weekend to interview for the job that I currently hold. This was back in the bad old days of highly limited internet and I had to go off highlight shows to see what happened. It took a couple of days for it to sink in just how preposterous that loss was.
  18. If you watch the NFL besides just Bills games, somebody seems to take a loss like this one nearly every week. This week was our turn. It's one thing to eat this sort of loss against a scrub team that you're supposed to beat. Coming off a win against Seattle and knowing that we were one PD from a win against Arizona, it's a lot easier to absorb this one knowing that you went toe to toe with a legit super bowl contender. I'm very unhappy having the win ripped out of our hands (literally) at the last second, but it counts the same as the three point loss we take if Allen doesn't find Diggs or the whatever loss if our defense doesn't keep Arizona more or less in check. My guess is that this game just affects playoff seeding in a way that's impossible to evaluate right now. We were most likely never getting a first round bye, so it just affects our draw.
  19. Agreed 100%. This is the second game in a row where our defense actually played extremely well even though it doesn't look like it in the stat sheet, and of course all of us will remember the last play for the rest of our lives, so there's also the availability heuristic at work. This loss goes to Arizona for a sensational (if flukey) play at the end, then to our offense for not scoring enough quite enough points. The defense played well enough to get us the win.
  20. For the record, the defense played as well as you could have realistically expected them to play. Except for one play, of course. But we never take the lead with 37 seconds left to go if it wasn't for the defense.
  21. I think most people associated with that organization look back fondly on the day they left the Jets.
