Former Bills CB Levi Wallace takes blame for 13 Seconds
Nihilarian replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
It isn't like the Bills haven't played this team previously and don't know their package concepts. In 2020 the Bills played the Chiefs in week in week 6 and were beaten 26-17. The Bills defensive strategy for that game was to play off the receivers while not allowing anything deep. The Chiefs countered that by running the ball 46 times for 245 and Mahomes had a modest game, 21 of 26 for 225. The Bills played them again in 2020 in the conference championship game and changed their defensive strat and were beaten 38-24. Mahomes 29 of 38 for 325, 3 TDs. In 2021 with Mahomes having a rocky start to the season following that beat down in the SB by the Bucs. The Bills played them in week 5 and beat them like a drum 38-20! The Chiefs and Mahomes eventually got their offense straightened out and finished 12-4 with home field throughout. In that 2021 playoff game against the Chiefs that supposed #1 Buffalo Bills defense gave up 552 yards of offense to the Chiefs, losing 42-36 in OT. #1 defense? Lies, damned lies and statistics! I also don't count losing Tre white with a seasone ending injury as the reason for a lot of the failures. My view is that the Bills ST coach took some heat for that kick off, he's gone.🐐 Wallace also took some heat, he's gone. 🐐 The real culprit is the is someone different! C'mon now, giving up 552 yards of offense! Playing a prevent defense for those 13 seconds. It was stunning to see the Bills defenders guarding the sidelines while the middle was wide open!! The only players on the LoS where the Bills 4 down linemen as the rest were 10-15 yards off the LoS. Josh Allen played a great game against the Chiefs, 27 of37 329, 4 passing TDs all for naught because of defensive stupidity. That Tampa Bay game, week 14. Last play, LBer Edmunds was covering a WR. He got beat, TD, end of game after such heroics by the Buffalo QB. 41-15 loss to the Colts in week 11 with hapless Carson Wentz as their QB. Why? because the Bills defense gave up 32 rushes for 185 yards, 4 TDs to Colts RB Jonathan Taylor. Some really questionable defensive play calls throughout the 2021 season that cost the team some games. Homefield. A home playoff game in Buffalo... Is the ghost of Skeletor roaming the halls at OBD? We all saw who the scapegoats ended up being. I can only hope that those "other" issues where addressed behind the scenes for the 2022 season. -
Doubt I'll ever remember those "13 seconds" fondly! Not ever as thank you! I have two words that follow that phrase "13 seconds" and the last word is the same! I do find it kind of ironic that after that Bills playoff game the Chiefs players and their fans were gloating, saying how much they loved those "13 seconds"... it came back to bite them in the ass against the Bengals. Anyway, Brandon Beane is the man! Best GM in the league in my view and he is going about building the team as he usually does. Let's not forget that both McD and Beane are first timers in their respective jobs and learning as they go. A few things still haunt me from the 2022 season... as in I'll never forget them. That Jaguars game in week 9, 2021. To see the Buffalo QB under that much duress and the Bills offense not being able to pass the ball... or run the ball effectively. And yet, the Bills OC keeps calling for pass plays...47 pass attempts vs 14 rush attempts = a 6 to 9 loss to the worst NFL team the last two years. Pressure, this is the same crap we saw in week one of the 2018 season against the Ravens when Josh was a rookie, Bills QB's sacked 6x. We saw it happen in 2019 against the Ravens with them sacking Josh 6x! Unreal to see the same type of thing happening again in 2021. The Buffalo QB under constant pressure so the offense can't make throws or run the ball. Just keep passing... That Colts game week 11, a 41-15 loss. Images still in my mind from Colts players laughing it up in the locker room after that game...talking about how bad that supposed #1 defense really was. Carson Wentz as the QB...Colts offense, 46 rushes for 264 yards on the ground, 4 rushing TDs. Wentz, 11 of 20 for 106 yards. The Tampa Bay game week 14. Buffalo getting its behind handed to them by half time, losing 26-0. Bucs thought they had this game in the bag. The unicorn gets pissed! He takes the game over, 54 passing attempts for 308 yards yards, 2 TDs. Another 109 rushing yards on 12 attempts, 1 rushing TD. This game goes into over time on a Bass 25 yard FG. Sadly, the game was lost to the Bucs on the last play because someone had LBer Edmunds covering a WR. Unlike most, I don't care to place all the blame on the head guy. Yes, he has to take some responsibility. I don't see him calling the defensive plays as he has a DC to handle that. I don't blame the head guy for the offensive play calls either. Let's hope some things were learned. The way I look at it is, those three games, Jags, Colts, Bucs. The Bills win those and its a 14-3 season with home field. A different story, different outcome.

Good stuff, thanks for posting!

Rd 6, Pick 180 (1): Punter Matt Araiza, San Diego State
Nihilarian replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
What I don't get is... why a team (or the teams fans) that almost never punts wants a punt god? Seems like the NY Jets could really use him. 😄 -
Rd 2, Pick 63 (31): RB James Cook, Georgia
Nihilarian replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills missed out on RB JD McKissic who returned to Washington. His role was to be a pass catching RB in the Bills offense. The Bills just found a guy with some great bloodlines that fills that pass catching RB spot. He can work the slot, play wide...runs a 4.42-40. Great pickup! -

Nihilarian replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really like the pick as another weapon for Josh and the offense. 👍 -
As stacked as the AFC is with top QBs and receivers now...the entire AFC. Plus, the fact that the Buffalo defense is nearly always in Nickle, it wouldn't bother me at all to take a CB/Safety @#2 or more. 😁

Mel also nailed the Josh Allen pick in 2018...when nearly everyone was saying that Josh Rosen was the better prospect. If some think the complaining about this pick and giving up a 4th is bad. Go back and look at that 2018 Josh Allen thread. The bleating was biblical.

If we Bills fans have learned anything about Beane & McD... it's that they know CBs. Ya think Tre White would have lasted until pick 27 if other teams knew what McD knew? They didn't trade up for no reason either as they might have been thinking that NE who also needs a CB might have been attempting to trade up. We don't know. I'm not going to worry about it either. The Bills got their guy.

Bills match Bears Offer Sheet for Ryan Bates, 4 yr deal
Nihilarian replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
This! GM's need to get the opinions of his scouts along with team coaches on players. It's not just his opinion they go with. Not to mention that very few players walk on a pro field and are ready to start and those are usually early draft picks. Sometimes it takes a few seasons of game experience to fully develop a player. I for one am happy that Bates is back as I watched him pancake opponents in the playoffs...where it counts! Hope he keeps up that intensity. -
McKissinc changes mind, returning to Washington
Nihilarian replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I look at it this way...so, the Bills have been very lucky dodging some things...like Antonio Brown, JJ Watt. When things don't work out on a player it can be a good thing...next! -
OT: The sudden existential crisis in New England
Nihilarian replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
This! Bills fans like to underestimate BB all the time. His motto, "if you aren't cheating you aren't trying hard enough"! Right now the man is probably devising a scheme to take out, or attempt to neutralize the Buffalo QB somehow. The Bills have some difficulty winning with the best young QB in the league! Those 13 seconds simply wouldn't have happened under BB! Bills fans still don't know if that will happen again? The Patriots will build a strong power run game and field a top defense. That right there should get a winning season even without a great QB.. Can the Buffalo Bills say that? Lastly, that Patriots under BB are all business... a very strict business! Football is a game and it should be a little fun... even at a pro level. Players talk... and a lot say that playing under BB is no fun at all. But, he has gotten past that with so much winning. -
Bills trade 7th rnd pick for backup Case Keenum
Nihilarian replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cleveland FO is unbelievably stupid as Keenum was an excellent backup and should have played while BM sat out his injury last season. Then, he should have started for 2022 should Mayfield have forced their hand and been traded. The Browns are geared to feature a game manager at QB with a solid O line, run game. It wouldn't have cost them 230 million, 3 first rounds and half of their fans when they signed the sex fiend. The magic man does his magic...again! -
Wasn't that the kid that was pancaking people in the playoffs? Damn, hold onto him!

Deshaun Watson to Browns - $230 million guaranteed
Nihilarian replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The guy just went to a division in which a team went to the SB, Cincy. It also has the Ravens, Steelers who are always knocking on the playoff door. The Black and Blue division! Somehow I see these teams beating each other up so badly that half the team is injured by the end of the season. 230 mill for that guy is crazy! Not to mention 3 first round picks. Is it wrong of me to be thinking that Cleveland will be drafting a QB in the first round in 2025? -

Somehow I see this not being a good thing for Cleveland...it is after all, Cleveland. Mayfield wants to be a Colt. -
Did McDermott's seat just get a little warmer?
Nihilarian replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't get me wrong here... as I absolutely hated Buffalo in a prevent defense with 13 seconds to go! Even Edmunds and all the backers were 10-15 yards off the line for that series. I also hate that prevent defense as in this case it prevented a win. Buffalo had around a 92%+ chance of winning that Chiefs game on that kick off. I can't deny, I wanted someone crucified for calling that defense. Then to watch the Bengals in almost the same position win the next game by staying in a base defense... Stuff happens and I'm almost over it...just don't do that again! -
Drafting Jameson Williams will make us unstoppable

Hate to break it to ya... this team is looking at CB's now that Levi is a Steeler -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
Nihilarian replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The Rams gave up a second round pick, third rounder last season to Denver to trade for Von Miller...for one season! He was a free agent at the end of last season. He played eight games in LA last year. The Rams desperately wanted him back in LA too. The entire team was calling him and begging him to stay, including the HC. (On a side note Denver gave that 2nd to Seattle in a trade for Russell Wilson) Forget the money...its not our money! Who shives a git about the contact? Buffalo gave up no picks! The guy is a premier pass rusher... in the likes of a Bruce Smith. As someone else mentioned Reggie White went to GB at the same age and helped them to a SB! The man has had more sacks the last few years over anyone. To tired to dig up the #s. This player could very well push Buffalo to the SB this season. -
Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
Nihilarian replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
What ya need to think on...is that the entire Bills fans focus was on Chandler Jones, Arizona. He went the Raiders for around the same money as Von...the Bills fans crying began! Then, A Beane miracle! Von, who at 32, is only one month older than Jones. Chandler got 10 sacks in 2021 and 5 came in one game. Von Miller was a hero in this past super bowl. Jones...not so much! -
Did McDermott's seat just get a little warmer?
Nihilarian replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Like in his first season in Buffalo... where he took the Bills to the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor at QB? Speaking of playoffs...like the absence thereof for Buffalo since 1999... Yet, under McD the Bills have been in the playoffs 4 of the last 5 seasons. It took Andy Reid 7 years to reach a super bowl with the Chiefs. So, lets whine about something else... -

The man is probably bent over ...so he doesn't show how he really feels about this move. I'm pretty sure the Bills defensive coaching staff is all smiles atm. -
