  1. "The Bills had a 94.35% win probability when Tyler Bass lined up for the kickoff and sent it flying through end zone." "It was the safe play, certainly. Returner Byron Pringle had two kick returns longer than 30 yards when the two teams played earlier this year and the Bills wanted to keep the ball out of his hands." https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/analysis/13-seconds-short-breaking-down-the-bills-decision-making-in-their-last-second-loss-to-the-chiefs/ "The only issue is the Bills should’ve been more focused on draining each of those final 13 seconds as quickly as possible. Allowing the Chiefs to take a touchback gives them a free 25 yards without losing any time. If Bass kicks it short of the end zone, say inside the 10 or even the 15-yard-line, Pringle would have needed to use some of that precious time to move the ball to where the drive started." "The Bills were so desperate to keep the ball out of Pringle’s hands and risk a long return, which not only is poor self-scouting — the Bills allowed just 18 yards per kickoff return this year, second-best in the NFL — it’s poor logic. Would you rather your opponent have to carry the ball 65 yards with the clock ticking or just 45? With all their timeouts remaining, the Chiefs ate up 44 yards up the middle on just two plays, taking only 10 seconds off the clock." Even announcer Tony Romo was questioning, why not a squib kick? Wide right...MCM, throw back TD and now 13 seconds. Good lord, this will haunt Bills fans forever! Or, at least until they win a super bowl. Very questionable defensive calls to boot...Heartbroken 😭
  2. Agree, however. Don't know If I blame McD as much as I do Frazier. He has had issues all season that I think McD stepped in to fix. Like switching up smaller defenders to bigger to stop the run. Frazier stated just stack the box with the starters and that should be enough. It clearly wasn't! That entire defensive game plan for the 13 seconds and OT were kind of mind boggling to me. Rush with four and protect the sidelines...while allowing Hill, Kelce to run free up the middle. 13 seconds. Yes, making the Chiefs field that ball would have taken time off the clock and even Tony Romo questioned that call. Going into that kickoff the Bills had a 94.3% win probability and I get why they wanted to keep the ball out of the hands of that KC returner, Pringle. BUT, had they kicked short and covered that kick. (Buffalo had allowed only 18 yards per kickoff return this season) It would have taken 4-5 seconds off the clock, leaving 9 seconds to make plays...it took them 10 seconds to run those to plays to get into position to kick that OT FG. That supposed Bills #1 defense gave up 522 yards of offense in this game. I'd be happy to move on from Frazier on way or another...
  3. I keep reading about how Bills fans want that NY Giants RB, Saquon Barkley. I just don't get why though? The guy has been injured the last three seasons and missed 21 games out of those. Even in his rookie season in which he played all 16 games he averaged 5.0 yards per carry. Singletary averaged 5.1 YPC. Four seasons in the NFL, Barkley's average 5.0, 4.6, 1.8, 3.7. In 2021 Barkley averaged 3.1 yards per carry for the Giants. Singletary averaged 4.6 and has a catch percentage of 80%. First off the Bills don't run the ball enough nowadays to pay top dollar to a supposed elite RB. From my perspective the NY Giants have a bust on their hands at RB with the #2 overall pick of that 2018 NFL draft. Those morons should have draft QB Josh Allen. But hey, I'm so happy they... and the other teams passed on him! Buffalo is so lucky to have that kind of talent at QB. A freaking Unicorn! Even as good as Mahomes is, he can't run like Josh! Anyway, In my view, Buffalo RB Devin Singletary proved he is good enough to get the job done at RB when utilized properly. The Bills OC finally removed his head from his butt the last few games in 2021 and he showed he can get the job done. Spending a high pick or big dollars on a RB would be foolish, IMO. Considering the Bills do need an elite pass rusher. There is a big list of edge rushing free agents in 2022. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2022-nfl-free-agency-rankings-edge-defenders Vonn Miller 17 mill, Chandler Jones 16.75 mill, Clowney 15 mill, Ogbah 15.5 mill, Melvin Ingram 8 mill. Do the Bills have 8-17 million in cap space to pay one of them?
  4. Geez, Gabe Davis just did something that Jerry Rice never managed to do and that was catch 4 TDs in a playoff game. The Bills have enough talent at WR and if anything need a new OC who can put them all in best position to make plays. Think of how long this season the Bills fans were complaining about how they don't have an O line or decent RB. The last four games proved that wrong in actually getting improved play out of both. Daboll has his good points but has severe limitations too. Doesn't use Knox, Davis nearly enough. Where was Diggs the last two playoff games? Now, looking back at last years SB and how Mahomes was running for his life that entire game. The Bills did manage 2x sacks and 4x QB hits. Yet, it looked like Mahomes wasn't getting harassed nearly enough from the Bills pass rush. Looking at what the Bills were able to do against the Chiefs and Patriots in the playoffs on offense and what the defense wasn't able to do... the Bills need to improve the DC and defense.
  5. The one player the Chiefs have that the Buffalo Bills don't quite yet have is TE Travis Kelce. The guy seems to find ways to get open and he catches everything. However, Buffalo has Dawson Knox, who looks like he close to getting to that level of Kelce. KC has a better D line IMO and their O line looks better. The difference in that playoff game was the 13 seconds. Bills special teams blew that play, along with the defense that didn't cover Kelce or Hill well enough.
  6. Hopefully those two get hired away... Daboll as Giants new HC and Frazier as the Bears new HC. Dorsey for OC The defense is tougher because you don't need someone who will attempt to remake the whole thing. What the Bills already have does work and just needs someone a tad brighter.
  7. Here, here! great season, great games That unbelievable WC beatdown of the Patriots was one for the ages. Then followed up by a great divisional game against a hated rival in Kansas City. Gotta remember we screwed them back in the 90's with Marty S as their HC and Joe Montana at QB. Gotta find a way to beat them in the playoffs. Home field perhaps, those losses to the Steelers, Jags hurt that. Heartbreaking loss. 😭
  8. This wasn't a curse or bad luck...it was bad coaching, period! Squib kick to take time off the clock and make them return the kick. #1 bad mistake. The sole reason for this loss, IMHO. Leaving the Chiefs two best receivers open was a killer mistake.
  9. He will go to Dallas if he leaves NO. McD isn't going anywhere...4 of 5 seasons in the playoffs and recently in two of the greatest playoff games ever! Get a grip!
  10. 13 seconds that will live in Buffalo Bills infamy... Simply...make...them...return...the...kickoff...to...eat...time...off...the...clock! Now they might not have time to throw deep down the middle and get into a huddle to get that FG. The Chiefs have TWO star receivers, Kelce and Hill...double both...jam them at the line! Not hold, jam them.
  11. That 13 second time left was all on the coaches. Like Romo stated, make them field the kick and return it to take time off the clock. Then, double cover Kelce and Hill and not allow them to run free in the middle. That Buffalo defensive scheme at the very end was very questionable. #1 defense my arse... I hope both Frazier and Daboll get a job somewhere else...
  12. That supposed #1 Buffalo Bills defense got that ranking by beating the hapless Jets 2x, once with a backup QB, once with a rookie QB. The Washington team with a backup QB. The Texans with a backup QB. Miami they knocked out the starter and played against the backup most of that first game. The Saints with a backup QB. The Panthers with Cam Newton as QB. The Patriots 3x with a rookie QB. They might have had that #1 ranking in a lot of passing categories but those stats were very misleading. The Titans put up 34 points on them. The Bucs 33. The Colts 41. Just looking at the way the Patriots rookie QB was finding receivers in that home WC game gave me doubt about how good they were. We all saw what a top defense can do against Mahomes in last years super bowl and this Bills defense gave up 552 yards of offense in that game! Mahomes wasn't running for his life like he was against the Bucs...he was throwing at will. Lies, damn lies and statistics. One new DC might not be enough. Although, I do hope the Buffalo Bills move on from both coordinators.
  13. The way he is calling this game he must have gotten an offer he can't refuse... If not I hope McD watches the film and replaces him
  14. Man, so distraught... Every...away...team...won...so...far...what does it mean?
  15. This! I think the entire team knows that the only thing that matters now... is beating the Chiefs!! They might give it a passing thought that it would be nice to play the AFC Championship at home. But their focus has to be on beating KC. I hope Josh and the team plays as well as they did last week.
  16. This! And the packers offensive line giving up five sacks while not allowing much running. Packer drives, TD, Fumble, Punt, Punt, Punt, end of half, Punt, FG, Blocked punt, Punt. Where was the NFL MVP in this game? 13-5, 1st place in the NFC and a first round bye. Did someone do something to Rodgers to piss him off against his own team? Seems like he was willing to give up on getting to the SB for some reason.
  17. Yeah sure. As someone else mentioned, his sons (Stephen Jones, COO, EVP, is director of player personnel), who are also in that front office kept him from drafting Johnny "Football" Manziel. It's not all Jerrah in obtaining the players. It is him for hiring the HC.
  18. Funny stuff... the owner, GM of the team is not happy with the way the team finished the season... The man is his own worst enemy. First thing he needs to do is step down as GM and hire someone smarter then himself. Although, he would never admit there is anybody out there like that. So, basically he is so stupid he doesn't get that there are men who are actually brilliant at building an NFL team...like Buffalo Bills own Brandon Beane! There are also great NFL head coaches... and he doesn't have one. The lack of discipline from the current team is astounding. That's coaching! That final play in running up the middle was downright foolish, that's coaching. I'm enjoying this mess of a Dallas Cowboys franchise. The man had a brilliant HC in Jimmy Johnson and had a power struggle on who built that SB winning team. Jones was convinced he could do as well or better at building a team. Yes, the Cowboys have been to the playoffs since 1996... 10 times in fact! Yet haven't won a single playoff game since that team that Jimmy Johnson built fell apart. As a Bills fan... gotta love it!
  19. Good to see not everyone is over confidant the Bills will win this game. It will be a daunting task for the Buffalo Bills to go into Arrowhead in a playoff game and win, IMHO. Both teams look to be hot and peaking right now. If the Chiefs cheat and hold the Bills WRs like they did in last years AFC Champ game...and the Refs let them get away with it again. Gonna be a long day for the Bills. All things being equal I'm hoping the Bills keep their mojo going from that beatdown of the Patriots and beat the Cheaters...err, Chiefs. I don't care about the score as long as Buffalo moves on to the Championship game.
  20. When you're right... @Doc "Reports came out prior to the tweets coming out that the Browns were locked-in on Mayfield. And if some old tweets were enough to change their minds..." "Late Thursday morning, about nine hours before the draft, he gathered the senior staff to tell them the order of the quarterbacks, and what he was likely to do with the top pick—take Mayfield. He kept the board covered until early evening, and shortly before the draft began, the room knew the QB order. And, of course, who the top pick would be. How’d I find out on the Sunday night before the draft that the pick definitely would not be Josh Allen" https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/04/30/baker-mayfield-cleveland-browns-draft-mmqb-peter-king Interesting note... " Josh McDaniels who visited Mayfield in his hometown of Austin on Monday. That would lend credence to the theory in some corners that if Mayfield dropped down to, say, six or seven in round one, New England might have been able to offer enough to move up from the 23rd pick in the round to tempt a team in trade." Even Arizona... • They got very little action on the No. 4 pick. Four teams called Dorsey with interest in moving up. None got serious. Only one team (I’d guess Arizona) offered a 2019 first-round pick as part of the package to move, which is surprising considering that two quarterbacks were still on the board when the fourth pick came up. The team willing to include its first-rounder next year said to Dorsey before the draft began: “I’m coming up for one player and one player only, and that’s Baker Mayfield.”
  21. The Cleveland Browns were locked in on Josh Allen as their #1 overall pick! But then, someone released some tweets hours before the 2018 NFL draft by Allen having made derogatory remarks while in high school. (Wonder who could have done this *cough* *cough*) "ARLINGTON, Texas – Quarterback prospect Josh Allen said he was “deeply sorry” for racially insensitive tweets that surfaced early Thursday, hours before the start of the NFL draft. Allen did not deny sending the tweets, which were reported by Yahoo Sports on Thursday and included racial slurs and other offensive language, when he was in high school." https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/draft/2018/04/26/josh-allen-tweets-nfl-draft-2018-first-round/556369002/ Sure didn't stop the Buffalo Bills from trading up in the draft and selecting Josh Allen
  22. Man, I sure hope the Bills coaches, players don't have this much over confidence.
  23. So many things wrong in that SB IMO. The Bills didn't run Thurman nearly enough from the start! 15 carries for the guy that got them that far was almost criminal. The Bills ran more then they threw it in those days, 425 pass attempts vs 479 run attempts. That Norwood 47 yard FG was on grass shouldn't have even been attempted in knowing that Norwood kicked poorly on grass and his leg was weak. 47 yards for him would be like a 60 yarder for Bass. 8 seconds left they should have tried one more pass to the sideline. That Buffalo defense was built to speed rush the passer... but lame as heck in stopping the run. NY Giants Time of Possession 40:33 vs 19:27 for Buffalo. Geez, change up the players to stop the run. The Giants didn't have Phil Simms who was injured, as their backup QB was playing, force them to pass. The fact that Bruce Smith had his hand on the Giants QB's wrist with the ball in his hand... in the end zone. Thought for certain that would have been a Buffalo TD. Simply out coached. It's like nobody on the Buffalo staff watched film on the Giants.
  24. First off, it's only natural for a team that just played a "perfect" game against a hated division rival...blow them out in a playoff game (30 point differential) to have a let down. That Buffalo Bills stadium was "crazy town happy" that Saturday night. This let down could happen on so many levels. That was against the #2 defense in the NFL too. The main let down in thinking that they are so good... that all they need to do is show up and they win! That 1990 Bills team overlooked the fact that the NY Giants had just beaten a prolific 14-2 49er offense 15-13! Next, beating the Chiefs at Arrowhead will be a daunting task as KC scored on 6 drives...42 points against the Steelers defense! Yes, I know...Pittsburgh was 9-7-1 with the 20th ranked defense. Still, they saw what Buffalo did and wanted to show them that they are still an offensive powerhouse...and they are! On another note, I can recall back in the 90s, then Chiefs HC Marty Schottenheimer whining that the AFC Championship game should be moved to a neutral site. A playoff game in Buffalo was just to much of a challenge for any team. That crying went nowhere. Gotta remember...these Chiefs play dirty...they hold like crazy...remember Tony Romo calling the Chiefs defense "sticky" in last years Champ game? Their O line was holding, their DBs were holding and meanwhile the Buffalo Bills were playing clean and getting toasted for it. My hope is the Bills re-watch last years super bowl game in which the Bucs defense destroyed the Chiefs and had Mahomes running for his life! They held that vaunted KC offense to three field goals, 31-9. Buffalo needs to figure a way to copy that spectacular Tampa Bay performance. I also think that Tom Brady being Brady... spoke to the refs before the game and told them to watch out for all the holding the Chiefs do. Chiefs were flagged 11 times for 120 yards. The very first series the Chiefs were flagged for holding. On an even field... the Chiefs were smoked! Lastly, nobody should be over confidant that this game is a win either way. It should be a war! Kinda wish the Bills had Tre for this one...That #1 defense is about to be tested big time. Just think, the Bengals or Titans are so happy that they won't need to face both the Bills and the Chiefs as one will get knocked out after this game.
  25. Think about that for a min. In my view Gruden had complete autonomy as he was able to hire a TV draft analyst as his GM! (Know any other NFL HC's that could have gotten away with that?) It was Gruden that liked QB Nathan Peterman... Look at some of those later picks, DE Maxx Crosby in the 4th, WR Hunter Renfro in the 5th. Like Yolo stated, this firing was probably a condition of Harbaugh being hired as he most likely wants more control like Gruden.
