  1. Is this a trick question? When your coach is Doug Moron!
  2. I don't like not having a dedicated back up FB, I'm not even going to describe my feelings on our o line depth. Who's our backup long snapper? DOOOOOOM
  3. Interesting, that most of your examples are situations where we don't have a verifiable verdict on yet. I'm a little nervous about all those decisions too, but we'll see how they turn out. After watching Watkins play I feel a lot better about that trade. I'm no expert but just watching him play, compared to some of the other "elite" receivers out of that draft and I definitely prefer Watkins by a mile. I remember when Nix was GM, he spent a lot of time talking up Whaley, and mentioning how integral he was to the process . . . so that argument at least cuts both ways. Yeah, the only thing higher than Whaley's approval is Pegula's!
  4. Yeah I think we got a good look at the ceiling of our QB play in the 3rd preseason game . . . Looks like 19 is our ceiling with either QB.
  5. It certainly appear as though everyone agrees with you based on the poll! I know I sure do! I've said this before, but this seems an appropriate thread. The fact that so many of Whaley's moves seem a little suspect and seem a little bad is really just an indication of how good he really is. It just shows that he's operating at a much higher level than so many commentators and GMs in this league.
  6. Seems like we have TE and FB intermixing a lot, and switching between the two positions. Gotta wonder about where Felton might rank if we need some help with touches, or even Clay?
  7. lol, that about sums up our "knowledge"
  8. I can imagine a world in which we sign him again over Whaley's protests for 3 years to meet his goal and then cut him after one.
  9. I will be there, coming all the way from SC.
  10. I don't think those captains are random, those are the best players and probably leaders we're putting on the field.
  11. Really amazed this topic is only 7 pages. I'm feeling down . . . really really down . . . Can't believe Brady won . . . it's not even the suspension . . . its not even Brady . . . I just don't like the league loosing this much power. Ok maybe I just don't like a cheater being vindicated. I'm really scared EJ will be good, but we won't give him the chance he needs in Buffalo. What if EJ and TT get injured and Meh gets cut, as I hope he does . . . what if we loose all our CBs . . . what if . . . WHAT IF? You just know the other shoe is gonna drop . . . things can't keep going this well . . . I think something terrible is about to happen
  12. ridiculous. precedent is extremely important.
  13. Nonsense. If a player doesn't want to be here they need to go. Whether its Byrd Lynch or someone on the practice squad.
  14. I think sometimes things like that can fall into a grey area, where their common appearance in life allows for their use without permission. Like cars and car logos. Plus you gotta figure it would be pretty great for their movie if the NFL did something stupid like taking them to court.
  15. I don't seem to like most of Whaley's moves, but that just shows how savvy he is. The proof is in the roster.
  16. While normally I might go 8, but it was an extremely close contest imo, so I went 4.
  17. It could easily be a smokescreen. All it takes is one player willing to burn a bridge with a reporter. Although I doubt it. As has been pointed out quite often there's really not that much incentive to doing so. Let me ask you though, if your Indy are you really not even going to entertain the possibility that we have another qb behind center in game 1?
  18. I can't recall seeing so much concensus before.
  19. Keeping a bunch of players who don't want to be here is an obvious blunder. I'm really sad he didn't want to be here.
  20. That list just made me realize how bad our qbs have been lately. I keep hearing people talk about average qb play, but I can add 5 to that list pretty easy . . .
  21. that's about it. better that we're sitting here bitching then all the other 31 teams if we were the best.
  22. Found this -- pretty interesting http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/article-5/Percy-Harvin-as-Punt-Returner-Well-See/3361add1-ab3a-46a8-a3e1-4aace3009719 From last year -- Comment on this article was pretty funny, text to follow: In the first half Greeno Smith is 6 of 30 for 2 yards and 3 pick sixes... one of which is thrown to a Bills fan sitting in the first row who then runs it back for a TD... the refs allow TD because they knew Greeno would just throw another pick six on the next play anyway... Jets fans agree. Puzzy Harvin fumbles his only two kick returns in end zone which gives the Bills 14 points within a span of 5 seconds... Harvin then leaves game because of a migraine headache due to a broken fingernail... when Harvin arrives in the locker room he starts a fight with Mark Sanchez (who shows up every game to plead for his job back) ...Harvins boo boos put him on the bench for the rest of the season until he is traded to the CFL in exchange for a pound of canadian back bacon.. Canadian newspapers proclaim that Rex Ryan is a masterfully shrewd negotiator... CFL fans agree. In the second half Michael "beat a dog with a stick" Vick is 9 of 45 for -50 yards and sacked 26 times... but is still named the Jets starting Quarter Back over Greeno Smith ... Jets fans agree After the blow out loss to the Bills, Rex "foot sex" Ryan gets a migraine headache of his own because his defense was made to look like five year old school girls by Sammy Watkins and Bryce Brown... in the post game news conference Rex asks Doug Moron if they could switch teams for the remainder of the season... Doug thinks about the offer for a few days because... well lets face it... Doug Marrone isnt very smart... but Rex Ryans decides to stay with the Jets because his new Geno Smith tattoo could still pass as a Michael Vick tattoo... A week later Doug Marrone is forced by Terry Pegula to remove his EJ Manuel tattoo... Buffalo fans agree.
  23. I probably would have voted for Harvin but I wonder if he's not a little too fragile for punts. He was so good at kick offs that punt returning must be a big problem or he would have done it before. I voted Williams.
  24. It's Rex's call. No question. He IS the head coach. The buck stops at Rex. Rex isn't giving input, he's receiving it and if he's good he will probably realize that the input he is receiving is more valuable than the input he might give.
