Ok, prove me wrong: Offsides on kickoffs
Steve Billieve replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the point is we were offsides. I think it doesn't get called much because it doesn't happen much. -
I think that its dangerous to confuse poor play calling and poor coaching. They are definitely not the same, and I don't think play calling is the most important part of a coaches job. I think I've heard Rex confirm that play calling is not his strong suite. I do think we have very good coaches, lots of good coaches, in this respect I feel very confident that we are above average. I think it's foolish to be too critical of the play calling when you don't know what the game plan is. You have to give your preparation a chance. If you're not executing well how much does it matter if you're running or passing? If for instance we're consistently loosing certain match ups it could be very dangerous to pass before we've made those adjustments. Sometimes you can take certain liberties when you have a great D, we have proven we can be a 4th quarter team.

Bills Offensive Line ranked #9 so far this year by PFF
Steve Billieve replied to Big C's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. I'm having a hard time figuring out how I feel about Roman. Love him one minute hate him the next. It's so confusing. Maybe if we can just string some results together it will clarify things for me. One thing has become clear though, I hate Moron(e). -

Predictions: Bills at Titans
Steve Billieve replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There should be some sort of law against "reporters" quoting people without including the question they were asked. What's the point of the NFL mandating press conferences when you can't even answer a question. -

The elephant in the room.....
Steve Billieve replied to SUNTANBILLSFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thought our D had an alright game. That said there were definitely a lot of missed opportunities on both sides of the ball. I don't think we know what our offense or defense is 4 games in. -
We should see the true character of this team soon

The Pats* will turn out to be the head scratching loss as we march to an 18-1 record. -
How Do We Convince Roman To Stay?
Steve Billieve replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing. It really is that simple. All there is to hope for is that he won't leave us for a bad situation with an out of control owner or front office. HC in the NFL is the dream, just like playing is for the players. No amount of money or well wishes will change that. Realistically that is the option. -

Whaley is a beast. I wish they sold his jeresey. -
I hope the Bills can keep Percy Harvin

I'm loosing sleep over Incognito too. Those seem like really big losses right now. -
I saw Suh triple teamed more than one. That earns you a positive grade.

I think if you tackle the kicker it's one penalty, if you run into him it's another, but if you're tangled with a blocker and make contact it's not called.

NFL will again revisit most unfair rule in the game
Steve Billieve replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think we should exactly say the rule is unfair. Lets just call it ridiculous, unintuitive, and confusing. The rule bothers me because of this sort of situation: Runner streaking towards the pylon, reaches out with the ball to get it over the line . . . this sort of thing happens all the time but the outcome of the situation can change dramatically without what the players/fans/etc experience being drastically different. As we've seen refs rulings on possession can be tough to stomach. One instance of this that the Bills were involved in last went in our favor but easily could have gone the other way. I forget which game, but Sammy Watkins was diving for the pylon one handed with the ball, right around when crossed the line the ball came out and traveled into the end zone and out of bounds. They gave us the TD but it could have easily gone the other way. To me, it seems like refs are very generous to the offense when dealing with this situation. Honestly it seems like they're scared of the rule which generates a lot of ambiguity, which in my opinion is not a good thing. The league should want players fighting for that extra inch especially when it comes to getting in the endzone. -
No one wants Chip Kelly to succeed, except Eagles fans. If he does, he'll make everyone else look foolish. I think everyone knows we got the better player but the worse contract out of the trade. Correct or not, the strength of the trade will be viewed within the confines of the contract they gave him afterwards. It's not this season or next that will make up peoples minds, but what happens after that.

Is everyone happy Brady got to play us?
Steve Billieve replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad we played him. We're gonna lose some games, its just going to happen. I'm not sure this was a bad game to lose, I think it'll put a little more fight in our defense. Our offense scored a lot of points. We were obviously not performing at their level, yet we still had chances late in the game. I think it set a good bar for the level that they need to be performing at. I think its good this early in the season to not buy into how good we are. The suspension might still come . . . -

Bills Trade Cassel to Cowboys

Lol, yup. That new castle contract has got to help his trade value quite a bit. I wonder how it's structured, could castle be paid a lot more if he's starting? -

QuarterBillionDollar embarrassment

I saw Hughes dropping back a lot . . . I wonder if that might have been a factor . . . At least Rex took credit for a job poorly done? I don't know if that's something he normally does? -

I think you should keep going! -
Yep, for sure. Definitely not worth the risk, you don't want him feeling bad all game.
