i just thought everyone should read this again

I strongly disagree with what most of you think is going on in the roster competition. Dixon isn't competing with Brown he's competing with John Conner for the back up FB and ST role. That Dixon can carry the ball well is just a plus in that battle. Brown is competing against Williams and Jackson with very little chance of beating them out. Maybe if Dixon had really shown something running the ball we might have considered carrying one less back.

Good linemen are very tough(expensive) to acquire, and seem to under produce quite often. I don't think that should be put on Whaley.

I'm going to go with this. At my bar we will not do the shout song. I would imagine there are situations in which we would sing it, they just haven't happened in since I was allowed to go to bars.

Most drug tests have thresholds, I believe the NFL sets these thresholds at whatever level they choose. That said, its very unlikely that second hand smoke would result in a positive test, unless he's locking himself in a closet putting a towel under the door and burning a lot of pot.

I can't wait for the season to start so people will stop writing this stuff. You would think, that if these writers really did think the Bills were going to cut their 1st round QB pick in his rookie contract, with basically no cap savings, when he's at least shown a couple flashes, however brief, they would be writing about the incompetency of our organization instead of including him on lists like this.

There's also the sample size. When you only play 16 games strange things can and will happen.

Depth isn't just an issue when players get injured, as they inevitably will, but also when they under perform be it in a season or even just a game. You hear the coaching staff talk a lot about guys that can contribute, it seems like the media likes to ignore its significance.

I'm not sure that I agree with all of those comparisons, especially at WR, but the big difference I see in this years squad compared to 04 is our depth!

Every coach wants to be an NFL head coach. It's like every players wants to be an NFL player. You don't get drafted and turn down your contract because your worried about the situation your stepping into any more than you decline a head coaching job. Obviously the frost office thought they were on the same page as Pettine or they wouldn't have hired him, and I'm pretty sure Pettine thought the same thing. Most of these guys whether they're players or coaches believe in themselves and believe they can do it, regardless of what that IT might be.

The front office has said that resigning Darius is a priority, and they hope to get it done before training camp. Since the change in ownership they have signed everyone they said that they were planning to sign, it might have taken a little longer than expected a few times but they got it done. I don't see why this situation would be any different. Maybe we're getting a little bored in the offseason?

Only way Dixon is dropped is if The Terminator really shows up and locks down FB depth! Dixon is pretty much a lock as backup FB, which we're obviously planning on using a decent amount (not to mention ST). Now if we do take Conner then do we drop both Dixon and Brown?! Williams is almost certainly going to make it as well on upside/ST alone. As long as Fred is the best blocker when we're going in the air I don't see him getting cut.

I LOVED having Spikes! That said if they wanted him they would have gotten him. Also with our latest PR I think a move like this might be prohibitively distracting.
