I agree with you, but I don’t think there’s some congress of powerful people somewhere colluding in secret. I think any observant spectators realized that the circus was tanking his draft stock. A conversation here or there is not exactly collusion.

I don't think this is even enforceable for regular player use, like what are they going to do, test every cloth you have on your person and available to you? I have to assume that it is mostly about team injury protocol, and what the medical staff is allowed to do more than what players are allowed to use in all practical terms.

The Bills generate about 80 million in ticket revenue, less expenses. I just don't understand how that pays for itself in a meaningful way by replacing the stadium every 20 years. I understand it's an older stadium, but the build price of a new stadium is a very significant portion of total ticket sales over the life of the stadium. I don't think it's crazy to think that some other motives are going on. As far as fu money goes I can't think of a better price than an NFL franchise, it's not crazy to think these guys care about how nice and modern their owners box is, or that they want to build and design their own stadium.

To whom exactly? More hubris is my guess. Owners aren't making more money with new stadiums.

It has no affect on the owners, the only people it affects are other players.
