  1. Beer Works downtown used to have a pretty large bills gathering, just a couple of years ago (I moved). Maybe 30% of the bar? But it's more of a general sports bar, it's also quite a bit younger and more rowdy than Hunley's. Teams settle into their respective zones, and there's a good bit of heckling and the like as multiple games are on. You definitely can't expect sound or anything like that. Anyways, just another option. Probably went there for 15 years before I moved. Should be filled with Bills fans on a Thursday, close to dt and other attractions, wings are pretty decent, but so are Hunley's. Definitely more drink and food options at beer works, but if you just want a Labat's and some decent wings go to Hunley's.
  2. You sound fun
  3. Difficult to imagine a better destination, he doesn't have to sign for more than 1-2.
  4. I don't see why. Regular season is now the preseason. If we don't make the playoffs things have gone very very wrong. You can argue that the bye is worth fighting for, but with only one spot I'm not sure I buy it. Better to focus on figuring things out and focusing on accountability.
  5. Richard Sherman is definitely on it for me.
  6. It's bad on purpose to make you click.
  7. None of these seem like surprises except Milano. I'll go with Josh Allen. You can't win in the NFL if you turn the ball over.
  8. I'm just going to go crazy and say Steve Tasker since no one has
  9. Which was roughly around the time we stopped letting him kick at all
  10. Should have cut bait half way through last season. Inexcusable they haven't at least brought in some decent competition.
  11. You owe an apology to your mother in law, probably a gift basket too
  12. Try as he might, Benford can't stop family members from using ranch on their wings. The manners !!
  13. Absolutely, that was my prior point in many ways. Also, not an accountant, but folks, if you win more than 5k report! It's a very easy audit.
  14. I mean sure, but no one expects you to. It's like how you were supposed to reports sales tax for online purchases before they made it law. Obviously not a single person did, and no one expected you to.
  15. There's a threshold for reporting to IRS, so below 5k, for the most part, doesn't get reported. So in law, sure, in practice, no. I also think there's a $400 threshold were income isn't taxable, not sure exactly.
  16. No, I believe it requires a cash out positive. So obviously this doesn't really affect too many people. But the gov is absolutely cashing in on those long tail winners.
  17. Heavily so, it's independent of income level as well. Government pretty much takes half
  18. I once watched a woman at the checkout counter dispatch items like milk to buy more lottery tickets. She spent around $200 on tickets. Obviously it's horrible and gut wrenching, and obviously it's addictive. I'm sure it's perniciousness does nothing to help. But however you feel about it gambling addition is and will always be a thing. Sports betting is here to stay. Regardless of whether the NFL profits from it, everyone else has their hands out, and for the most part the public embraces its legalization. Every single NFL player is making life changing money. Family changing money. Stars are now likely to become billionaires. The idea that players may throw games for bribes is ludicrous. For stars there's not enough money even on the table to make it worth it. And for scrubs, they see far too few opportunities for anyone to target them for a payout, and far too much risk of ending their careers were they to accept. I don't see much risk to the integrity of the game. Every year replay reduces the influence of refs. The ship has sort of sailed culturally, politicians want the revenue stream and the public's moral objection has significantly faded.
  19. Had many family get togethers over the years so I'm not sure why this one immediately came to mind. Anyways, we had a black out on tv and we all got together to listen to the game on the radio when I was a kid. I'm not sure why it was so enjoyable, maybe we were all just focused a little more on each other and less on the game. In some ways it was more exciting, you never really knew exactly what was happening, so at any moment a big catch could be a td or not, on tv you would probably know, but listening . . .
  20. I've often thought of you as a critical poster, but I think you may have just made the most delusional comment on this boards prowess since its inception.
  21. pipe down or you'll ruin it for everyone
  22. Obviously they're highly valued, but I think the idea is that a major shift in philosophy about the position is taking place
