  1. Bengals. Sadly, we barely fielded an NFL caliber offense and then the only receiving threat on the field hurt his knee near the end of the first quarter.
  2. It depends really. If I'm running the FO I think I look at potential trade partners once the season is over, but before FA. If there is a deal there I think the path to longer term success will be to make the trade, get your Rook and fill the remaining holes as best as possible in FA (DT, LB, RT, WR2, DE). I would expect us to be worse in 2018 than we are in 2017 if this is the route we go, but assuming the deal is somewhat favorable not too much worse. Something like what the Rams did to get Goff. If the trades are too steep, or I can't get high enough to comfortably secure my QB of choice I make the best possible offer I can to Cousins and promise him 2 of my first 4 picks go to the offense. This is what I believe to be the team's fastest track to winning and winning regularly. If Cousins is a no-go I talk to Smith. The other plus for Smith is that he's been with Andy Reid, which it seems makes him favorable to our FO. He understands the process and what the organization expects out of him. Assuming he signs I take whatever QB makes sense based on the draft board. Maybe that's Rudolph with our later 1st, maybe it's Ferguson with our 3rd rounder. If both Cousins and Smith don't pan out I look at the next tier, as we will need to bring in a vet as insurance. Bradford, McCown, Keenum, Bridgewater, or Osweiler. Then I pay what I have to in order to move up and get the QB of my choosing. This will put us the furthest in the hole, but should set us up long term if we identify the right prospect. All that being said, as I mentioned in another thread, I expect we'll settle in both departments and end up with a combination like Bradford and Rudolph. I plan on starting a thread for offseason plans once the draft order is finalized. Will look at everything including available UFAs, Cap Space, etc. (hopefully)
  3. Smith is still only 33 and plays a game conducive to being able to play into his late 30s, so they would see him as buying them some time and the ability to stay put (or move up significantly less) and take the risk on some potential rather than the total package.
  4. Bradford is an option, but due to health concerns he's not a guy they can count on for 3+ years like the other 2 are. So, imo, if it's Bradford he's coming pretty cheap and they're still looking to move up.
  5. In FA they'll make their best possible sell to Cousins, then Smith. If they settle for anyone else they will need to try to trade up and acquire a young guy that they like.
  6. It's a terrible point that should really never be made. It can always be worse, and in our case it was displayed that it can be much worse.
  7. No. Clean break for everyone involved is best at this point.
  8. Have you really not learned that this is false yet?
  9. I found myself wishing that arc was replaced with a couple flashbacks to flesh out Kylo turning. One with him training at Luke's academy, and one to add some depth to his relationship with Snoke.
  10. Bryce Petty's still under center for them, right?
  11. Yeah, I assumed lose to NE and beat MIA
  12. From what I can tell, we need: Titans to lose out (Playing Rams & Jags, so certainly plausible) Either the Ravens (Colts & Bengals) or Chargers (Jets & Raiders) to lose a game.
  13. Head to Head will likely be skipped in a 3+ way tie. As far as I know it'll come down to Common Games if all tied teams have 4 in common, or Strength of Victory if not.
  14. It's like they forgot the Tampa Bay game this year...
  15. As soon as Clay went down that game was over. We didn't field anyone else worth caring about to catch the ball.
  16. We did pick up that CB off Oakland's PS that one writer thought was promising! It was Thompson, I think.
  17. I respectfully disagree, but I can understand that. I just think it's a better comparison than the original one presented. Would you rather be the team that has won 5 of the last 15 Super Bowls or the team that hasn't won a playoff game in the last 27 years?
  18. Would you rather be Houston or New Orleans? Since 2012, one is 41-39 with 3 playoff appearances, 2 playoff wins, 1 season with a losing record, and their success was built around a talented roster and mediocre plug & play QBs. The other is 39-41 with 1 playoff appearance, 1 playoff win, 4 seasons with a losing record, and their success was built around a great QB and mediocre roster.
  19. I'm pretty sure you're still thinking of Kurt...
  20. Agreed! But I'd totally take his cousin, Kirk!
  21. Just got back. Maybe my expectations were too high...
  22. If you ask Shanahan I'm sure he'd tell you RG3 isn't a process kind of guy.
  23. Penny reminds me so much of Deangelo Williams coming out. Hopefully Beane sees the same thing.
  24. Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis Braxton Berrios, WR, Miami Rashaad Penny, RB, San Diego State Chad Thomas, DE, Miami Micah Kiser, LB, UVA
