  1. Whaley wasn't a GM when Glennon was being scouted.
  2. Thanks! We need it with Phillips being out. Not sure how we'll generate offense, but it is a Big 12 D, so maybe there's a chance
  3. We were an 8-8 team that got rid of Sammy Watkins, Stephon Gilmore, and Marcell Dareus (all top 10 picks, 2 top 5) and the worst we can finish is 8-8 again. Not too bad all things considered.
  4. Anybody catch Rashaad Penny's ridiculous performance against Army over the holiday? His first half stat line was 4 carries for 118 yards and 2 TDs He finished with 14 carries for 221 yards and 4 TDs
  5. ? Tyrod gets sacked often, but he has one of the lowest yards lost per sack in the league (3rd this year at 5.67). If you mean total yards lost per game to sacks then he's at 23rd with 17. Notable QBs who are worse here are Stafford, Wilson, Cousins, Palmer, and Rodgers. Top 5 are Carr, Bortles, Rivers, Brees, and Keenum.
  6. Pretty much agree here GB, though Mayfield's place is still very dependent on his Measurables and Interviews imo.
  7. Assuming we get another stop-gap because the price to move up is too high 18: R1P18 EDGE SAM HUBBARD - OHIO STATE 25: R1P25 LB MICAH KISER - VIRGINIA 50: R2P18 WR CALVIN RIDLEY - ALABAMA 60: R2P28 RB RASHAAD PENNY - SAN DIEGO STATE 96: R3P32 G WILL HERNANDEZ - UTEP 120: R4P18 DL HARRISON PHILLIPS - STANFORD 157: R5P18 LB KENDALL JOSEPH - CLEMSON 166: R5P27 S DOMINICK SANDERS - GEORGIA 205: R6P27 QB RILEY FERGUSON - MEMPHIS
  8. Probably shouldn't draft a RB to play S...
  9. Compared to last year I'd imagine, or a 5 year average or something.
  10. Sounds like Bortles
  11. Is it worth mentioning that the 2 main QBs who come to mind with this both went on to win Super Bowls while the teams they refused didn't during their careers?
  12. None that I know of at this point, but he seriously reminds me of Deangelo Williams with a slightly taller frame. And Beane was on Carolina's staff when they scouted and drafted Deangelo I think. Just trying to connect the dots
  13. And Sammy regressed because he has the same real quarterback as Woods?
  14. No, it isn't. An 8-7 team doesn't operate the same as a 2-14 team in regards to personnel and the assets at their disposal are generally different. When a team has a record of 1-10 in a QBs only 11 starts with them (and that QB is 17-32 over the past 9 years with 4 different teams) it is different than when a team is 22-20 with a QB that's started 42 games for them.
  15. Except it is, and basically every example you tried to give doesn't hold up for your argument. And that's before even mentioning that 4 of your 6 examples not only kept their established vets, if they had them, but also had a top 2 overall pick - which we do not at this time. If we're getting Darnold or Rosen I'm with you, but at this point in time we aren't and the team cannot operate as if we are. There will be a vet on the roster (not Peterman) before the draft ever gets here.
  16. You really don't see the difference between saving under $9M in cap space and trading a player for a 1st and a conditional pick that was a 2nd-4th rounder? So they kept him and sat the rookie, like I said. Again, they still had a vet on the payroll until the rookie won the starting job. Are you seriously going to say Pryor was a comparable QB to Tyrod? You're better than this, I think. The Bucs were a 2-14 team that won 1 game with McCown at the helm. They got to pick a QB first overall. That's a completely different situation than what we have.
  17. This feels a lot like a misrepresentation to me. Eagles - Traded up to #2 overall and still kept their vet (Bradford) until the Vikings offered a deal they couldn't refuse. Rams - Traded up to #1 overall and still kept Keenum and sat their rookie until week 11. Only QB departure was Foles. Seahawks - Hasselbeck was let go in 2010, 2 years before they drafted Wilson. They had Jackson on an existing contract and signed Matt Flynn before the draft. Nobody was jettisoned until Wilson clearly won the job through camp. Raiders - Who was jettisoned here? Pryor (now a WR), Flynn (yes, same one from Seattle), or McGloin? Bucs - #1 overal pick at QB. They kept Glennon as a backup because he was still on his rookie deal. Nobody was jettisoned here... Titans - #2 overall pick at QB. Who was jettisoned here? Jake Locker retired and Mettenberger was kept on the roster when Mariota was drafted. Charlie Whitehurst?
  18. Big Penny fan and have been for a while. Can see him in the day 2 conversation.
  19. No, it isn't. You want to start the rookie, period. I don't if we don't get one of the top 4. Hence, I'd like to see who the rookie is first.
  20. That simply doesn't align with reality. I'd wager that no more than 4 QBs from this draft, more likely 3, go on to a better career than Tyrod. And I think highly of this QB class.
  21. Could be any of those. A couple pieces match up with some things I've heard, but then some don't line up at all. Who knows?!?
  22. Wentz is better than Foles. Wentz improved after his team brought in talent around him (just like Goff and the Rams). Jackson was already there and cheap. Flynn was signed before the draft to a $26M deal with $10M guaranteed. If the locker room is quitting because a rookie is clearly the best option on the roster then they shouldn't be on a team. That's just not how things work. I want to know who the rookie is before I make such statements.
  23. We shouldn't. I'm not making that argument. I just answered your question which hypothetically stated if Tyrod was the starter then our rookie couldn't be, why don't you want our rookie to start.
