  1. "Coach" is a loaded definition IMO McDermott's ability to develop a staff and develop players is unquestionably top notch His ability to create and drive the organizational direction and also uphold this standard is also second to none. Will this translate into winning a super bowl? I think it will. And don't I think this even be close debate once all the chips have fallen.
  2. Major Cowboys flop here on this deal... The team is nowhere ready to compete near term. Maybe in Dak's 4th year they will be a legit ready to compete for the conference.. at which point ... same conversation about Dak starts up again, and he will command even more money. Dallas should have gone with a 6 year deal IMO, the team has too many other holes that they aren't able to fill short term and now won't be able to fill long term (post Dak's 4-year deal). THANK GOD Buffalo doesn't have to deal with Jerry Jones in the front office!
  3. It seems that way, but his 'win rate' has been tops in the league the past two years.. just not translating into stats, but I'd imagine it's got a larger impact to the overall success of the unit.
  4. Might have missed that, but was that the reason stated? When I read the headline, my first thought goes the distraction aspect, and hadn't thought of the 'fairness to get hired' piece.
  5. I wish it were possible to know if this proposal would had been made regardless of playoff outcomes.. It makes total sense, but I hate the idea of this being used as an excuse.
  6. Too bad Fitz never went to Chicago the past several years.. I think they'd have at minimum made it to a conference championship and possible had a shot at a superbowl with that defense.
  7. Disagree, how would you explain his backup Hurtz coming in and looking like an actual professional quarterback. Wentz is done, no respect from his teammates, and clearly doesn't have an NFL caliber work ethic.
  8. Yeah.. but that post was idiotic. The past 4 years has taught me the importance of bullying morons.
  9. Agreed. Either guy is capable of winning a super bowl. It's a team sport... continuity, experience, teamates, coaching, and yup quarterback all go into the equation... Unless you're Tom Brady, and can elevate every aspect of a franchise and convince all star free agents to come on board for cheap.
  10. That's maybe your dream matchup. But the NFL cares about money.
  11. Sure... but could 20 other qbs have gotten the Bucs to the super bowl?
  12. ...why is this a dream matchup for the NFL? I'd think that two non-major markets would be anything but ideal assuming maximizing revenue would determine "the NFL's dream matchup"
  13. Good and interesting comparison. But don't forget, comparing our trajectory to the Chiefs sounds 'desirable' today (maybe a little less bc they got pummeled in the SB)... But several years from now, if the Chiefs start to decline, the narrative transitions to 'where did the Chiefs go wrong' compared to 'what the Bills did right'. (hopefully) Basically nothing in the NFL is guaranteed no matter how good you just looked in one AFC championship game.. case in point what happened two days ago.
  14. People on this board are so much smarter then me. Thanks for the breakdown, I should start paying attention to defensive schemes to enjoy this aspect of the game. I never played football at any level, but it's pretty awesome that the totally ignorant fan compared to someone with this type of insight can both watch, appreciate, and still lose their minds watching their football team.
  15. Hard dose of reality right here. I wonder if you see some surprise moves to free up cap space and take advantage of the surplus of good free agents that everyone is expecting this offseason. I could see Beane pulling the trigger to shore these areas up even if it means hurting our explosive play ability somewhat... In the end, if these guys want to win a super bowl, it was made abundantly clear that some changes are needed.
  16. He absolutely annoys me and I hope he doesn't come to Buffalo. BUT I'd trust this coaching staff to know if he could help the team or not.
  17. A day trader worried about a $200 bet... aka owns 4 shares of GME and is unemployed.
  18. All valid points. But I will recommend pulling up the last four years of draft picks to see how many impactful players we've hit on. Sure, lots of guys have room to grow and improve.. but it shouldn't come to any shock if next year, many of the guys you've mentioned are able to elevate their games even further, in addition to another rookie class that is able to make a continued impact. Improvements at every position, every year, for the biggest Team gains.. Team sport.
  19. Jets - not worried about Pats - need more than just a qb to fix their offense, they'll hang around, but are only a realistic threat if Buffalo regresses. Fins - we've clearly got their number and matchup incredibly against them... Maybe it's competitive if Watson somehow moves to Miami, but it would cost Miami a boatload to pull that off..
  20. Why the hell would any Bills fan ever an be in favor of something like this right now?? The Bills are in better Cap situation than the majority of the league, and currently have a massive advantage in 2021 season as a result..
  21. I'd have no problem with this. Another WR/TE weapon would make me happy, but I may just be overreacting to our WR injuries during the AFC championship game.. and I should trust that this coaching group gets an Allen level improvement out of Knox next year.
