  1. Do You really believe preseason information is more relevant than the actual season? If Preseason games and camp will tell us how good someone will be among his peers, then Duke Williams should be Hall of Famer! lol
  2. He was disputing your contention that the earliest information has the highest marginal contribution. His argument (and I agree with this) is that there is much more information to be gained "incrementally" throughout a season. That is, it's much more likely that there are "increasing returns" to information, which eventually diminishes as the season progresses (The second derivative is positive up to a point in the season, then turns negative).
  3. What exactly are you averaging? How can you state he is disputing econ/stats when you don't specify what your ranking is based on? You mention the info includes minicamp and TC reports--what are you averaging there? What you're actually doing is providing a somewhat subjective evaluation (mainly) based on what you've heard from camps, and (apparently) the number of sacks based on one preseason game, but only half of those on the list have actually played a game. So, yes, he can dispute the stats issue because you don't provide any.
  4. I wonder how the 2018 QB class were ranked after their first preseason games....?
  5. It was more sarcasm for the OP then a suggestion. In fact, saying it should be in that thread was the kindest thing I could say....😁
  6. Sweeney looked very good in his rookie campaign too. He simply needs to stay healthy.
  7. Mods, shouldn't this be in the "Overreaction Saturday" thread?
  8. She's adding digital content; her predictions don't matter, hits do.
  9. Me too, and I"m sure most didn't. I would guess it's so teams don't try to game the cap by creating long-term contracts to spread the bonus, when there would be little probability that a player would actually play the entirety of the contract.
  10. That is the point made by the OP, the rules state you can only spread it over a max of 5 years.
  11. I think an improved pass rush will make Levi look a lot better...
  12. In a way, Kumerow reminds me of Chris Hogan: a small-school WR with a lot of talent who took a few years to learn the ropes in the NFL before taking off. As for getting released, the Bills tried to sneak him back on the PS when Smoke came back from injury, but New Orleans nabbed him. Barring injury, Kumerow will make the 53 and be active on game days since he will be a key STs player too.
  13. I seem to recall reading a quote from McKenzie who said that Roberts taught him to be more aggressive on KO returns, "just take it and go!"
  14. Given his value on STs, I think that he's the odds-on favorite as the 6th WR (McKenzie is the 5th). Hodgins would benefit from a year on the PS.
  15. Nice piece in TheAthletic on Kumerow's journey: https://theathletic.com/2748457/2021/08/03/wr-jake-kumerows-journey-from-aaron-rodgers-secret-weapon-to-the-do-it-all-riser-of-bills-camp/ My favorite quote:
  16. I think the early buzz was about Hodgins, so Kumerow was overlooked or forgotten to some extent, despite the fact that Hodgins hasn't played an NFL game. One of the two will make the 53, and Kumerow is the odds on favorite because of his experience and ST ability. I don't think it will be all that difficult to get Hodgins on the PS since he's a 7th round draft pick that hasn't played an NFL game, and he needs that experience. I think the WRs will be Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Davis, McKenzie, and Kumerow, with Hodgins and Stevenson on the PS.
  17. That's why they will make the playoffs, he will get them there.
  18. Yeah, I think they will easily win the NFC East.
