  1. Saw a tweet last week about Dawkins being the highest rated LT by PFF since week 13. As long as they bring back Bates and re-sign Boettger for depth, I think at most they look for someone in R1-3 who can play G/C, then maybe another late pick. I'm in the camp that thinks it won't take much to fortify--meaning finding their top 8--the line this year.
  2. Yes, be cautious during the regular season, but open up the playbook come playoff time.
  3. Step forward. Last year the Bills really weren't in the game with KC; this year it was won....with 13 left. They should be facing the Rams this weekend.
  4. I was surprised when he wasn't listed in the first group of signings. Good.
  5. I enjoy your write-ups as they help in the doldrums of the off season. I think we all suffer from be "our own worst critics" when it comes to the Bills. Regardless of schedule and QBs played, this secondary and D was ranked statistically near the top, and safeties (P&H) always receive praise from his holiness BB. I agree with another poster, I think you're being overly critical of Poyer. Unless you have access to the all-22, it's hard to evaluate if he's slipping or not? I think the team D, and the Pass D in particular, are evidence that P&H had outstanding years. The other point I would disagree with is your assessment of J. Johnson. What little we have seen, I think he's done well. He also represents a significant investment in their system, so I think he's much more valuable to the Bills than to other teams (though I wouldn't be surprised if someone takes a chance on him like the Bills did with Poyer). I don't know enough about him, but I have seen flashes. I prefer to trust Beane and McD on what they do here. I think Levi is more a product of their system and would not pay the projected market value. It will be interesting to see what he commands in the market? Since they most likely won't retain him, I think there's a good chance the Bills draft 2 CBs, one early and one in the mid-rounds. Thanks for your efforts and looking forward to the remainder.
  6. He’s a good target because of the multiple roles he can play, as people have stated. Similarly, people are correct he COULD be too pricey for the Bills cap situation. However, maybe he will be a test for the belief that josh Allen will be a magnet for players. Will he play for the $$, or Chance for the ring?
  7. In terms of helping JA improve his mechanics, Daboll certainly wasn’t primary. In fact, the biggest improvements came after Dorsey arrived. In terms of understanding defenses, I’m sure Daboll was important, but experience is more important.
  8. Maybe he's suggesting repercussions for Ross telling Flores to lose games...?
  9. That was in response to someone saying he'll never coach in the NFL again. As his quote states, he knows that. No idea if he's got a good case against the Giants?
  10. Probably making it more than it is. This stuff happens all of the time. Daboll was here 4 years. How many OCs across the NFL have been in their position longer than 4 years? I'd bet the majority have not.
  11. The thought crossed my mind when it happened.
  12. I'm sure there will be fresh takes by Dorsey, but you also don't want to mess too much with what may be the top O in the NFL.
  13. With respect to the last point about 17 = sum of 4 consecutive prime numbers, I think that suggests JA will make up for the 4 losses with 4 consecutive Lombardis....
  14. This is exactly what I said to my buddies in our group text for the game, that once they went up 21-3, they became disinterested because they thought it was a cake-walk at that point. There was a play or two where it looked like Kelce simply stopped playing when he thought the ball wasn't coming to him (that last sack of Mohomes in regulation being one). People under-estimate the mental aspect of sports, yet this happens all the time.
  15. Very sorry for your loss. He was a regular on the site for a long time. Condolences to your family.
  16. I'm sure Josh is also doing everything he can to keep Dorsey here as the next OC, which may be the most important factor.
  17. I'm not sure how easy it is to compare him to other TEs given he plays on a team with a WR corps of Diggs, Sanders, Beasely, McKenzie, and Davis?
  18. In his weekly look at the film, Joe B suggests things point to Bass not getting the word on the kick-off, given the reaction of Johnson and Neal (I'm unable to include the photos): 1. The ’13 seconds’ meltdown and what the film shows https://theathletic.com/3099135/2022/01/29/clues-to-the-bills-13-seconds-meltdown-and-josh-allens-remarkable-brilliance-all-22-film-review/
  19. This is what I was looking for as I scanned the thread. As I recall, several candidates bailed, and there weren't many options left. The position wasn't an attractive one either with Taylor as QB under a first-year coach. And, if you look at how the Daboll hire transpired, he was hired very quick after Dennison was let go. It was as if McD had it in place before he hired BD.
  20. I don't think there was any way he was going to Miami. The guy grew up in WNY for god's sake, and was a Bills' fan. Giants all the way.
  21. And the first thread on comp picks just to rub it in. Ugh!
  22. Which is why I would think Rodgers would want to stay in the NFC, since it'll be a lot easier to get to another SB? I guess we'll find out soon enough...
  23. The Chiefs have other more important needs to address as @Zerovoltz laid out in the thread on their cap space. I think Reid will probably draft a WR rather than use their limited cap $ on Smith.
  24. While I agree the results may not be consistent with the investment, I would not call the defensive front weak and the results poor. You don't end up as the #1 ranked team in ppg and yards ppg with "poor results" regardless of who you played. According to an ESPN pass rush metric, the Bills were tied for 5th (SF) in team win rate. In addition, Oliver was ranked 7th in win rate among DTs, so one can argue he is living up to his draft status now. What I think you CAN make the case for is the investments in Butler and and Star were poor and somewhat poor respectively. We'll have a better idea on how the draft picks pan out next year, including Epenesa, who I would not declare a bust yet (the third year is typically the most important for many players). https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32176833/2021-nfl-pass-rushing-run-stopping-blocking-leaderboard-win-rate-rankings
