  1. It wasn't just the comment but the smile and almost shrug as he said it. Great stuff!
  2. Are you sure that was Beane? I think that was done shortly after the draft, then they let Whaley and the scouting staff go, then did the "search" for a new GM
  3. I seem to recall reading that someone on McDermott's staff, who had been with Cleveland, recommended he look at him. Not 100% sure though.
  4. Hmmm...it wasn't so long ago that someone was worried about the defense going into the playoffs...
  5. I recall reading an article about Bates and how he was focused on C, hoping to take over after Morse goes. If he can be a good C, it's a lot easier to find guards in the draft, so why not? At any rate, I trust Beane will continue to ensure the Bills meet their needs going forward.
  6. Yeah, if Doyle Pan’s out, then they’re set at OT for the prime of Allen’s career. They will need another G and Morse’s replacement, but it’s possible Bates moves to C eventually. Had they kept Teller instead of Spain, they’d be in great shape. That said, Beane and co seem pretty good at finding OL in rounds 3 and later. Ford was R2.
  7. Epenesa and Basham are busts, probably Rousseau too.... 😁
  8. My dad grew up in Oshkosh, so I grew up watching the Packers, my second team. Bills-Packers Super Bowl would be awesome!
  9. A battle of the backup QBs in that game with Baker out too, so it's a toss up.
  10. i think you're right with 8. Pay him some of what you save by releasing Star. I think he'll be a lot like Milano, he'll want to stay in Buffalo and will take a contract that's mutually beneficial. They'll have Oliver and most likely Zimmer (RFA) at 3 tech, so they'll need to draft another 1 tech.
  11. Hughes turns it up in the playoffs. The past 2 years, he has 6 sacks in 4 playoff games.
  12. You never know, we got Kumerow back after being poached of the PS last year.
  13. From Tim Graham and The Athletic: https://theathletic.com/3039383/2021/12/28/its-so-buffalo-big-weekend-for-the-bills-isaiah-mckenzie-began-when-he-walked-up-to-some-familys-house-on-christmas-eve/
  14. Just noticed on the 4th and 1 play how the entire right side of the O-line and TE dominated the LOS on that play, so it looks like a hand off would've been successful too.
  15. Was it Daboll's play calling or was it Allen maturing as a QB and taking what's given?
  16. Appropriate. The most over-hyped asset in history for the most over-hyped team this year
  17. Interestingly, Wyatt Teller is an UFA in 2022...maybe Josh can convince him to return. Personally, I think the #1 priority on the O-line should be C, not G. There's only 1 top C available in the draft, and he'll most likely go before 20.
  18. This book made the rounds when it came out.. https://www.amazon.com/Interference-Organized-Influences-Professional-Football/dp/068808303X
  19. Don’t know much about geometry, don’t know what a slide rule is for...
  20. I find it interesting they have Epenesa and Groot lined up in the gap between the Gs and OTs with Star and Butler inside them. AJ and Groot are obviously the ones they rely on to block the kick, so I'm assuming analytics tells them this is the optimal position for blockers?
