The NFL's one point play that isn't an XP.
Augie replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would have done better on the SAT’s if they didn’t take place so early in the morning. The hangover didn’t help either. -
….generally if you are the under-performer.

But I’ll take the over on how many plays he lasts. Vegas has the over/under line kinda low since he was gone after the 4th play a couple years ago. I bet he gets into double digits before something goes south. That’s an interesting point I had not considered. We need to move Hard Knocks stat!

….except I may or may not actually show up….drama is everything.

Who was invited to Josh and Hailee's wedding?
Augie replied to Willie West's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, that is their loss. What time should we be there? -
My wife teases me because she says I’m a rule follower, which is generally true. I’m not one who goes looking for free streams, but I have no problem with anyone who goes that route. The NFL deserves it for their greed. I’m sure the NFL doesn’t like that, but they like the alternative even less - I can stop caring. I’m much more of a Bills fan than an NFL fan these days. .

We have to wait a few years for the fast stuff until our little 68 home neighborhood has to tear up and replace the road. It comes up every HOA meeting, especially after everyone worked from home with Covid. It’s all around us, but not available to us.

The Washington game I saw live and had it set to record at home. When we got home I immediately deleted it. Now my TV knows to automatically records Bills games, but I never watch them. I already saw it. .

RIP That’s some of the earliest stuff I remember.

I don’t mean to sound like I’m telling others how to feel or act, because that’s not the case. It’s very personal and individual. But for me I’ve learned that I have no control over what happens to the Bills, but I can have some control over my emotions. I get upset like everybody else, and nobody wants a Bills Super Bowl more than I do. But we have learned some difficult life lessons, and I find it is healthier for me if I keep some perspective. It’s a game. My wife leaves to see her brother tomorrow who is caring for his wife with stage 4 breast cancer and starting a new round of chemo. He needs surgery and is having a hard time getting around, so my wife is going to help. She’s unexpectedly available to go because her job was eliminated last month. (That’s actually a blessing, because they will pay her well NOT to work and she could have a job next week if she wants, or maybe just retire.) We all have “stuff” in our lives that is more important than the Bills, I hope. It’s not productive or healthy for me to hold my angst over 13 seconds or Music City Miracle or Wide Right. It happened, some changes were made, lessons were hopefully learned, and we move on. I didn’t used to be quite like this, but you learn some survival techniques when life kicks you around a little bit. It’s the old what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger deal, I suppose.

He made a few cents under $40 Mil, a very nice start in life. Hope he’s got his health and enjoys retirement.

I’d be very curious to see it, but it will never happen because we are already so heavily invested at the TE position.

OK, I mentioned the UnGala Gala above, so I’ll try to add something interesting. It’s a huge black tie event at the Ringling Art Museum, a grand setting for a big ass party. I went to the bathroom, then to the bar on the terrace level. I got separated from my wife but I pull up to the railing to look down on the band and the dance floor. I thought I’d found my wife when a soft hand comes from behind me as I lean on the railing. I was enjoying it for a millisecond until I looked down and saw my wife on the dance floor. I was so startled I jumped up, and by the time I turned around I couldn’t figure out which gown behind me to thank. I’m not sure if it was a nice hello, or “DAMN! Wrong guy with dark hair in a tux! They all look the same from behind!”

The hype was super high, and he looked like a freak to me coming out. I live right here in Atlanta, so since he doesn’t play for UGA I don’t hear much about him. I’m like a bird watcher when I have a rare Falcons gear sighting.

Who was invited to Josh and Hailee's wedding?
Augie replied to Willie West's topic in The Stadium Wall
You sound like Fr Timlin during my sister’s wedding. He asked “why do we even bother? Everybody ends up divorced!” He said this right on the altar during the wedding….more than 50 years ago, and they are still happily married. I really don’t think it’s just to spite him, but he’d deserve it. . -
When we lived in Sarasota, Fl there was a huge event every year called the UnGala Gala at the Ringling Museum, designed for the younger people rather than the Opera House crowd. We went a few years, and I learned it was actually an upscale meat market for the 30-somethings, but I digress (with some humorous memories). Hundreds of people there, and it was 100% GAYla. Now, the Gala apples I’m not so sure of. .

The whole team and an open bar? There goes his signing bonus! 🤣 -

Happy Birthday! I’ve been to countless weddings starting in the 80’s, and I don’t remember any that did NOT have an open bar. I went to one last year that was catered by Chipotle, and even they had a full open bar. Our DIL used to be a wedding planner, and she always says spend your money on the band and the bar because nobody is going to remember the food. -
PFT article implies that Goodell has pushed out potential replacements
Augie replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because he, and all of us, are just one lightning bolt or heart attack away from not being here any more. Not having a solid plan for succession would be stupid. Period.
