  1. So, you’re willing to hope and pray that a coordinator will be able to make a seamless transition to HC. That is a huge change in responsibilities and skill sets, and a very significant gamble. We know McD is a very good leader of men. So, there is that.
  2. I know we have a lot of people who are still sick about 13 seconds. I get that, it was horrible and painful. BUT….Some of the same people who still can’t forgive 13 seconds have suggested Kyle Shanahan as a successor to McD. Shanahan is the guy who was up 28-3 with 2:25 left in the 3rd quarter of the Super Bowl and couldn’t/wouldn’t run the clock out as the OC. He also lost a double digit 4th quarter lead to lose a SB as a HC. I would suggest Shanahan has shown extended periods of befuddlement that was all on him, where McD was let down by assistants over a brief series of plays. How do you give Shanahan a pass and suggest hiring him while still hating on McD for his unforgivable offense? https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/kyle-shanahan-blown-lead-super-bowl-falcons-chiefs/e554be074afc01fda0f302cc .
  3. I haven’t noticed that many people riding without helmets, but I get that you’d see that more where you live. Or, maybe I just don’t notice details like that because we all just bounced around in the back end of the station wagon. It’s hard to say for sure. 🤷‍♂️
  4. Attack, or be attacked. I go for the edge rusher all day long. It’s easier to avoid a CB than a DE on every single play.
  5. Part of me thinks…..that you should not opine on legal matters.
  6. There’s a flip side to the flip side; you probably didn’t get shot! There’s always a bright side. My wife and son have tinted windows, and they are not up to anything nefarious….at least during the week. Usually. I’m the odd one whose windows are not tinted, but it’s just because I never got around to it. There’s also such a thing as “too dark” which you can get in trouble for. EDIT: I’ve lived in the south for decades, and it’s very helpful. It’s not a vanity thing as much as a practical thing to me. .
  7. I guess I’m glad you found peace.
  8. Here’s the thing, I’m not trying to convince you of anything, and I don’t know why you would want mine to see your “light.” I think McD gives us our best chance to win a SB right now, but I’m willing to change my view given new information. I am the open and flexible one between the two of us. You are just a hater, and it has gotten old and very tiresome.
  9. This is a worthless exercise. I think I’ll go pick up dog poop in the back yard, instead. At least something good comes of that.
  10. So, your plan is to find a coach who got fired for failing. Got it. Brady may or may not be over his skis as OC, so let’s make him the HC. You are making me feel better about my current position.
  11. If I disagreed 5 pages ago, why should I agree now? You have not yet made a compelling argument to influence my decision. So, flip the script and see that you can just write “I disagree” whenever I post. I acknowledge that he’s made mistakes and he’s not perfect. That applies to all of us. I feel he’s our best option at this point. You disagree, without providing a better solution. I have not seen a specific proposal from you to make things better. WHO DO YOU WANT TO HIRE WHO IS MORE LIKELY TO WIN A SB? Andy Reid and most of the obvious choices already have jobs. What practical solution do you have besides “fire McD”? There are no guarantees that things will get any better, and a good chance things start by going backwards during the transition, and possibly afterward. It seems you just want “change” because you are upset that we haven’t won a SB yet. It’s not emotional to me as much as it is a practical matter. I’m willing to see both sides of the argument and weigh the likely outcomes. I lean toward McD still at this point. You have made up your mind and you’re done. That sounds emotional and not very open to both sides of the discussion. I have enough faith in McD for now, but I’m not stuck to any one position. Being that deeply entrenched may lead to a lack of objectivity. .
  12. No, it’s not that I’m not interested in real discussion. You don’t like that I’m not buying what you are selling. I don’t have ultimate faith in McD, but I think he’s our best option at this point in time. Oh, and you did just quote me. .
  13. I don’t know what he’s saying, but I’m saying QB Brady > Old Man Belichick.
  14. For reasons not to hire him, I’d have to add that he is an old man and an A-hole. I think Brady was more responsible for the culture. If we are just talking about building culture, I still prefer McD. I hope his in-game management continues to improve so we can put silly talk like hiring Belichick for HC to bed.
  15. Or…..win the Super Bowl and I will send a lovely, handwritten and heartfelt card along with some Incredible Edibles or something. Sorry, yes, healthy is good too.
  16. I think this dead horse has been beaten enough for one day, at least in my household. Feel all the angst you want, I’m eagerly looking forward to this season.
  17. When you’ve made your mind up, you latch on to things that support your beliefs…..whether they actually help your point, or not. Please don’t look so closely at the facts, because it sounds good and that’s all we want to know. McD isn’t just losing to a group of middling HC’s that happened to make the playoffs. He’s mostly losing to a 1st ballot HOF coach with a 1st ballot HOF QB. It’s his job to beat them, but let’s not pretend it’s an easy task. I think he gets over the hump eventually, but we’ll have to wait and see.
  18. I’m sure you would. I’d be happy to go to FOUR Super Bowls, and try to figure out how to get over the top since we were so close. But you feel free to tear down the team that just went to FOUR Super Bowls. Sometimes things get so emotional for some people that we lose sight of rational thought, imo.
  19. Still not as hot as the visitor’s sideline in the September sun.
  20. Now that looks like good clean fun. The History Channel has a show called “Hazardous History with Henry Winkler” and they did a segment on Jarts, those precious little skull piercing backyard toys/weapons/lawn darts. Apparently Romain Legionnaires used a very similar “toy” to conquer foreign lands. Some of those segments are SHOCKING when you see what used to be so common.
  21. I am quite happy in retirement. For $5 Million I could learn to be quite happy about going back to work for a year. I hope he’s doing it for the right reasons, and pray he keeps his life together. Maybe they are competing with the Jets? 🤷‍♂️
  22. It’s vintage already? Did you pay extra?
  23. OK, Porter sounds vaguely familiar, to give you a gauge of my awareness. But again, I ignore the NBA as much as possible.
  24. Great call on Taxi.
  25. My wife is out now learning to play mahjong with a good friend of Celine’s tonight. Funny that this keeps coming up. My wife’s recently deceased first cousin (but more like siblings one year apart) had a production company that did a lot of events for Celine. David Foster and his wife performed at Michael’s funeral. They were very close. Now my wife and his widow are entering new chapters together with my wife retired and her widowed.
