The Myth of the Bills over-focusing on defense in the Draft and FA

Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract

It is not over. But, he is being extremely stubborn and unrealistic and it is negatively effecting his career. He does not have an agent, correct? Another example of being stubborn and counting every penny. Rarely can someone double dip both ends AND win. He seems to not be the exception. -
Agreed. The cap is about allocation of money on resources and we have too many high paid players at positions you may or may not pay them at. Those positions are luxury positions and you have to be choosey with which positions you allocate those resources of cap to. Agreed. Cap hell or jail is what New Orleans did multiple times. Not sure what the Rams cap situation will like in the future.

Exactly, me too!

Diggs interview with Dan Patrick on 2/10..
Manther replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. It has only been 6 years for McD, but, agreed. Why would we waste an entire window of opportunity with JA17 on someone who has shown he is not capable of winning the Championship. He is holding this team back from being elite and his sidekick Frazier too! -
20 snaps. I missed those. I thought he had zero. I recall maybe two active games. But, don't recall a snap. Good for him to get game action and good for him to sign with the Argo's. I wish him well. He has had a sweet gig in Buffalo being JA17's buddy instead of a 9-5 job.

I like it. They can totally get this done. I just don't think they will do it.
-
I like the thoughts and the game has changed. So, we need to change too.

I hit the laugh emoji because it is true. Frazier relies on some players being ok, good and excellent. Fraizer does nothing himself, he just waits and hopes. Hope dies last and hope is not a game plan.

Draft Strategy. Play to Beane’s strengths!
Manther replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gunner, thanks for the great and easy to understand synopsis. I strongly prefer option 2. With option 2 I think the Bills still win the Division in 2023. With option 2 I think the Bills can move towards a SB contender again. The Bills need to reload and they need to reallocate their resources to different positions which includes sides of the ball. Beane needs to have an above average draft to help our team move forward regardless of option 1 or 2. Beane needs multiple good drafts consecutively to lead us to be Championship caliber team. The NFL is an offense driven league, we need to lead with offense! Bills flaws (fix some, not all and we have a chance)..... - McD as a HC is a Defensive HC - OC needs to learn and make drastic improvements _ DC is old, the game has passed him by and will not make changes - Bills Cap and resources are allocated to the D - Dline is a rotation, many resources are allocated to the Dline which are part time players - Oline needs more resources and strong players - Oline will prolong JA17's career (longevity and successes) -
Would you guys trade one of Elam/Benford/Jackson?
Manther replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed on Benford to Safety, keeping the DB's AND trading out of the first UNLESS a stud falls to us at our pick in the first. Go Bills and please be awesome this draft!! We need it!! -
Agree on Roseman. Agree on the theory as well. IF your team can evaluate well and coach players up well, then take more players and develop more of them successfully. Then you should be better than the majority of teams in the league. The trade up contradicts this theory and the trade up rarely works. Trade up for a QB and barely any other position.

Agreed Round 2 and 3 are hurting the Bills. Oliver was a bad position, type of player and reach at that spot early in Round 1. Even if you hit on Oliver you are using him in a rotation.
-
100% agree. Edmunds was sort of a hit and I will call it a hit. Keep in mind we traded up for 3 of those 4. I don't believe Cincy traded up for any of those 4.
-
Totally agree on everything. AND the DL is for a scheme that is a rotation. Too many resources and "high" resources on the "rotation" AND the rotation does succeed. Even a average plan executed can have good results. This is a below average plan NOT executed = bad results.

When we drafted him maybe. 5 year contract = 17

I think so in order to be a HC.

Happy birthday boys!

Stefon Diggs - “I watched the game five times”
Manther replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree that is where his frustration starts and IMO he is not wrong. They have a team that can win everything and they can't with this coaching staff. The Coaches are very good, but, not good enough. Hopefully they improve and make the jump. Hope is not a plan though. -
