  1. Ralph was indeed cheap. But thanks to a number of the sly and costly clauses he built into the stadium lease related to a team move upon sale helped ensure we still have an NFL team in Buffalo today. Plus, the $1.5 billion his foundation donated to rebuild the waterfront here in Detroit was greatly appreciated.
  2. Or, the smokescreen is we don't have Edmund's replacement on the roster and he really does want Robinson. Hopefully not, but never say never with Beane.
  3. The contract value for DT's is going up substantially. Oliver won't command Simmons-type money, but will still probably get someone to overpay for his services. Just let that someone not be the Bills.
  4. Surprised Kelly didn't say the Bills goofed by not bringing in his nephew Chad to be our backup QB. Give Allen more OL help and he will be fine.
  5. Whew, too complicated for my simple brain. My consensus on all these evaluators is if they were really good at what they do they would be working in an NFL team's front office vs. generating clicks out on the internet.
  6. I agree with good but not sure if cheap enough given what is left in the Bills salary cap piggy bank. This year has been tough re: salary cap $$$, but will become tougher in 2024 and 2025. You can only kick the can down the road for so long while hoping for those big future annual cap $$ increases.
  7. The biggest issue "that headache" will now have is how to spend the $72 million he has coming his way. Good for him.
  8. Not a problem, they would just put out the call for people to earn $10/hr to go up on the roof and shovel the snow off. 15/hr if you fall off the roof.
  9. As long as we have a defense that turns virtually every 3rd and long into a 1st down for our opponents, they could start every drive on the one yard line and it wouldn't matter.
  10. Best way to dismantle the Chiefs, con them into doing a swap of Leslie Frazier and a draft pick for Steve Spanulo.
  11. Unfortunately, I think you nailed what describes our coaching staff... "In the playoffs, we coach to try and not lose".
  12. That's because back then he didn't have all of us at TBD to help him become a great OC. We made him what he is today.
  13. My key takeaway after digesting all of this is I'd better take the under later this year on the Bills 2023 Vegas season won/loss line. Lot's to fix in one year.
  14. Let's not forget... the Chiefs coaching staff was smart enough not to send their kickoff into the end zone with :08 left in their biggest game of the year. Ours were not with :13 left and it cost us our best shot at a possible SB in years. Not sure how we fix the current coaching staff to get them to start "coaching smart" in playoff games. I guess McD should go out and hire another DC Assistant Coach, with this one holding the title of "DC Assistant - Playoff Games".
  15. Instead of Diggs to Dallas let's talk Jerry into trading his brother to Buffalo for Ed Oliver. We could throw in Roger Saffold as a bonus. but his contract has expired.
  16. I will be delighted if our new DC Assistant does nothing more than implement a strategy that results in our opponents not turning their 3rd and longs into 1st downs.
  17. Now don't try and fool us with accurate facts and appropriate and valid support of the points you presented.
  18. Forgetting about Poyer and Edmunds for the moment, and assuming PFF's Top 100 is accurate, I would not be too concerned about losing the vast majority of any of our free agents this year.
  19. McDermott wishes the quake happened the morning of our playoff game with Cinc'y. Then he could use that as the reason he didn't have the team ready to play the Bengals.
  20. Based on his recent problems in Texas he'd be a better fit backing up Chad Kelly in the CFL.
  21. After we got thumped in both games, we would have twice the reasons to question Frazier's defensive scheme in big on-the-line playoff games.
  22. I'll skip the "comical and childish hyperbole" and just stick to the facts. The last 4 years in a row this team has been outcoached (even Bill O'Brien outcoached us) and/or outplayed and not made it to a Super Bowl. This is a results driven league, not T-Ball where everybody gets a participation trophy at the end of the year. I'm tired of "close enough is good enough" and "tough loss, but we'll get them next year". Time to make some tough decisions to change the status-quo.
  23. This team has been on the cusp the last four years and has been outcoached each time. That tells us where the main problem lies. The big question becomes when are the Pegulas no longer satisfied with simply being on the cusp each year?
  24. Good for Diggs, unlike his coaching staff and a large part of the fan base, he is not willing to accept that "close enough was good enough" in the playoffs for yet another year.
  25. Agree, based on the Bills playoff performances since 2017, I guess we will simply need to accept with this coaching staff and fan base that "close enough is good enough".
