  1. The point being the ABC portion of this board was right. EJ crapped the bed and now, noone can say he wasn't given a chance. Maybe not the best chance but he doesn't have it. But, Cassel is Cassel. There could be no doubt who he was either and I celebrate the fact that Whaley dumped him. It forces the issue with this team and if we are ever going to get the QB position set up, Cassel had no part to play in that endeavor. I loved the thread about "If Cassel plays well, is Whaley gone." Right up there with "If Clavin wins jeapordy, what will he do with the winnings?"
  2. Truth is we are all a bunch of idiots for the 16 th year in a row. We don't have a QB, or a coach and this team doesn't need to tank it, the tanking is inevitable. Miami is going to beat the tar out of us... A tale of two coaches
  3. Can't wait till TT the savior comes back and rescues this offense with his stellar QB skills........That , folks, is sarcasm😂
  4. I've heard this same discussion here in Charlotte about Cam Newton. Inaccurate with his passes. Will never be elite. Will never become a pocket passer. He has had the same OC for three years( was his QB coach for two before that). Has had the same offense and has not had to worry about being yanked when he has sucked. Remember Kelly throwing 4 first half pics against the Steeler in 91. Remember that pic he threw against Cincinnati in the AFC championship in 88. You want perfect and you can't get it. Luck... The Jesus of QBs has looked like puke, throwing pics like a machine but people love him and say he needs time to grow. Oakland is doing it right by letting a young QB learn and take his lumps. Miami also. I don't love EJ but he didn't singlehandedly loose the game yesterday and the QB position in general is not the biggest problem on this team.
  5. Hated this pickup from the start. Immediately saw this as Rex insanity. Too many capable players who deserve to play. I'm no Hogan lover but he's better than Harvin, he plays and his routes are better. Same with Woods. Not as flashy, not the upside but you can count on what they bring to the table. You don't even know if Harvin will be at the table.
  6. Defense in the bottom half , close to bottom third of points scored against. Did the D line get old that quick or is the scheme not that good?. TT or EJ....doesn't matter. O is doing enough for a dominant D to win games. Hopefully they turn it around in the second half but this is an 8-8 team. Half empty
  7. TT is not a drop back QB. He is learning on the fly. They seem to realize he has to become one in order to consistently win. This is a experiment so we will have to see how it works. If we make the playoffs and he has to play w/o Sammy and Shady we are screwed. I would like to see EJ get a start at some point. I truly believe he moves the O better yesterday . Yeah, I said it😘
  8. His deep ball sails on too much of an arc and tends to come down nose up. He is not accurate throwing the long ball. He doesn't target receivers in the middle of the field. There don't seem to be many slants but a ton of outs and digs. He consistently checks down, even in situations when it makes no sense. He did't put a single ball into the EZ at end of game. Finally, his best pass of the year was the laser to Woods in the NE game. He doesn't throw many darts. He isn't proving capable of beating quality competition. Next week he should look good beating a bad opponent and all the TT apologists will tell us all how good he was.
  9. We lost. Stop trying to find the clean end of that turd. It doesn't exist. Suppose Kelly actually let Thurman run more in the first SB.......
  10. We had to know there were going to be growing pains in both the O and the D. It might take 8-10 games before Roman and Co really start to jell. Throw in a virgin QB and it only compounds the process. EJ didn't have competent coaching in his first two years. I always assumed Moron was in his ear from the start telling him to err on the side of safety when passing. Not what a new QB needs. One more thing to worry about.
  11. How about hitting the receiver with a good throw? Just an idea. Certain QBs I know of would have been thrown under the bus hard for such a poor throw.
  12. I agree the play calling sucked at times. clearly but I don't believe our receivers were that covered calling for dump off after dump off. He was in there trying to play from the pocket which he clearly is uncomfortable doing. And , if he keeps the chains moving the Pats don't put us that deep in a hole. One hand washes the other. The Pats are a better team.
  13. TT is not a starting caliber QB. He may grow into it but he has A LOT of growing to do for it to happen. Let me be the first to publicly express my displeasure with the fact that EJ didn't dress again. I fervently believe EJ wouldn't have thrown as many bad balls, as many picks and he would have been able to see over the line and push the ball down field in a more aggressive fashion. All we got was Capt. Checkdown the sequel for vast swaths of this game coupled with an inability to climb the pocket. Will we beat teams with TT, probably. I'm just not sure he can grow enough by the end of this season to make it worth it.
  14. Cassel sucks. If EJ was in there maybe. I too assume it was part of some deal to appease Cassel or trigger some incentive.
  15. This. And, Luck is not all he is cracked up to be. Since this cat has entered the league he has been crowned. He throws a lot of picks, 16 last year. I was concerned that our defensive backfield would take some time to adjust but I was wrong. This is a very good start but I wouldn't rank it up there as it is too early in the season. Nice having the tie breaker though:)
  16. On he Hughes offsides, the Colts Left OG was noticeably not set as the ball was snapped. BS!!!
  17. Remember Rothlisburgers play in his first SB? I just hope the team doesn't have too many growing pains early and is able to win some of these early game, starting with 35- 20 over the Colts!!!
  18. Big EJ fan but TT was the undeniable best QB this pre season. Also an ABC guy. Kinda feel like EJ might be the #2. Cassel like Harvin listed at 2 but are they really. I can't see Cassel running the scout team. Fully support TT and hope he is able to last the season but think that might be a tall order....it only takes one hit/fluke play.
  19. Woods will quickly show his ball catching acumen and we will see who TT decides to favor. Barring injuries to either, Woods will have more receptions and yards at the end of the season. I highly doubt Harvin makes it through a full season. I acknowledge Harvin's skills but still think he's a weeny and don't like the signing. I hope I'm wrong about him, even for one year.
  20. Just listened to an interview, here in Charlotte, on local radio with Greg Bell. He covers the Seahawks for the Tacoma sentinel. Panthers pick up a receiver from the Seahawks. He referenced the pending signing of Freddy. He said he was one of a handful of guys that Lynch was close to and he and Lynch had been in contact almost daily since Lynch left Buffalo. He said Freddy was brought in to keep Lynch happy as this is most likely Lynch's last season. I LOVE Freddy. If this happens the Seahawks are my NFC team to win the Superbowl. I hope the Bills do but if not the Seahawks are purely for Freddy's sake. That would be awesome for him!!!
  21. TT starts but EJ backs up. Don't give a damn about his practices. He's demonstrated he's a gamer!!!! Cassel will be best 3rd stringer in league.
  22. Staying at Holiday Inn in Wilmington....the have NFL channel....yea me!!!!!!
  23. To the guy who said EJ can't throw the ball before the receiver is open. The receiver and DB weren't at the 10 yard line on the left end zone fade and the ball was already in the screen shot last game. EJ has won games on this league. He beat a good Dolphins team last year. He did it with Moron and Can't Hackett as his coaches. Dude isn't s dumpster fire.
