That's what I don't understand. Rex said they didn't blitz because they need help in the secondary but every time Fitz threw Marshall, or Decker were in single coverage. Where were the safeties?
This was an 8-8 team last season, their personnel got worse this year.... I'm not sure what everyone expected.
GONE: Mario, Karlos, M. Lawson, Bradham, Rambo
MIA: Dareus, S. Lawson, Ragland, Watkins
...this is at best a 5-11 team.
I'd still like to see what this team can do when fully healthy... Dareus, Lawson, Ragland, Glenn, Watkins, etc... for that reason I don't think Rex or Whaley get canned if they miss the playoffs this season.
How does TT get worse than last year? I don't get it. We've heard all the talk of the first team reps and how much he put into improving this offseason, then he looks like a rookie in his first game. I don't understand why he sucked so bad.. it's like he regressed, and not just a by a little bit. Disappointing.... but you see it happen all the time in the NFL. QBs look great for a bit, then fall off them map once defenses learn enough to start gameplaning around their tendencies. Hopefully he figures it out.
I like Aaron, I really do, he's a fine safety. Liked him at Texas too. Unfortunately, I don't see him making the final roster. He has a career threatening issue with his neck, one bad hit and he's done. I don't expect him to make it through camp, it's time for him to look for something else outside of football.
He's only started 9, 14, 12 games each of the past 3 years. He got injured making a routine tackle last season. Durability is a huge concern IMO... same with Tyrod.
I'll make a prediction. EJ starts at minimum 3 games this season, and plays so well that we have a QB controversy on our hands when Taylor gets healthy.
Wonder how much these aging field turf surfaces are contributing to these types of injuries.
Note that the Bills are the only team in the NFL to use the A-Turf Titan field turf product. "A-Turf" is a company based in Cheektowaga, NY.

Buffalo likes to draft guys out of the SEC, where just about all the surfaces are grass. That said, the artificial surfaces in the NFL are much more sticky than natural grass. I'm not surprised to see these guys pulling up lame at the Ralph as often as they do. That TD catch Sammy had last season, nobody around him, but his foot stuck to the turf and he suffered a severe injury. That injury wouldn't have happened on grass.
