  1. Shows how crucial it is to make the correct head coaching hire. Sets the organization way back each time you start over. Just look in our own backyard. All those poor hires killed us for a long time. I was never impressed with Joseph, but McDermott really hasn't done much better. But I think McDermott should be here next season, but he needs to produce.
  2. Nobody is saying they should be, at least that's how I'm interpreting the video. It's his wish, his desire. Who knows, maybe a change like that will make the league better. In any instance, it we limit the pool that we choose from, we probably miss out on some real talent.
  3. It's something he wants to see, it's his desire. And that's ok. He's not forcing his view on anyone, not starting a boycott... It's a pretty harmless video in my opinion. Nothing wrong with Nate Burleson hoping that blacks would be more represented in upper management.
  4. Was it really? He took a championship caliber defense and made them a mess in less than 2 years. It wasn't a rebuild , that should require at least 3 years, he was supposed to take a competitive team and put them in the playoffs immediately.
  5. but could you understand it? that's the question.
  6. maybe I should watch it again, but I think his point is overall representation should be larger, ownership, GM and onto head coaches. He's not talking racism, just opportunity.
  7. Ryan obviously shouldn't have been hired in the first place. Why did he get such a lucrative contract? Isn't he still getting $5M from Pegula next season as well?
  8. I think the issue isn't necessarily that you are fired because of skin color, but is the leash shorter? are the opportunities fewer? Listening to Burleson, I think that's his viewpoint.
  9. Just wondering if anyone going off on Burleson even watched his video. I hear nothing controversial at all.
  10. Keim has a dui as GM, maybe you smell alcohol too.
  11. So you can give 2 instances to support your argument , so it's case closed. If Burleson or someone else gives 2 instances to support the other side, now what? Case reopened? Cleveland was a mess of an organization , and in Cinci, Lewis was a fairly successful coach, made the playoffs 5 years in a row at one point. Wasn't the greatest coach, but his teams had success.
  12. Don't feel too much pity, looks like he just got an OC job in Atlanta. Not out of work too long.
  13. Why shouldn't he be? I thought Allen progressed quite well during the season. What makes you think he would be a good coach? Does he want to spend 80+ hours a week working like all other coaches do?
  14. You're really extrapolating quite a bit from one simple statement. You say I'm grasping at straws, I say you're looking for an argument. Either way, not interested in what else you have to say.
  15. So you interpret me saying ' isn't getting the production needed like last year' to mean ' they suck'? Brilliant
  16. Shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. We don't need Frazier, who led a pretty solid defense last year, because we have McDermott, who, if he really is calling the plays, isn't getting the production needed like last year, especially when giving up 270 yards rushing last week.
  17. so it was McDermott's defense that gave up 270 yards rushing to NE last week?
  18. Still need talent to run trick plays, probably exceptional talent. We don't have it. Can't get blood out of a stone.
  19. You're basing Dawkins value on hopeful potential. He'd be coming off a tough season so no GM would be generous in a trade offer. We are in a bad position with leverage in trades. After last season, probably a 2nd
  20. I think they will need to see some type of progress, even if the record isn't great, in order for McDermott to stay on past 2019.
  21. If we have an equally poor line and WR group, then yes, it would be a good reason that they might fail again in 2019, why wouldn't it be?
  22. 3 - Richie, Wood and Glenn As for why they regressed.... hard to say, but it's not often rookies consistently contribute to success, we rely of a few rookies. Other teams draft and get free agents as well, so in order to improve we need to also do more than other teams. We didn't. Lots of heavy lifting yet to do for Beane. Let's hope he makes some good moves.
