  1. Of course his exposure has a lot to do with his name recognition, but it's because or it makes him the face of this controversy. And I don't necessarily think playing in the AAF would be the best path for him, but I can be wrong. He may end up playing with ducasse as his guard... what are the chances of him having any success then?
  2. The NFL field, not AAF. there's a bit of a difference. Maybe you recognize Reid and Jenkins as being front and center like Kaep, but i'd bet the ranch that many of the haters of Kaep, who are just casual fans have no idea about the other 2. I could walk up to random people for name recognition, most will know Kaep, most won't know the other 2.
  3. that would be helpful, but your post was based on a 'source' and nothing else. The co-founder of the league doesn't know why Kaep didn't agree to play, you'd think he would know if he asked for $20mm.
  4. but seriously- who said he asked for $20m- Polian said he doesn't even know why Kaep isn't playing.
  5. It wasn't easy for Reid, he took a huge paycut and was on a 1 year deal until recently. Also, and this should be obvious, Kaep is the face of the protest and he gets the most reaction. Also being a QB , he'd be more in the limelight naturally. There's a huge difference between the other players and Kaep , anyone paying attention would realize that. if only he kicked his GF on video , he's probably be signed by now.
  6. That's BS- teams are afraid to sign him because of the bad PR they might get.
  7. I find it hard to believe that Kaep asked for $20MM when league salaries at $225,000 per year. I would need more backup on this to believe it. Polian said he doesn't know what happened with Kaep not playing so let's be careful not to assume this 'source' is correct. But think about it, if Kaep does sign to play, the ratings probably are pretty high with curiosity, he would probably help make the league some good advertising money early on at least.
  8. Well, we know the Bills didn't, we know after Smith broke his leg the Redskins 'considered' it but did not offer him a tryout. I think if any team wanted to cover their butts and not look like they were doing anything wrong they wouldn't hesitate to say that they attempted to offer something and his demands were outrageous. That's a logical assumption, until you look at some of the other disasters that have played QB over the last couple seasons. We had one in Buffalo.
  9. Not true. It's because he knelt for the Anthem and he's the face of the issue. Derek Anderson was at home, not working out and seemed 100% focused on life after football yet he gets a job. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6405807/Colin-Kaepernick-working-30-hours-week-hes-not-invited-Redskins-tryouts.html
  10. It's not as big a topic, but I hope this also means we don't have to hear about Tebow playing football anymore. He just had his chance too.
  11. Do you really think any team has even approached him about playing?
  12. I'm pretty sure the general consensus was that Beane got great value for TT. Flacco also has 3 years remaining on his contract, which probably contributed to the low price tag to acquire him.
  13. Is a veteran a 'retread' - he's been a solid receiver his whole career. No reason to bad mouth him.
  14. how much is guaranteed? and for someone that can start, it's probably pretty fair money.
  15. I agree, I think the Bills are thrilled with Allen, as am I.
  16. the Jets should be thrilled with Darnold, he looks great and I have no doubt he'll be a star. I think Allen will turn out to be a very good QB as well, but right now , Darnold is ahead, but not by much.
  17. I would like them to pick a perennial all pro with their first pick, regardless of position. After that, just fill in areas of need. OL, WR, RB, DT...
  18. You know we have to replace those players and that costs money too.
  19. I don't know why, I like Milano, but for some reason not totally sold that he is anything special. He's above average much of the time, but not always. Just can't read him well I guess.
  20. I still disagree- 20th highest paid LB is $9mm - no way Milano gets that. Dawkins was awful last season, he needs to show a lot this year to stay a viable option.
  21. I'm not so sure Milano becomes a big ticket linebacker, White for sure, Dawkins hasn't earned a new contract at all, Hyde will be 31/32- no big contract there. Poyer won't get a long term deal at age 30. I would think any contract Hyde or Poyer would get post age 30 would be designed with little risk for the Bills to term early in the deal.
  22. It's the NFL, everyone is an injury risk at some point. Williams had surgery to repair his injury, that often helps. If we decide to pursue him, they will evaluate his medical issues, if he's not healthy , they won't sign him.
