So the 10-11 million you're OK with paying, isn't that paying a premium based on last season, certainly it can't be for his first 2 seasons.
-
Who does that? Hahaha. Most people do that? Really?
-
Ignore the dramatic improvement in his game and 18 tds, but determine his worth by his previous 2 seasons. Makes no sense whatsoever. I still think it's fans who are easily butthurt and are so offended that he tweeted a few times about the money.
-
That's almost always the question. We can structure a contract with heavier cap hits late in the term. I happens all the time, but it's interesting that when it comes to Cook, i don't hear anyone brining I that approach to the contract.
-
With that logic we really have no RB's on the roster worth much of a contract. Can't expect much more than 3 rushing TDs from Davis or 1 from Ty. Yeah, not many players put up neck to back 18td seasons, but this is no ordinary offense, we were the highest scoring team in the league. This is becoming a run first offense and Cook excels in that. We sign him to an extension, might even lower this years cap number. Honestly, never seen a high drafted player coming off such a tremendous season with so many wanting him gone. This is what the Sabres do, not the Bills.

How many wins do the Bills get without Josh?
klos63 replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's what we pay him for. I dont think too much is on his shoulders, it's just the right amount for a superstar QB, but we also spent high picks on Cook, Coleman, Torrence, Brown... to help. He's got big shoulders, nothing to worry about. -
Shedur Sanders Make To Round 5? (Poll) - UPDATED x 3

You're ragging on Sanders because some John Doe is filing a lawsuit? -
It definitely takes a full team to succeed, josh had a season with minimal sacks and INTS, in part because of the success of Cook. We were more of a ball control team last season, much more balanced but still dangerous. I'm not worried about the cap. We extended key players with good contracts, the cap always goes up significantly, contracts fall off every year, Daquan Jones, regretfully Milano, AJ, Bosa, all go away next season. We drafted a lot of defense this year to replace veterans with rookie contracts. We can afford Cook if they want to.

Sorry, i can't easily dismiss 16 TDs like others can. You may legitimately have concerns about his value, that's fair, but honestly, i think from most fans the reason for much of the criticism is because he posted on twitter a few months ago and no fan base gets more offended than the Bills.
-
True, but very few even get to 16 in the first place. We have a tremendous offense, he's a key part, we agree on that. I think he has the talent and the personnel around him to put up superstar numbers.
-
How many RBs that did have 70% of the snaps get 16 TD'S. So many dismiss that, it's a big deal. Re-watch some games from last season, if you do it's impossible to not see his impact and his value to the team. Then watch how he performed in the playoffs, the guy is a stud, that's why Beane used a very valuable 2nd round pick on him.
-
They're not going to tear up his contract, they'll extend it(if they reach agreement) and structure so his cap hit is minimal this year and next... and maybe a 3rd year. I don't get that nobody hear seems to discuss the actual structure of the deal. People just seem to assume that it would have to be 15mm a year cap hit, which it won't. If Beane wants to extend him, they will.

As i recently bought my son, Solomon, his jersey, I'm expecting big things. Although I'm more confident with the jersey that i bought for my son, Oliver.
-
How is it mirroring his brother's career?
-
He's very dangerous as a receiver. He's not dropping a lot of passes. I've been watching highlights from last season. Cook is dynamic, one of the best backs on the league. I really want to see him signed to an extension. He's worth big money.

PFT article implies that Goodell has pushed out potential replacements

It happens every year, to every commissioner. It's hardly funny. -
PFT article implies that Goodell has pushed out potential replacements

Can I ask why? There seems to me so much to enjoy about sports. It's not like booing the commish is a new thing. No matter who it is they get booed. -
Have our draft picks signed their contracts?
klos63 replied to billvernsays's topic in The Stadium Wall
If their job is to get people riled up and angry, they would probably be doing that today. Maybe that's not their job? -
They won't take up a roster spot for a mentor. We have coaches to teach and we have veteran players to help.
-
What's the alternative? He's had playoff success, they could do much worse. We need to count our blessings.
-
Guarantee money equals 3 years salary, so you're probably correct. That'll give them time to draft a qb. This just shows the value of any qb that can reasonably be relied on.

Does the placement of the bye week really matter?
klos63 replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Byes always help, but to what extent depends on that particular week. What's the injury situation, travel, have a Thursday night game next... -
Derrick Henry gets 2 year $30m Dollar Extension ($25m guaranteed).
klos63 replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
That may be the case, if it is, I'm not happy with spending a 2nd round pick on a player that you only expect to have around for 4 seasons. Not good value. -

Where did you see the 20m? This is the first I've heard that.
