  1. Speaking for myself, one thing that marred his desirability WRT to coaching here, was the implications he made about Hull.
  2. IDK if I mentioned this b4, but it did occur to me at the time that the Rooney Rule may well have specificially/directly screwed April. It would've certainly made sense for him to be named Interim HC. Basically, by naming Fewell HC it assures of him "interviewing" for the vacant HC position thereby allowing for the hire of a "name" like Cowher or Shanny w/o having to through an entire "proper" interview process.
  3. Ahhhh, all you have to do is PLEDGE to lose the wgt & they'll contribute? How is that incentive? Okay, I pledge to lose to lose 200 lbs (I weigh about 220).
  4. Dummy, you don't let the opponents know what you're doing, especially w/ a trick play like that. If you said, "we're running a hook and lateral", they'd know what to expect. Duh! But, if you use the code "hook and ladder", nobody knows what they means so they'd be unsuspecting & it just might work. [/-sarcasm]
  5. Well, he had to have a "get to know me" meeting 1st. Ralph's not gonna bring him in & actually consider hiring him if "he doesn't know that guy".
  6. I think your 70% is WAY over-optimistic. Last #s I saw, which were from maybe a decade or so ago, <25% of NFL players have a degree. I'd be curious to know what the overall %age graduation rates for various colleges are & at what time kids "drop out".
  7. Maybe a dumb question (indicative that I'm maybe not so up on small engines), but is it 2 cycle or 4 cycle? If it's 2 cycle, maybe your mix is off. (Dumb idea, maybe if it's 4 cycle, she's trying to use 2 cycle fuel mix.)
  8. Isn't/wasn't he #35? I've seen him on the field, not necessarily doing anything productive. You know, sorta like Maybin.
  9. If you have a solid organization, w/ everyone on the same page, the more, the better. After all, this is a zero sum game which to some extent becomes a battle of brains. The more you can work & the smarter the better. These coaches put in 80+ hr weeks. Since we appear to have little cohesive strategy, especially on offense, I don't think it matters that we lost an Offensive coach. That said, I wonder to what extent a few of Fewell's brain farts WRT time mgmt etc (domains typically of the HC) are attributable to him being too busy being DC during the game. For that reason, I think having April be HC would've been preferable. I can only assume that one of the deciding factors in having Fewell promoted has to do w/ the Rooney Rule.
  10. Don't know the dates, but Dumping Dockery and cutting Walker arguably you could add benching Edwards and Hardy coming off PUP (but not playing for however long)
  11. Yes and No. I read somewhere (I think Chris Brown's blog) that he is allowed to play despite being on IR, however he won't be able to as he just had hip/groin surgery which has a ~3 month recovery period.
  12. I would think that none of "us" should know what they're doing & I would imagine that would even include to some extent the Tim Grahams et al of the world. However, I certainly hope that they have not been sitting around w/ their thumbs up their butts for the last 6 wks. General practice, at least w/ coaches, in the NFL is that you allow people to advance. i.e. You've got a position coach under cnt & someone is interested in them for a coordinator opening - you let them interview and take the job if offered. There should be several "asst GM" people out there that we should consider for our front office. Hopefully, we are requesting interviews w/ these types of people and indeed are talking to them. If not, then we become just another contestant in the musical chairs that goes on every yr at the end of the season. Which doesn't bode well for us.
  13. KW is among tackle leaders among DTs. Although unspectacular, he's very solid IMO.
  14. LOL. Fat, drunk & stupid is no way to go thru life, son. Well, there's no way you can call Roscoe fat. And I doubt he plays games drunk, either.
  15. Usually Xmas eve. Sis & clan won't get here til Xmas afternoon though. :harrumph:
  16. Roughly the same %age increase. I'm Security Mutual FWIW. Could be a Bethlehem thing.
  17. IDK about exact/verbatim, but he said something like that in his PC today.
  18. Did you do the math? I'd be quite surprised if that sort of performance equates to a QB rating of 71. I suppose it matters how many passes he throws (isn't YPA in the calculation?) but even w/ that category maxed out, I doubt the rating would be that high. I'd guess 50ish. I'll assume that we go to our "checkdown offense", in which case the above #s are perhaps plausible. If we run a "real" offense, I'd be VERY pleasantly surprised if he manages 60%.
  19. Just to clarify, I did NOT file a claim. AFAIK, the Ins Co has no rcd of the incident. When it occurred, I called my (independent) agent. They state that I have a $1k deductible and that they would only pay to replace the pane. After getting quotes to replace it, I realized the most prudent choice was to replace the entire door. (Further, the cost to only replace said pane would've been substantially less than my deductible ergo no reason to file.) All done at my out of pocket expense. And to add, I do realize that it was not necessarily prudent to make claim that on something that is only slightly > my deductible. i.e. $1100 claim - $1000 deductible = $100 cash -> $100/yr increase in premium = dumb.
  20. What, are you his ex-wife making sure you get your share of child support? jk. Seriously, IDK. One would logically think, that since we would be the ones that were obligated to pay it b4, we wouldn't be responsible for double payment. Likewise, if someone was cut & signed by another team, we would no longer be responsible for payment, sorta like coaches contracts, except they renegotiate terms. Again, the above is only my opinion on what I think would be fair.
  21. Already have $1000 deductible, which I found out this yr. 1st opportunity for a claim - a pane on a sliding glass door"spontaneously" broke. Unfortunately, insurance will only cover the cost of replacing the pane (~$500, so no coverage ). 20 yr old door, so I ended up replacing the whole thing (~$1400) myself. Thanks for the definitive info Loyal, perhaps it's time to go shopping again.
  22. Anyone else experience this? Policy went for $363 to $459 even after removing a couple of riders they wanted to add. I think if anything, my house went down in value. I don't see any other changes. Comments? Personal experiences/observations? TIA
  23. If one is to believe Fewell's MO, it'll be Chroise starting. Although he's limited, he knows the system well. Though Brohm is the better prospect, we are led to believe he'd flounder in our system as he's unfamiliar w/ it. As I don't have enough info to know whether or not Brohm knows things well enough, I don't have a strong preference. I would rather see either relative to Fitz. I'll concede that Fitz's accuracy is sometimes handicapped by our poor pass blocking, but even when he has time, I think his accuracy is suspect & therefore should be relegated to solid backup status. I'd REALLY like to see Johnson & Hardy as WRs.
  24. Trent & Fitz. B Scott looks to have been knocked silly. & McGee.
  25. Slow And Absolutely Boring. Actually, I find it interesting that the 2 lines that arguably had the most merit (Saab & Saturn) are those that GM can't manage to make viable. Disappointing, too.
