Was it Bernie Lomax?

What do you want refilled w/ CO2? A welding supply shop would have a tank for sale/rent.

FWIW, it cost me $500 (for an independent appraisal) & NUMEROUS hrs fighting my recent assessment. (Again, thanks for your assistance on that Harvey - I still owe you a beer.) I got that back in my 1st yrs worth of school taxes alone. (Granted, it would've been better had I not needed to spend the $ or time if their initial assessment was more reasonable.) The ~$80k that Golisano will save EACH YR goes a long way toward legal bills.

One explanation (which likely isn't true in most cases), is that your buying the order from one entity & another is "handling" the order. "Large" stuff is often shipped directly from the factory, the retailer never sees/touches the stuff. The retailer marks the price up & their profit is justified w/ overhead associated w/ getting the sale & "handling" the customer. The shipper does the actual "handling" & profits according. FWIW, wouldn't surprise me if they're companies that specialize in "handling" orders. Let's say you mkt some spiffy "niche product". You only sell "a few on the side". You don't want to make it a part time job handling all these orders &/or can't justifying doing it yourself, so you hire it out.

They talk of a minimum acceptable measurement of 33" for an OT. I assume that isn't measured the same as when fitted for shirts. I'm only 6'0" & don't have particularly long arms, but I wear a 34/35. Typically, abnormally tall people have disproportionately long limbs. I gotta think that means a typical 6'5"ish OT would have ~40" shirt sleeves. 33" would be almost freakishly short.
-
Size wise, it's quite typical. Arguably, we don't have an OC (WRT $, that's a savings) In the past, we've had 2 DB coaches (I think one concentrating on CBs, the other Ss), now we have 2 for LBs. We do have 2 "real" ST coaches (though one is designated Asst), whereas we've had an Asst in the past. Likewise, we have 2 S & C as opposed to an Asst. We recently added an "administrative asst to HC" (in addition to his personal secretary). I'll add that this guy has decent football experience, so he might be contributing as well. So I think our staff is the same as last yr (b4 the OC dismissal) & is IMO quite typical these days.

you only need to fly a Flight Plan if you're flying IFR (Instrument Flight Rules), ie when controllers dictate where & how you fly. (I add that this is how it used to be - I haven't flown in a few yrs). Filing for VFR (Visual Flight Rules) is optional. However, even were you to file, AFAIK, there's no way of knowing whether or not you're authorized to fly that plane. I'll add that many GA planes are from the 60s & 70s w/ no/little theft prevention. Even if he did file, unless he was flying other than where he was supposed to, I don't see how that would raise a red flag. He could easily go "a few miles off course" and into the building in a matter of minutes.

This is what I'm proposing except that it's less practical for me to switch to 120v as I'll be replacing a 240v baseboard heater. You can either purchase ready made mats w/ the wire/heating element woven into them or separate wire that you have to lay yourself (which is more work, but in this small space you have the advantage that you can manage to squeeze in a bit more wire therefore more heating capacity. IDK if a 15 sq ft mat (roughly 210 watts) is adequate to replace a 500w baseboard. I should be able to get 264 watts (you can't "cut" the system) if I lay my own wire. Personally, I don't think it's worth putting in programmable thermostats in these locations. Trivial savings vs extra effort to program them when I lose power (which is frequent ) I have these baseboards (of varying wattage) thru-out the house. I do have central A/C but no duct work to either bathroom. Mr Info, how big is your bathroom & what sort of wattage did you install? (I realize your heating requirements in VA probably aren't as much as mine here in NY.) FWIW, I'm leaning toward installing it. Not so much for the toasty feet but rather less clutter in already small, cramped spaces.
-
Yeah, maybe that is a bit vague. My bathroom is roughly 5'x8' including tub, which yields roughly 5'x6' excluding the tub. Included in that is the toilet (floor mounted) and vanity. You're not supposed to install the heating elements either near the toilet drain (it'll melt the wax) or under an enclosure (vanity as heat will build up). Were I to buy a mat (where the wire is woven into a mesh mat), max std size I could use would be 3'x5'. Were I to get just a wire (about 80' linear ft) and lay my own pattern, I still could only cover less than 20 sq ft. When laying the wire, there's a min & max distance (2"-3") that you must maintain between "rows". 15watt/sq ft is the max allowed output of these things, so I'd be replacing a 500w heater w/ like max 250w, ie 1/2 the output.

Buffalo's odds to win the Super Bowl next season
eSJayDee replied to Lt. Dan's Revenge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think an important question in assessing the reasonableness of those odds, is what is the long range forecast for ambient temperature in Hell? -
I'm probably going to re-tile my 2 (small) bathrooms. They're currently heated w/ (glycol filled) electric baseboards (240v). For a few reasons, it's not practical to convert to 120v, so I'd be staying w/ 240v. My main question/concern is will one of these systems be adequate for heating the bathroom? Each bathroom is roughly 30 sq ft of floor plus bathtub area. I wouldn't be able to get more than about 15 sq ft of wire down which would be about 200 watts. The space is currently heated by a 500w heater. My other question is it worth the $ & effort? I'm perfectly happy w/ my baseboard system (have them thru-out the house) so the primary reason I'd be switching is aesthetics. Figure it'll cost roughly $300 doing it myself (which would mean roughly tripling the cost of this project). It'd be nice not to have the extra clutter of the heater along the wall but the bathrooms aren't exactly a thing of beauty. As background info, I live outside Albany, NY. My house is ~22 yrs old & I think worth currently about $180k. Any other input would be appreciated. TIA.

And so not the question will be
eSJayDee replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I realize this was "way back when", but we had a fairly successful 3-4 Dee w/ Jeff Wright playing NT. He certainly wouldn't be considered a "big guy" IMO. Perhaps we're gonna play the 3-4 in a way other than the stereotypical "fat immovable guy in the middle" way that most teams employ (usually quite succesfully) it to stop the run. Kyle Williams is coming into his own. Especially w/ Schobels future in question, IMO he's our best DLmen. NT material? IDK. -
30%. But who knows why.

For that matter, technically speaking, if a car is disabled (& presumably off the road), is there really a "driver"?

Easterbrook on Nix/Slim Pickens

LOL. Nice job, Gregggg. -
I had always blamed the short CB that seemed to more than occasionally have "brain farts". I think as DRG mentions, it was Porter. I don't so much blame Dehaven for our poor ST, but rather Wade. A ST coach can only do as much as the HC allows. Levy put great emphasis on ST & they flourished under Dehaven & Levy. Once Levy left, Wade put much less emphasis on them (I've read horror stories of what ST practice was like under the incompetent guy Wade replaced Dehaven w/) & performance suffered accordingly. An aside, for all his faults, one of the strong pts of Jauron IMO was his emphasis & allocation of resources to ST. He made April's job much easier. (Similar to this, look how terrible April's ST were under Martz.)

Flight attendant kicked off plane
eSJayDee replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
I would assume the claim of "provocatively" is "made up". I know that "way back when" airline employees were required to dress "properly" when traveling. This basically meant business attire. They likely do still have a dress code, but I suspect it tailors more toward "neat" rather than "sexy" & she may well have been denied boarding due to failing to meet these requirements. -
Effin A. That galls me. IMO, there were 2 big names out there that have had SIGNIFICANT success - Marty & Cowher. Both over 60% career win %age. Cowher w/ 1 team, Schotty had success w/ 3 or 4 (how'd he do w/ the Skins?) If true, this seriously pisses me off.

How our D goes from middle of the pack to "top 5"
eSJayDee replied to EndZoneCrew's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the 1st step & most important is just to get our offense from epically inept to mediocre. That alone should put us in the top 10 defensively. Lowering the frequency of long runs then should just about accomplish the desired result. Maybe cause recover a few more fumbles (IIRC, we recovered a historic low of only 5 this yr). -
London? I thought you said it was Nigeria? That's where you told me to send the $.

Anyone want to buy their own SU-27 Fighter Jet?

I was guessing the thing probably cost about $10k/hr to run. They quote ~$5k for fuel alone, so the cost well approach $20k! Not a cheap toy -
Bobby April: Why No Interview?
eSJayDee replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I realize that HAVING a minority coach in no way meets the Rooney requirements. Further, I'd like to emphasize that the Rooney Rule requires that you interview a legitimate minority candidate. As I believe Grudgingly alluded to the DET/Mooch thing, IIRC, DET tried to interview candidates, but were unable to get any as everyone knew they had Mooch in mind & the interview was then only obligatory. Now it's my OPINION, not at all substantiated by anything other than I would think that April was in far better position to be Interim HC, that Fewell was named I HC either w/ a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" that he would then interview for the HC job, or that by having him as I HC further "validates" him as a potential HC candidate. This is under the assumption that the upper brass had every intention of bringing in a "big name" has HC/GM/football honcho & having him lined up soon at which point it might be difficult (like DET had b4) getting ANY legitimate candidates interested in interviewing for a job that was essentially already filled.
