Pick a song that fits the life of Bills fan
eSJayDee replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Boomtown Rats: "I don't like Mondays", or if you prefer, a remake "I don't like Sundays". Personally, I think I get just as depressed Monday morning reading about the game. -
What would be beaucoup cool would be to fetch take-out w/o having to go fetch take out! Have the car go for you.

Phil Hanson over Chris Kelsey Any Day !
eSJayDee replied to I hate the Bills !'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How old is Phil? Young, maybe mid 40s? If he's kept himself in shape, he couldn't do much worse in pass coverage. It indeed might be an upgrade, even today. -
Wrotto promoted, Meredith waved

LOL. About the size of it WRT the talent that is our OLine. -
Demetrius Bell...run blocker extraordinaire?
eSJayDee replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unfortunately, based on what, about 10 carries? Not enough sampling to draw any valid conclusions. Depending on # of carries for instance, that 19 yd Spiller run might add maybe 1.7 yds/carry to the avg alone. -
What's the placekicker equivalent to "punt catcher". Like Albany said, Wade in the past has proven that he doesn't give a ticker's cuss about Special Teams.
-
I did notice that he was moving quite quickly (backwards) on one of his 1st plays as he was getting abused by a bullrush. Beyond that, I didn't realyy notice him, so that's probably a good sign.

Gailey : “We’re looking for a spark”
eSJayDee replied to eSJayDee's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In Chris Brown's blog: http://blogs.buffalobills.com/ a ways down, I think under "Fritz to start". -
I sincerely hope they haven't given up on the season... yet. At this point, Fritz gives us the best chance of having a productive offense. Likewise, unless one of the backs distinguishes themselves (one way or another) they will continue to use all 3, "roughly" equally as the situation warrants. They're saving our offense from the ineptitude that likely would result were Brohm to play now. And they're saving Spiller from wear and tear, but to the same extent that they are so doing for Marshawn & Jackson.
-
"Our offense has been absolutely putrid and pathetic & I think Edwards is a major cause of our ineptitude." I'd be inclined to think what is missing is more than a spark, but who knows. I'm anxious to see what Fitz can do in this system. Maybe we can improve to semi-competent and productive. Can't be much worse than we have been doing.

Philly signs RB Bell off of our Practice Squad
eSJayDee replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe we had that option. I think the way it works is a team "requests" to sign a player from your PS. You(we) then have the option of bringing him up to the 53 man roster (& presumably are required to keep him there for sometime) or allow him to be signed. Apparently, we didn't think him worthy of reserving a spot on the active roster. As someone else stated below, I think this makes it pretty obvious we're not close to dealing Marshawn. Then again, w/ this regime, who knows. -
At least you could root for good statistical production by OJ & Chandler. About the only thing we've got to root for now is Moorman.

TIME TO HIRE AN Offensive Coordinator
eSJayDee replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's an OC gonna do other than call plays outta Chan's playbook? Granted, having an extra coach might lighten the workload on the existing coaches, but so what? I'm not too optimistic that being able to devote MORE time to preparation is gonna solve anything. I'll concede that our offense looks more "innovative" than what we've seen over the last few yrs, but its appears equally or perhaps even more inept. To what extent it's personnel &/or scheme IDK. I don't know that if you FREQUENTLY fail to make effective blocks on multiple defenders, it makes it very difficult to be productive. -
Lynch and the QB Depth Chart
eSJayDee replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The way I view it, he's the backup RB, so he mostly takes handoffs in practice from the BU QB. Not the starter or the Scout QB. -
I haven't watched the replay yet, but my estimation it woulda been good from 55; 57 maybe.

What would have to happen between now and Sunday
eSJayDee replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1st, I'd have to ingest miniaturized, genetically altered primates capable of defying gravity. 2nd, those monkeys would have to somehow manage to make their way thru my digestive system unharmed to then fly out my butt. Seriously, other than something severely catastrophic happening to GB, I've gotta think a loss is the likely outcome. -
Some interesting "stats" from week one regarding QBs
eSJayDee replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1st, a stat like that is pretty worthless given the small sample set (maybe 30 passes). However, FWIW, I'd bet that most/all the QBs w/ low ratings had more INTs than TDs. Despite his abysmal performance TE had no picks & 1 TD. Had the Fins managed to hold onto those 2, he'd probably be at the bottom of that list. -
Not at 1/2 time. For the 1st half, the offense was totally pathetic. Edwards didn't have a chance to suck. It serves no purpose to pull a QB in a tenuous position when he isn't the problem. It wasn't until later in the game that Edwards started to play poorly. And I would've considered pulling him b4 our TD drive.

Brady in a car accident this morning
eSJayDee replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Curious he has Jersey plates. Isn't he from CA? I could understand why he'd perfer to have a non-MA residence, but NJ? I assume that's an A8 so one can applaud his taste in cars, too. -
Thanks everyone for your input. FYI, I just switched this morning. FWIW, what I ended up paying was actually less than I was quoted online. I'm guessing that's cuz the quote included my 2nd (seldom used) vehicle. So the ultimate savings is actually about $400 or 40%!

If it weren't for nurture, how would we know what "bad" is? Think of your behavior as a kid. Until you learn right from wrong, you think nothing of wrong. I'm firmly on the side of nurture. Then again, we all might have inherent tendencies, good &/or bad, but they must be fostered and developed or suppressed.

Just got a new/used car & my insurance premium was jacked up significantly (State Farm). I considered switching b4, but being happy I didn't think switching companies was worth the risk for the less than $200 it was gonna save me. It's now almost $400 w/ the new car. FWIW, I have a clean license, never any accidents & no tickets in the last 10 yrs. I also have Classic Car insurance thru another company on my 2nd car. Anyone wish to give any opinion on Geico, it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

If I was in my 50s and intended to have a $15k windfall alleviate my dependence on Soc Sec, I'd buy a really nice stainless steel refrigerator; the biggest and heaviest made. Cuz w/o Soc Sec, I'd be living in the box it came in pretty shortly if $15k was all I had to retire on. Seriously, I hope this is hypothetical. If you're 30, you've got the opportunity to have that $ grow into something (figuring/hoping it'll dbl in "real value" every 10-12 yrs, that'd yield maybe $120k in todays $). If you're already almost at retirement age, you can't expect that $ to grow much, so it should be treated as either "mad money", or an opportunity for a "flyer" that might amount to something.
