Some interesting "stats" from week one regarding QBs
eSJayDee replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1st, a stat like that is pretty worthless given the small sample set (maybe 30 passes). However, FWIW, I'd bet that most/all the QBs w/ low ratings had more INTs than TDs. Despite his abysmal performance TE had no picks & 1 TD. Had the Fins managed to hold onto those 2, he'd probably be at the bottom of that list. -
Not at 1/2 time. For the 1st half, the offense was totally pathetic. Edwards didn't have a chance to suck. It serves no purpose to pull a QB in a tenuous position when he isn't the problem. It wasn't until later in the game that Edwards started to play poorly. And I would've considered pulling him b4 our TD drive.

Brady in a car accident this morning
eSJayDee replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Curious he has Jersey plates. Isn't he from CA? I could understand why he'd perfer to have a non-MA residence, but NJ? I assume that's an A8 so one can applaud his taste in cars, too. -
Thanks everyone for your input. FYI, I just switched this morning. FWIW, what I ended up paying was actually less than I was quoted online. I'm guessing that's cuz the quote included my 2nd (seldom used) vehicle. So the ultimate savings is actually about $400 or 40%!

If it weren't for nurture, how would we know what "bad" is? Think of your behavior as a kid. Until you learn right from wrong, you think nothing of wrong. I'm firmly on the side of nurture. Then again, we all might have inherent tendencies, good &/or bad, but they must be fostered and developed or suppressed.

Just got a new/used car & my insurance premium was jacked up significantly (State Farm). I considered switching b4, but being happy I didn't think switching companies was worth the risk for the less than $200 it was gonna save me. It's now almost $400 w/ the new car. FWIW, I have a clean license, never any accidents & no tickets in the last 10 yrs. I also have Classic Car insurance thru another company on my 2nd car. Anyone wish to give any opinion on Geico, it'd be appreciated. Thanks.

If I was in my 50s and intended to have a $15k windfall alleviate my dependence on Soc Sec, I'd buy a really nice stainless steel refrigerator; the biggest and heaviest made. Cuz w/o Soc Sec, I'd be living in the box it came in pretty shortly if $15k was all I had to retire on. Seriously, I hope this is hypothetical. If you're 30, you've got the opportunity to have that $ grow into something (figuring/hoping it'll dbl in "real value" every 10-12 yrs, that'd yield maybe $120k in todays $). If you're already almost at retirement age, you can't expect that $ to grow much, so it should be treated as either "mad money", or an opportunity for a "flyer" that might amount to something.

If he didn't play for the Pats*, quite possibly. Since he's a Cheatriot, HIGHLY unlikely.

The one scenario that might just happen
eSJayDee replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing to take into consideration is that IF they do keep 4 QBs, that is a SIGNIFICANT vote of non-confidence in their starting QB. Considering the teams reluctance to bring in veteran "stop gap" players at other positions (thinking OL in particular), I would think that if indeed, Fitz is thought of as the 3rd best QB AND that it's viewed that both Brown & Brohm have potential, then Fitz is gone. (That is assuming that Edwards is viewed as the starter.) Further keeping 4 QBs would hamper the development of the "other 2"; there's only so many practice reps to go around. Not saying it's impossible, but it would be a dubious at best move IMO. -
I would assume that it means that it is run/owned by a private, ie for profit, corporation rather than some gov't entity.

Hacker seeking Rochester golf course
eSJayDee replied to Delete This Account's topic in Off the Wall Archives
If you're in Pittsford for training camp, there's a course right down the road that I hear is pretty nice. Never played there myself, but I would imagine it's not too crowded on a weekday morning. I think it's called Oak Hill. I'd advise against wearing tshirt & jeans, just in case. -
Woman run over, killed by police cruiser
eSJayDee replied to thebug's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Murder? No. Manslaughter &/or Vehicular Homicide? I sincerely hope their investigating that possibility. -
Last time I was in Buffalo - many, many yrs ago, I bought about a dozen Super Mighty (softshell) Tacos. (If I'm not mistaken, that was so long ago, they no longer call them that.) Anyway, the 2 or so I had when in Buffalo were as awesome as I remember. After being frozen, they were still quite good, but not the same. Perhaps, if they were quick frozen, they might better retain the taste & texture. In any event, based on cost, I might well try some.

No. If I had one, I'd play w/ it. Guns are not for playing w/. I have a Great Dane & an 8 lb Claymore. Both can be (comparitively) safely played w/.

It's odd/surprising that his 200 times is more than 2x his 100 time. It takes maybe 20 yards to reach speed, from that point on you're basically running at full speed. 200m is not a "distance" race, but rather a sprint. His times would indicate he actually tired toward the end (&/or he gets up to full speed at a ridiculously quickly but his 60m time would contradict that).

Source with Eagles said VICK to be released regardless
eSJayDee replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously? This is a source? I could be considered "a person familiar w/ the team's thinking" (well, maybe not for the Eagles, but for the Bills) & my last interaction w/ ANYONE in any way affiliated w/ the Bills was attending (just watching like every other fan) training camp a few yrs ago. -
That's cruel. But I laughed anyway.

Among other atrocities, it doesn't look good when something touted as a burger (ie seemingly primarily meat) has about 2x as many carbs as protein. On the plus side, it does have 9g fiber!

Terrell Owens--Public Display of INSANE Vertical
eSJayDee replied to gflande1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? That looked to be not much more than about 4' high. For someone his hgt that probably doesn't amt to much more than 24" vertical. Heck my fat, middle aged body can almost do that. Wasn't the video of Wendling performing a similar feat like 5'6"? -
This was my assessment of it. A shame, cuz I was looking fwd to seeing it & was disappointed when I did.

Was anyone here at Superbowl 25?
eSJayDee replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on my section, I'd be inclined to think most were "MVPs" & neither Bills nor Giants fans (arguably not even football fans). In fact, a couple of guys got up & left at the 2:00 warning! That REALLY irked me (consider that at the time one had every reason to believe the game had the potential to have a very exciting ending). From what I saw around the stadium (based on apparel worn), Giant fans definitely out#ed Bills fans. -

Yes, why? -
And I thought you meant either "curling" or some sort of aftermath of competitive drinking.
