  1. It likely was pieced together, i.e. Photoshopped. It appears that Ralph's shadowing is different from everyone else, too. FWIW, Byrd appears to be slightly in front of Florence, which might cause the apparent hgt disparity, as well; it does look like he was pieced in.
  2. Guess I'll be going to bed early tonite.
  3. (speaking of Homer) I read that as "Marionette" & wondered, 1) why would they ban the production of marionettes & 2) WTF would Muslims care about that for.
  4. I seem to recall seeing somewhere the Giants game was telecast here, presumably by one of the local networks. Was it shown & by whom? I realize that this past week being Thanksgiving might mean that there's no much to preempt whereas this coming week there might be. FWIW, I believe we're considered 2ndary mkts for both the Giants & Jets. Thx.
  5. "DT Lonnie Harvey is a behemoth at 6′3″ and 342 pounds". Doesn't likely fit the mold of small, quick guys. The rest of our DTs are in the 300 range (Stroud being a relatively svelte 6'6" 315)
  6. Bear in mind, an (good) interview is a give & take proposition. Shanahan knows stuff, and people. Much as the interview process is of benefit to applicants (a significant reason for the Rooney Rule), considering presumably how clueless our decision makers are, this was probably of considerable benefit to them as well. Ergo the lengthy discussions.
  7. I'm hoping it's cuz Byrd was nursing his groin, but it looked, at least in the 2nd half, that the 2 primary safeties were Wilson & Whitner, w/ Byrd only coming in when extra DBs were required. IMO, whitner is better defending the run than Byrd, but Byrd is SOOOOO much more likely to generate a big play in the passing game, I don't see how you can field Whitner over Byrd unless you KNOW they're gonna run, or if Byrd is injured. And Wilson is better than Whitner in both aspects, so should also be starting ahead of him.
  8. Everyone sez it was a fake. Looks to me like Moorman had trouble w/ the snap, so it called a "fire drill". It looked a bit chaotic, too. Opinions?
  9. Premature Write up
  10. Well, from what I've seen of old games, they had trouble fitting "Schottenheimer" on the back of his jersey. How's that for "big".
  11. Unfortunately, none of those mentioned potential coaches are a minority. The Rooney rule requires that we interview a minority candidate, which as past dealings have shown, having a "name" already lined up proves to be problematic.
  12. WRT buyouts, I believe you have it backwards. If, indeed those coaches are still under cnt w/ their former teams, those teams are on the hook for whatever salary they're owed AFTER any other deals. Presumably, whatever we were to sign them for, would be more than their old team owes them. Likewise, we (probably) won't be obligated to pay the entire amt of Jauron's (alleged) $3m/yr. Assuming he becomes a DC elsewhere for say $2m/yr, we'd only owe him the remaining $1m/yr.
  13. Bellicheat blew that one!!!
  14. Id, Ego, & Super Ego?
  15. Personally, I think the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 look MUCH better. http://www.theonion.com/content/video/ultr..._modern_warfare
  16. The avatar there is Pooch, a 7 yr old Great Dane.
  17. Doesn't it facilitate heat dissipation?
  18. What gives you any insight into the fact that he would make a competent GM? Based on his on-camera analysis, I can see how you might think he is qualified to be a positional coach (particularly QB) or perhaps an OC. But GM? He might be "connected" more than an outsider, but I doubt as much as an insider. I've seen nothing to indicate to me that he has any ability in assessing player talent, which is the most critical skill for a GM (followed closely by picking a good HC, scouting dept & perhaps assisting in assembling the rest of the staff). I recall him saying the Losman would be the most successful of all the QBs in that class. He might well have ability in assessing player talent, but we don't really know. How'd it work out for the Lions hiring Millen cuz he was such a talented color man?
  19. According to Chris Brown's blog, it's scheduled for 12:30 today.
  20. Actually, the 2 ARE quite different. And IMO, McGee's talent/skillset is much better suited for KRs. Roscoe OTOH, is a superb PR, but merely adequate KR. Again, IMO. Jackson seems to be good at both.
  21. I agree that booing would be classless. I think the appropriate response (though I can't imagine it happening, unlike boos, if we've had a lame 1st half) would be essentially silence. Failing that, a "golf clap".
  22. Actually, there's a "secret" transponder code for plane being hi-jacked. (7500)
  23. From Chris Brown's blog :
  24. Yeah. Eliminate those 2 carries & you only let up about 180 yds and 5 yds per carry.
  25. A block doesn't count as a touch WRT possession. Unless a Chief touched the ball beyond the LOS, it's a deadball once the Skins touch it.
